Be careful with Mike. I'm new to vaping and he sold me a VooPoo Drag for $140, telling me it has all these features and settings. Then while showing me to use it he said not to use any of the extra settings because I dont need them. Well then why did you sell it to me? When I came back and questioned him about taking advantage of me, he refused to admit any wrongdoing and blamed me for trusting him. Then he called the cops on me when I asked for his managers number. I went to another vape shop and got a great piece for $50 and it was better than the $140 one Mike sold me. Yeah they get a needed update. It's just a very cool store. It's a head shop first and foremost, with bongs, pipes, grinders, papers, and just about every single thing you need to smoke, uh, tobacco with. There have got to be 1000+ glass pieces in stock, from a simple bowl to a bong that looks like a glass nuclear warhead. I don't need any of this, ahem, tobacco stuff, but I'm giving Songbirds the ol' 5 stars because I am an enthusiastic vaper. The selection isn't enormous, but there is a good variety of supplies. Best of all, for most items, the prices are only a little higher than online stores. Very admirable considering brick-and-mortar shop markups for vape stuff is usually around 30-50% from online. One particularly popular tank, selling for an abhorrent $53 next door at Artisan Vapor, and a slightly-less nauseating $48 at a particular shop in Meriden, is only $30 here. The BEST you can do online from a US seller is around $27. I'll gladly pay $3 and a little sales tax to take it home immediately! But I didn't buy that tank... I bought an awesome mod for $45... a mod that sells for exactly that price on CHINESE websites, and even more on US sites. So that's an unmitigated bargain. I love it! The girl who works here is really friendly. I wouldn't consider her to be a "Vape expert," though she does have a decent working knowledge. You may wish to familiarize yourself with vape equipment before going in. But even if you are a beginner, I can pretty much guarantee you won't get ripped off, regardless of what you pick. Many great mods in the $30-$50 range, and many great tanks in the $20-30 range. Don't get upsold and pay for the wood paneling and leather couches at other vape shops! read more

I've been through songbirds a number of times in recent years. What songbirds offers up can't be matched. Numerous knowledgable employees. A rotating and excellent selection of brands for hats, hoodies, pants, bags. Instruments and skateboards. Songbirds is a little paradise for me and my friends. The shop has a huge assortment of glass from decorative to supremely functional. All of my personal pieces and ones i've gifted come from this shop. With such a great selection there are not so obvious deals to be found. Don't let the sticker on some of the more grandiose pieces shock you, some pieces are priced so low it feels like stealing. This place would be a really awesome store if you weren't being watched like a hawk the whole time you're in there. The guy follows you around watching your every move, listening to every word you say. It's extremely uncomfortable. However, the jewelery is really nice and they do have some really nice glass pieces.....little over priced, though. read more

My favorite head shop in CT. I've been to most of the big ones (Northern Lights, OG etc.) and while they may have more selection, this place has all quality, name brand stuff for the same price you'd find anywhere AND probably the nicest guy on the planet running the place. There's not a big glass scene in CT yet but I was surprised by the collection at Song Birds. They carry a lot of the big names like Sovereignty and Zach P. Their titanium selection is good too. It's refreshing to see a gallery like theirs. They also had a lot of pieces for lower price ranges. The guys there are easy to talk to, and they play good music. The giftshop is great too. Definitely worth checking out. read more
