What a wonderful place to find solitude and get some fresh air! Nothing like a good walk in nature to ease the burdens and stress of the daily grind! This park delivers on beauty, calm, and adventure!! We did a 2.7 mile circuit trail and happened upon another trail, which led to this hidden gem of a spot, Lookout Tower that boasts a spectacular view of Waller Mill Pond!! It's just off the trail that parallels the road to Williamsburg. There's plenty of picnic tables and hidden quiet spots to just rest and relax, soak in the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful park!!! So lucky we chanced on it on such a perfect fall day!!!

I LOVED Waller Mill! Came by last week for my first visit with a new friend and thought it was absolutely beautiful! Plenty of parking - $2 to park - and they had tons of kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats for rent. We went with a paddle boat and went out on the water - the people up front were friendly enough and helped us quickly (there was no one else around as it was a Thursday afternoon around 6pm) and we spent a pleasant two hours rowing around on the beautiful water. Apparently the water here is where the city gets their drinking water so you aren't allowed to swim in it though you can boat in there and I saw some folks fishing. There are trails and other cool things to do I hope to see when the weather is a bit cooler. I will most def. be back!

The staff here are super friendly which we appreciated. It was pretty empty when we arrived which made our kayak ride even more relaxing. Was our second time kayaking which was a bit more on the scary side but the 20 minutes out in the water was very nice and serene. There are hiking trails around as well as a fishing pier. Due to Covid, only allowing 6 people at the pier at a time. Beware for the huge spiders in the trails!

Early fall in a rented jon boat. Wonderful!

Any visit to Williamsburg is a chance to get close to nature. Waller Mill is only 10 minutes or less from Colonial Williamsburg but feels miles away. Great places fir short hikes, picking, even a dog park. Plus boats and fishing and fun. Try it!!

This park is a photographers paradise! The area provides a ton of natural beauty year round, especially during fall and late spring. The sunsets are amazing from the bridge, docks, and shore. It is always fun to take a paddle boat out on the water and explore. One unexpected treasure is a lost building submerge under water. It was a fun discovery and it made for a great picture. The walking trails are always a mini adventure and are great for exercise. Also, it is a wonderful place to fish. The fishing pier is well maintained and sturdy. My husband has caught quite a few fish such as panfish, perch, and even a big mouth bass. On most days, the pier is not too crowded and a peaceful spot to relax. I usually read a book or take pictures. We always have a great time when we visit this park!

This park was really beautiful and quiet, it only cost two dollars to park. The trails were very laid out and marked and the views were beautiful. They even have a lookout tower you can view from. Overall my wife and I had a great time

Nice way to stay close to resort. Paths a little bumpy. Park in the middle of woods? Boats and kayAks available.

The layout of the cabin was spacious and very comfortable! It was rather hot, so walking the dog at midday was out, so he was able to stay crated with no worries if barking and disturbing neighbors. I took a tour of the mansion, and the different farm exhibits as Chippokes is one of the longest continuously farmed locations in the country, dating back nearly to the Jamestown settlement, which is a ferry ride away! Check out the fossil beaches and the visitor center for James River views and the ability to cool off!

About a decade ago, we stayed in one of the cabins with our children. They loved it as we explored some trails, the beach, the historic buildings, the farm and equipment and rode bikes. Now my husband and I return to use the hiking/walking trails. The trails give you a little bit of everything. You can be in the shade, the blazing sun, on the beach walking in the sand, beside a field of cows or soybeans, or meandering down a rural road. We recently did a 4 mile hike and packed a lunch to enjoy on the beach. My only issue is that some people who come with their dogs have them off leash. We bring our leashed dog and I don't care for other large dogs running up to us with their owners not having control. I highly recommend going and enjoying Chippokes!

While there is a shaded area with picnic tables, I kind of wish that the dog park had a few more trees for more shade, but that is a very minor complaint. Since the park is maintained by PETA, there is a lot of PETA messaging (e.g., why crating dogs is "bad") in certain parts of the park. Although I disagree with some of the messaging, it did not negatively impact my visit.

On top of giving your dog a great play space, you can actually enjoy watching the cruise ships go by, which makes it a really unique spot. The park is divided into two sections: one side for small dogs and one for larger dogs. I love that they've thought of the details--there are two little kiddie pools with running water, so you can refresh them as needed. It's always clean, well-maintained, and has a few toys out for the pups to enjoy. Another plus is that it's not usually overcrowded, which makes it much more relaxing for both dogs and owners. The surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous (and honestly, I'd love to live there if it were in my budget!). All in all, Bea Arthur Dog Park is a wonderful place to bring your pup for some exercise, playtime, or just to enjoy the views. Definitely one of Norfolk's dog-friendly treasures!
