    a hand holding a cigar
    Gregory G.

This place is easy to find and the staff is helpful. They have large walk-in humidor that is well stocked with varying marcas and vitolas as well as sticks for all budgets. Some nonalcoholic beverages are being sold in a small cooler in the retail area as well as some bagged snacks. You can BYOB in the members area. They have house cutters but I recommend bringing or buying your own as the plastic ones in general don't last very long and can be of dubious quality. They have matches but they're short campfire matches and not cigar matches so bring or buy your own lighter as well. There are a couple nonmember chairs in the shop then a huge member's only area ($10 day pass for nonmembers). This space has multiple sections, tables, chairs, TVs, lockers, a small kitchenette, fridge, and a pool table area. Patrons are friendly and sociable. Highly recommend this place!

Absolutely wonderful cigar shop. We've recently purchased a humidor and were in the market for some good quality cigars the other day and were not disappointed. They have a very large selection, and I even spent $50 on my "girly" cigars. FYI buy the Irish cream truffle ones, they're AMAZING. Even though my lungs don't like me right now (yeah yeah yeah, I know you're not supposed to inhale, it accidentally happens sometimes though) the taste and after taste of the cigar are worth it. The staff were very pleasant, friendly, and welcoming, and we'll definitely be back to smoke in the lounge at some point.

Members' Lounge fit for a king.

The world's perfect place for a night out with the guys, If you can't find a great smoke, you're telling me lies. Come to Mickey Blake's and just relax your mind, In a great atmosphere with a staff that is kind. Thank you to Jason S. for setting up a great UYE and to the staff at Mickey Blake's for making me feel like family. The humidor is packed with an overwhelming amount of cigars, but they are very nicely labeled as to any awards they have won and some house favorites are also ranked. The guys are more than happy to help you pick out the perfect cigar, from small and mild to huge and full-bodied. I'm a wimp when it comes to smokes, so I got a tame cigar. We had the privilege of getting access to the Members' Lounge for the night, and what an experience! Comfy leather couches, big screen TVs, poker tables...the works. The members inside seemed to all be really nice guys, and everyone acted like they were best friends. Very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Another perk of Mickey Blake's is the fact that it is BYOB and right next to a liquor store. You can also BYOF (is that even a term?) Bertucci's is right next door. Finally, there is an indoor golf simulator that took some getting used to, but by the end of the night I was crankin' balls 200 yards off the fairway. Golfing in the dead of winter? Darn tootin'! The public lounge was also very nice. We hung out there for a bit to watch USA take home a bronze in their new BMW bobsled. Will definitely be back.

1.) Just to warm you up (with another lighter): I was invited by Yelper extraordinaire and cigar aficionado, Jason S. He sure knows his shhhhhhhh *beep* I'm new to the game of cigars so today I was shadowing this fine gentleman. 2.) What your eyes may see: Lounge type in the back. Simulated golf courses, public lounge and a members lounge. In the member's lounge are large TVs, liquor bottles displayed, lockers for members to store their goods, fridge for members to store their beverages because it's BYOB, dimly lit, well ventilated, nice leather seats, and classy gentlemen. 3.) The products: An overwhelming amount of mild, medium and "knock the smokes off your butt" cigars from Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic. They sell everything related to smoking and caring for your cigar - lighters, humidors, cases, etc. I tried two cigars - Herrera Esteli and Aging Room F55. Amazing what you can taste from a cigar - cream, buttery, woody, spicy, leathery were just some of the notes I observed. I was overwhelmed. 4.) Staff: Including the patrons, the staff was very helpful. Chris, a nicely dapper young gentleman was full of knowledge. I felt comfortable there. 5.) Impressions: A place I think I'll become a member.

Despite Mickey Blake's expanding into Milford, the service continues to be exceptional! There will be some very upset cigar lounges if any are near the new location because you simply can't beat this world class establishment! One of my favorite ways to unwind with friends after a long day or week!

Great place to stop in and enjoy a cigar. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The members are welcoming to everyone that stops in. The cigar selection has enough variety for every type of cigar smoker out there.

I'm a professional pilot and myself and our other pilot were on a 3 days layover in Hatford. We always try to find cigar lounges wherever we go and I came across this little gem on Yelp. I can tell you, this is the nicest cigar lounge in CT, and the indoor golf made it all the more impressive. Their cigar selection had something for everyone and the gentleman who was helping us was very knowledgable and helpful. The Member lounge was absolutely awesome, with plenty of sitting room, poker table, and TVs everywhere. We will absolutely make this a mandatory stop every time we've got some time in Hartford. Thanks again for the hospitality.

And this is only one section of the lounge.

I've known about this place for a while, and a friend reminded me that they recently changed locations. We were seated in the bar area at a high table and were given two menus: a happy hour menu that lasted until 6 PM and their regular menu. We figured we'd order a few things off of their happy hour menu while it was still going on, then move on to the regular menu after 6 PM, since we knew we'd be there for at least a couple of hours. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, gnocchi, fries, wine, and a white Cosmo to start. My absolute favorite was the grilled shrimp appetizer, even though the other two were very good as well. My friend's favorite was the gnocchi. From the regular menu, I ordered the ham and cheese croquettes and she ordered the regular cheese croquettes since she is vegetarian. We loved those as well. These four tapas were enough to serve as our dinner and we didn't have to order anything else. The service was fantastic and I thought that everything was priced very well. I liked that there was a parking lot right next-door. A friend met us. Later on for a final drink and mentioned that he liked this new location better than the old location. I would definitely return and try different tapas. Their entrées also looked very good. I really like this location because you can walk around and do other things after dinner in the area.

The Brussels sprout salad was top-notch--packed with flavor and one of my favorite dishes of the night. The pasta was also excellent, with a perfectly balanced creamy sauce that wasn't too heavy. I especially liked how they presented all the dessert options, making it fun to choose. We ended up ordering the pistachio cake, but unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite. It tasted much saltier than expected rather than sweet. I'm not sure if it was due to the cream cheese or the pistachios themselves, but the flavor felt a bit off for a dessert. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots. He gave us the rundown of how you're actually supposed to taste tequila. And I have to say I've never had an experience like that before. I wish the party didn't stop and I will definitely be coming back specifically for Agus and of course the drinks!

I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see.
