Overall very stressful experience after having multiple repairs after hurricane Irma and un covering un foreseen problems. If something did not go as discussed with contractor it was made out to seem as I had misunderstood. Tile guys left furniture out on porch for days, flooring was originally supposed to be completed within 4 day time frame, when in actuality it took a total of 13 days in which I was out of my home. When I informed the contractor there was a white substance seeping up from grout I was told to just mop with vinegar more than 6 months later white residue continues to seep up through grout. I had Microtech come out and look at a mold / water damage problem I was having with my siding. They came out and provided an inspection. After the inspection I received a thorough report which included the findings of the inspection, the sources of the damage and the recommendations to fix the problems. The owner of the company even called me to personally review the report with me and explain the process of how I could coordinate moving forward with getting the situation under control. They were really helpful with providing answers and suggestions without any pressure. I really appreciate that. I really felt a sense of trust with the company. I have two small children. So when I found a water stain in the corner of my closet I wanted to have it checked for mold because of the health implications it could cause my kids. My husband called a few mold inspection companies. Most that he talked to said that they only cleaned the mold but did not take care of replacing the drywall after the job was done. Microtech was one of the companies that said they included everything with their estimate. Mold removal and repair. It was more expensive for them to come out compared to other companies but we figured it would be worth it since we wouldn't have to hire a separate contractor after the mold cleanup. Other companies charge $50. Microtech charges $195 and they take your credit card upfront. They did a hard sell and convinced us they could take care of everything. The technician came out and took measurements and used his moisture reading machine. When asked what the results were and what needed to be done, the technician seemed to not want to answer me at that time. He said they would send a proposal to me. I was suspicious, if he was a mold expert he could tell me then and there? He told that they would have take two feet off all around the perimeter of the closet and clean up the mold. I asked what it would cost to do all that. He told me that would be in the contract. I told him in his MANY years of doing this about how much does this similar job cost? He said that it should be around $600. Once the proposal came in it was around $600 but it only covered the mold removal and not the repair. That is NOT what they told us initially. I had a gut instinct that I should get a second opinion and I am glad I did. Turned out it wasn't mold and just a water stain. Even though I tried to contact the company to get some of my $195 back for them deceiving us. They refused to return any phone calls. Even though I may not get my $195 back at least I save myself $100's that this company would have cost me if I had signed the contract with them. It disgusts me the dishonesty of this company. Anyone else not thinking to get a second opinion would be scammed by this company and not even know it. Hope this review will be helpful to anyone thinking of using Microtech. read more

I will never look in the direction of this company again in life. I have had nothing bad service from day one. They send unqualified individuals to do work in your home. Example they sent a carpenter to paint. The paint job came out very bad. The people who repaired the outside did not keep the same stucco pattern thus after painting you can see where the repair done on the house. They likely have taken the value down on my home a few thousand dollars. I wish there was a way to give negative stars. read more

We had a leak in our master closet coming from an improperly plumbed condensate line. This could have been a disaster especially considering I am highly allergic to mold and mildew. Microtech responded quickly and dried up the water and moisture right away preventing any damage from being done at all! I was paranoid about any deodorizers they would use, but after all work was done our closet smelled fresh and clean. It did not smell of fragrance or anything that would cause a headache. Not only did Microtech solve the moisture problem, but they also organized the rest of the job needing to be done so this would not happen again. From the plumber to the carpet reinstallation to the repainting of the trim work, they handled it all with professionalism and work I felt confident about. Exceptional Response Time and Customer Service! I had the misfortune of my brand new construction home flooding 3 months after we moved in. As you can imagine this was devastating. I called MicroTech and within HOURS they were at my home. I was beyond impressed with the level of attention and customer service I received from everyone on staff. No question was left unanswered and the time that the crew took while explaining the process etc. made me feel like I was the only client. Brian and his team anytime we met didn't answer their phone. I received their undivided attention. It went along way. Everyone at MicroTech made sure that I understood every step of the process. No call was left unreturned and I always received a response in a timely fashion. I hope that I never have to use them again, but in the event I do they will be my first call. We had a mold issue and called MicroTech who was recommended to us. They charged us $200 to do a mold inspection, which I later found out more reputable companies do for FREE. They came out with a meter, took some pictures and sent us a worthless report and outrageous quote. They will credit the $200 report fee if you hire them to do the remediation. I guess they figure they have you trapped at that point and you will want to try and recover some of the cost by going with them. I expected for them to tell me why I had a mold problem, where it was coming from and how it could be fixed. Instead I just got a quote for what they would charge to clean the mold that was there. So I basically just paid $200 for them to give me a quote. I'm so made at myself for falling for this. I should have called someone else when they said they charged for the inspection, but they came recommended, and at the time I thought maybe that was industry standard. It is not. Also, while talking to the guy at our house and afterward about the report I has zero confidence that they know what they are doing. I would highly recommend trying someone else. It's a horrible feeling to be mad at yourself for getting ripped off. read more
