This was never made right by the contractor. We have not received any money back or an apology.

I have to say Kevin did a really nice job on the front end. He was thorough and timely with getting us a quote and getting a contract set. That was in April '21. We didn't hear from him again until October when i received a group text forwarded from his supplier regarding materials. Understanding supply and demand being what it is, I would've preferred more communication, but the timeline is what it is. As for the install, the fence itself looks great. They did install a dented panel, which they fixed before they competed the job. They wrapped on a Friday evening, after dark, and completed there walk through with me with flashlights. I asked the installer to have Kevin call me as a follow up and I haven't heard from them since. I was also notified during the walk though that they ruptured my sprinkler lines -- something I knew was possible but didn't know of until the last minute. The real issue is how my yard was left. They worked in the rain all week, so I expected some mud left behind. But I still have clumps of dirt well off the dig line and I've found debris all along throughout the yard, including posts, old bolts and screws, beat up sprinkler lines and chunks of concrete. And I've noticed unfilled footings now that the ground is starting to thaw. While the fence looks great itself, now I have a whole host of new problems that I didn't anticipate. read more

Kevin and his crew are absolutely top notch and I can't recommend them enough! If you want a great fence done right, call Michigan Fence Solutions! We bought a home in Royal Oak on a corner lot and wanted the back yard fenced in for privacy and security. I received multiple quotes from many reputable fence installers, but when Kevin came out, his knowledge, product and warranty were leaps and bounds ahead of all the others. I was convinced just talking to him. I was expecting his quote to come in significantly higher than the others, but to my delight he came in below the other quotes. I wasted no time in booking him. Kevin took care of all the permitting, contacting Miss Dig, etc ... we had to do nothing. Because we are on a corner lot, our fence permit was denied (part of our back and side yard is considered front yard by the city and has fence height restrictions). Kevin wasted no time and put in an appeal with the zoning board and even went as far as to represent us at the zoning board of appeals meeting. The board approved our appeal and a few days later, Kevin's crew had the fence in place. The fence is absolutely stunning, built extremely well and I get people commenting on how much they like the fence every day. People driving by stop and comment on how beautiful it is, even when we meet neighbors that live a block or two away, they say "oh, you're the house with the awesome fence!" read more

We hired Kevin from Michigan Fence Solutions to install a privacy fence. It came with a 4 year warranty on installation. Before he left the job site we pointed out that the fence was 6 inches higher on one side of the driveway then on the other side of the driveway. He promised to fix it. That was 5 months ago. Once he got his money he ignored emails, texts and phone calls. Just ghosted us. The contract required him to get a permit from the city to install the fence. Kevin said he would not even dig one shovel of dirt without the permit. We paid him for the permit. He never pulled a permit and pocketed the money himself. Part of the installation was along the border of a neighbor on the back lot line. They agreed to have their old fence pulled out and allow our fence to go up on the lot line. They had an older dog and were worried about him getting out while the fence was down. Kevin agreed to work on that one section and get it pulled out and the new fence in that area installed on the same day or two. He pulled out the fence and left it open for a week without touching the area. When we pointed out he was endangering the neighbors dog, his response was "So what, that dog is on his last legs anyway." Once he has your money you have no way to get him to correct his mistakes. I called and left a message for a quote. He called back the next day and set up a date and time for a quote. He was timely and nice at this point. When the date came for him to do the quote, he was just a few minutes behind, but he called to let me know that he'd be running a couple minutes late. No big deal. He showed up and was nice. We walked around the backyard for about 15-20 minutes for the quote. He measured everything and we talked about where gates would go, where to cut the fence off, etc. All seemed to go very well. Then he handed me a folder of information, including his last 4 years of Angie's list recommendations or whatever. Seemed very professional and official. He then told me to wait about 48 hours for a quote. And if I didn't hear from him, to shoot him a quick email. Great. Easy. Works for me. That's where all contact stopped... I waited about 4 days or so. Then I emailed him simply with a reminder for the quote. He didn't respond. So I waited about 2-3 days or so. So I double checked the email address and sent him another email. Waited another week. Still nothing. So I called the company, and they didn't answer, at 3:00 in the afternoon. So I left a nice, calm voicemail. Thinking, hey, maybe he's just not an email guy. And I haven't heard from him since. He came to my house to measure and everything more than a month ago. You'd think that even if god forbid my attempts to contact him had failed that he would have contacted me at this point with some sort of follow up. Nope. Nothing I haven't heard anything from him since. Up to the day that he came out to measure the yard, everything was very good. He was very timely and professional and helpful. Then all of the sudden it stopped. I am very disappointed in how poorly he handled this. read more

I was having my house built and my builder recommended his builder to do the job. The quote I got was ridiculously expensive. My brother in law told me to call Kevin at Michigan Fence Solutions since he had done a great job for him. The price I got was almost 40 percent less than what I got from my builder. Kevin T. and his crew did a great job installing 122 feet of fencing on July 31 and August 1, 2017 (including a pedestrian gate) on two sides of our property. Kevin came out on a Saturday in May and met with us to discuss our fencing needs, explained the differences between wood and vinyl materials and installation and helped us determine which material would be best for our needs. He also explained the difference between some of the different vinyl products on the market. We ended up going with stone/khaki Vinyl and are very happy with our selection and the quality of the fence and installation. Our installation included drilling several holes in our concrete driveway. The holes were drilled neatly and well spaced and measured. We are happy with the whole job. The price was fair compared to another contractor we met with for like materials and length of fence. Kevin provided more details about the job and a detailed quote that made us more comfortable with his company. Kevin even called us a week or so after installation (in addition to pre-installation date confirmation emails and communication) to make sure we were happy with the job. Lead time for us from the word go was about 8 weeks which is normal for contractors we spoke with. read more
