Came here with my sister who lives in the area and she swears by their fish tacos and she was delighted with her order. I got the al pastor and they were just ok. I asked for extra Lime, onion and cilantro and got none. They do have a freezer with Mexican popsicles (love the coconut) and homemade ice cream. The ice cream is still in the freezer at home, maybe it will bump this place up to 4 stars. I will update if that is the case. read more

The best fish tacos! So you walk up to the counter, order your food, tell them what toppings on your taco, then you can go find a seat if you plan to dine-in. They call you when your food is ready, you go get it and sit down. Prepare to taste some super yummy tacos!!!! I had the pork (carnitas) on flour tortillas. The pork was very flavorful. I had them put pico, green ?tomatillo sauce, cilantro, and a lime wedge to squeeze on top. There are no complimentary chips here but they are worth buying. The chips were homemade, with a nice salt/pepper seasoning on them. The guac was also homemade...absolutely perfect flavor. I could have eaten two orders of guac by myself. The guac portion was not large. And then, I ate the fish tacos on a delicious corn tortilla. The fish was pan fried, hot, with a perfect salt and pepper seasoning. The taco also had shredded cabbage, and a thin line of light orange creamy dressing was squirted across the top. You pick the toppings or they have a standard fish taco, so this was the standard. The minute you walk in the door you can tell that this is someplace really special. The staff smile at you and they are very friendly -- and they clearly enjoy eachothers' company, too. The fish tacos are simply the BEST I've had outside of Mexico. The first thing they ask you when you put in an order is do you want a variety of tex-mex toppings, or do you want the traditional? If you opt for the traditional, you get a cabbage-lime-hot sauce topping that is AMAZING on top of extra-large pieces of lightly-fried fish. There are 3 huge tacos per serving...it was too much to eat for lunch, so we brought a doggie-bag home and ate the rest for dinner. Leave room for HOME MADE ICE CREAM...which you can find in the freezer by the door. I had Cappuccino and my husband had Corn (yes, Corn!) and they were both delicious. Lastly, and I think this says EVERYTHING about this restaurant...I left a scarf there by mistake, which happened to be a very special present from my mother...I called the restaurant, they found it, and they mailed my scarf back to me. Who does that??? Seriously KIND people do that. And I think that says it all about how this food is not only seriously great food, but it is food cooked with love. Tried this little taco place for the first time yesterday. We walked in and ordered our tacos and they are made right in front of you. The employees are extremely nice and helpful. I got 3 veggie tacos on corn tortillas. There are a variety of toppings that are available to choose from. My boyfriend ordered 3 tacos: one chorizo, one chicken, and one beef. The total was a bit over $20 with 2 drinks. To me this seemed a little bit high for tacos, but the food was very fresh and yummy. There is seating but we took the tacos to-go. I ate here one time and I liked it a lot. Why just 4 stars? No diet coke and no indoor seating - it was during the late July heat wave when I visited and I just did not want to eat outside! I had a burrito here and it was great. Generous helpings of very fresh tasty ingredients assembled to order before your eyes. The menu has more then burritos, and everyone looked like they were happy with their choices because there were some folks who were obviously regulars. We were driving through Kennett at lunch time, so obviously tacos were a must, the question was where. I have tried Michoacana;s other location that sells ice cream, but had never tried their tacos. Decision made. Ordering tacos here should be familiar for anyone who has ever been to a Chipotle. You pick what you want and they make it in front of you. I tried a beef and a chicken soft taco and my fiance had a burrito. The tacos were fresh and good and the burrito was massive and filling. All in all, an ok stop, but nothing more. Michoacana is so good that Taco Bell will never be able to take a foothold in this town. They have a simple menu that covers everything you could desire from a quick Mexican food spot - tacos, burritos, chips and guacamole. They carry a variety of Mexican pop and Coke. Order at the counter and take your food to the small no frills, but clean , dining area. There is no table service but the staff behind the counter are sweet and helpful. Stopped by after a trip to Longwood Gardens. We were a party of 3 and we each ordered a pork burrito with the works and then shared an order of chips with pico and guacamole. We could probably just ordered 1 burrito and the chips. The burritos were huge. The pork was very well seasoned. The guacamole and pico were fresh and flavorful. I cannot say enough about this place...except that I'm glad the lines aren't as long as when they first opened! Even with a line though, this place is soooooooo worth the wait. My fav is anything with the PORK.... I don't know what they do to it, but it is the most amazing pork I've ever had. I've tried to duplicate with NO luck....so, I guess I need to keep coming here. Good and bad. And downright horrible. Service was an absolute zero for me. Walked in to be greeted by the back of the cashier/ manager/ owner or whatever she is. She was talking to the three children who were working there, who were all looking at me stand there waiting to order. After a good 30 seconds I broke out with a, "hi," to which the elder woman turned around slowly and looked at me as if I had interrupted her. So I began to order the fish taco, traditional mild. The second I was finished saying fish taco she turned her back to me again. So I asked, "do you need me to lay now?" She snapped at me,, "fish is ready in five minutes," and turned right back around. What an a-hole. Seriously an a-hole Ok, so let's get to the taco. Low quality fish, but it's not breaded so that's a big plus for me. The toppings added some good flavor. They finish it off with a "special sauce," which seriously tasted like McDonald's Special Sauce. I'll probably skip it if any of my friends make me go here again. I had to try their ice cream, since it's homemade. Tried the corn ice cream. Interesting taste. Not bad. The behavior of service professionals I encounter is very important to me. It's official. I think I'm addicted. I've been here everyday for the past week, with my first time being the Thursday before. I've always been into tacos in general, but I never knew it could be THIS good. Combinations are endless and I feel as though there are so many things for me to try but it's hard to stray from something you think is your favorite. I haven't been disappointed with anything I've ordered so far: salad bowl with chicken; soft taco with steak; crunchy taco with chicken; and crunchy taco with pork. I have yet to try the fish tacos everyone raves about and believe I would enjoy the nachos, since I prefer crunchy food... which brings me to the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars.... I wish the salad bowl (which is HUGE, by the way) came in a taco bowl. I enjoy having some crunch with my food and really wish they started a taco bowl to hold the taco salad.. or maybe I can just ask them to crush some crunchy tacos in there for me :) Anyway, they do the best they can with what they've got, trying to move the line quickly but some days the line moves slowly because customers are waiting on more pork, fish, chicken, etc... I haven't sat and dined here but it looks small and slightly uncomfortable since it's shoved off to the side. Originally my boyfriend and I were going to head to Longwood Gardens to see the Christmas lights. They ended up being sold out for the night. The drive there took us a bit over 30 minutes so we decided to grab food. Checked Yelp reviews and figured we'd check this place out. The way you order is similar to chipotle. The food however is WAY better!! You can order SHRIMP on your burrito!!! They also had an amazing hot sauce called Valentina that I will be looking for on my next trip to the grocery store! Legit Mexican fare! Fish and shrimp tacos are made to order from scratch. There is a container of pickled peppers and onions plopped on the counter. I'm so glad I stopped here! I drive by every day on my way to work and when I needed to stick in town for a late meeting I thought I'd try this restaurant for an easy dinner. The food was delicious and the customer service was fantastic. The menu is simple but there are a lot of ways to customize your food. There's a very nice area for outdoor seating as well as a good sized dining room. I visited Michoacana Grill during lunch. It oriented as a take-out restaurant - there is only one table for seating. However, parking is fairly easy with several 15-minute off-street spaces accessible from Cypress Street. The inside was clean and the staff was well-presented. I should also note that there were no language barriers and the staff conversed fluently in both English and Spanish. My first impression was that it is similar to a Chipotle or Qdoba, with a burrito line that allows you to see your burrito being assembled with your choice of ingredients. I appreciated the fact that they offer whole wheat tortillas and brown rice - certainly by no means a low calorie meal (my burrito probably weighed a pound), but personally, these options are still preferable to the bleached white alternatives. Burrito was exceptionally tasty - even as I unwrapped it from the foil, it did not fall apart. And it was not watery (I noticed the man assembling mine take extra care to drain the beans - this probably helped.) The guacamole ($1 extra vs. the $1.50-$2.00 at the national chains) was fresh - some of the best I've had. Overall, it was an excellent lunch and it trumps the other burrito-oriented chains I've been to - tasted better and was more affordable. Not a traditional american-Mexcian restaurant - a master at Mexican grill-style burritos-to-go. I would expect nothing less from the owners of La Michoacana Ice Cream. read more
