We are a medical facility updating our computers and my computer person recommended Micro Center. On March 1st, 2011 I made a big purchase and once we (my computer tech & I) returned to the office we connected a monitor that we purchased for $239.00. Once we powered everything up we noticed the screen was cracked. When returning the monitor Josh the store representative refused to accept the return stating it was a "stress fracture". Josh more or less indicated our office broke the monitor. I watched my tech take it out of the box, power it up and it was broke. I cannot believe a reputable business would conduct business in this manner. Was I suppose to open and power up the item before I left the store? Don't buy anything here, everything is cheaper in NewEgg. I used to buy things that I needed fast, but never again. I bought a defective video card and returned the next day, instead of getting my money back I was charged the same amount again, so far all I have gotten are stupid excuses about a "glitch on their system", I haven't get my $522 back, Microcenter sucks big time !!!!!!!!!! read more

I've always heard of Micro Center but never really bothered to check the store out as I always made my computer part purchases online. I'm really glad I decided to make the trip down. Their prices are insanely cheap and I recently found out that they match online sites such as Newegg and Tigerdirect, which are typically the cheapest places to grab your parts anyway. However don't go in expecting them to match Amazon. The sales staff has always been helpful to point me in the right direction when needed and the cashiers have always been very social and nice. My most recent visit was for an item I had "thought" I'd seen on their website for $60 so I decided to head down after work one day to grab it. Upon arriving and finding said item it was actually at stock price for $90 so I let the sales guy know that I would look around for an alternative. He insisted that we check online and looked up the item on the Micro Center website on the spot. With no luck he informed me of the price matching (which I had no idea of at the time) and proceeded to check Newegg himself to try to find me a better price. A few minutes later I left the store spending even LESS than I originally intended. All other visits have been super quick and super cheap so I highly recommend this place if you're wanting your electronics quick with little out of pocket expense. read more

18 months ago purchased an Acer laptop and added a two year service agreement. After the second mother board blew, they totaled the computer and offered me the remainder of the service agreement ($230) and gave me the hard drive. Was not happy so asked for store manager. Another manager said policy was to refund full purchase price if warranty would not cover repairs. So full price ($450) was refunded in a gift card. That seemed reasonable. Had to pay sales tax and another service plan, but figured that was the rent on the Acer. My advice is do not buy an Acer and ask for a manager. Did meet the store manager who was walking the floor. He actually was helpful. read more

I was visiting my parents in Columbus for Xmas and on my way from Chicago, TSA cracked my MacBook Air screen. I dropped my computer to repair on the 22nd of December. I got a call that the repair was finished the 24th, and I collected it the 26th, before my return to Chicago. The service, turnaround, and professionalism were stellar. read more

Having completely given up on Best Buy, I started going to Micro Center. However, being a female there tends to be a problem. I tend to wait on an average 20+ minutes before being assisted. Well, that is - if I'm assisted at all. My last three visits I've left after the 20 minutes was up. Last week I went there to look at a tablet and laptop with the intent on purchasing both! Two sales men stood in the corner talking to each other the entire time I was there. Another sales man, stocking the shelves, came and assisted the man next to me. Then walked away and went back to stocking the shelve. I will not shop there any longer. I'll purchase the laptop online and since Verizon was helpful they'll get my money for the tablet. Lousy Service and way too long. I'll never buy an Extended Warranty from them again! I took my PC in for service on Wed Apr 20, picked it up on Saturday the the 23rd and was told at the counter that the Mirrored RAID (Two Hard Disks) was broken but it's probably the OS just needs reloaded onto the SSD and I should have NO problem. I got stuck trying to figure out how to fix the RAID so I called their phone support tech and the rep led me through some steps and we discovered one of the hard drives had actually failed! The rep told me I'd need to take it back to store. I did and the rep behind the counter told me the hard drives had passed the test when they had it and they don't mess with RAIDs! I told him then why didn't he check to see why the hard drive had failed. He told me both drives passed all tests before they they called me to pick up the PC. I said then why did the guy at this store tell me the RAID was broken? I then said to this guy, "he should have checked to see why the RAID was broken. He proceeded to tell me again the hard drives passed all tests! Wrong! I had to leave my PC there again and I told them to replace the failed hard drive since I had paid for an Extended Warranty. They he told me I had to provide my own external hard drive for a backup so they would not risk losing my information on the good drive. I asked him why they don't have their own external HDD to do backups. He said they don't have HDDs laying around! That was Tuesday the 26th. I returned to the store on the 27th with the Ext HDD. I called the store on Friday morning because I hadn't yet heard from them and was told the tech had just started working on the PC. I expected a call either Friday eve or Sat morning but still have yet to receive a call from them that it's done! I just can't believe they are taking so long with my PC after I told them on Last Wednesday I needed it by Saturday. It's now been going on eleven days without my PC! Lousy service and warranty! I'll never agian buy an Extended Warranty from this store! read more

I wish there were a negative star rating system on here. I feel betrayed. I feel let down. I have been a customer of Microcenter for 20 years now. I started out going to the Lane Avenue store, then Westerville, and now Bethel. I can not express to you how I have seen the service levels drop. I am a corporate and personal customer. Used to be they would approach you quickly, know your name, help you find a product, and offer advice. Now you have to wait following them around like a lost puppy, ask for a product, explain what that product is / how it is used, they disappear for 5-10 minutes and return stating they were unable to locate it. I have gone to this store wanting to purchase a camera, tablet, and computer at separate times. I left with none of them. You can't get them to take your money even if you try. Recently I have gone twice for a laser toner cartridge. They claimed to have 3 in stock first trip, no dice. Second trip one in stock, no dice. I asked to speak to the sales manager. I shared my concerns with him. He advised he would figure it out. He would locate the cartridge and waive shipping. He would call me "in a bit" to let me know what he found out. That was 3 days ago. I just tried to call to follow up, 17 minute hold. I got online to chat, 12 minutes without anything other than automated response. It really is sad to see how a company that was founded and built up on fundamentals of customer service now has the worst I have ever encountered. Whomever is in charge should really be ashamed how they have let a good thing go to ruin. read more

The products and prices are more than fair. The customer service is awful. I recently received a damaged laptop and scheduled to return it and get a new one. New one was ordered, confirmation email received. I thought I was all set until an email arrived out of nowhere stating my order was canceled due to a billing problem or insufficient stock (as if they don't have the technology to define the problem prior to the email). I called back, another customer representative said he was fixing the problem that they'd get a new computer out to me. No confirmation email. I phoned back today and all they could tell me was that it was canceled due to insufficient stock, information I already knew. Could they help fix the current order? No, that guy is on vacation. I ask "No one else can help.". Response- no, no one else can help you. I'm happy to pay more elsewhere and get good customer service. Don't bother purchasing anything here if you expect any reasonable assistance! read more

i purchased a dell 2 n1 for my 13 son,after thanksgiving.sunday this product choose to quit working.i called micro center and spoke to a customer service person who was really nice and well spoken.this customer service rep says i do have a 12 month warranty but i have to call dell myself,pay to have it shipped to them or have dell give my a repair number for micro center who is a authorized sales/repair for dell and for me to authorized any and all repairs.i was told if dell will not cover it then i have to pay the bill.how does a 12 moth warranty of a product you sell as a authorized dealer have me to do all the leg work and then maybe its covered?this is very poor service and if this was done in any other line of work that place would be on the hook for the warranty as in the business field i work in.i would hope that maybe micro center would do as they say and call dell who they have a contract with and repair/replace this product with out me having to do there job for them. read more
