I just finished 6 weeks of PT for a pinched nerve in my shoulder that, in addition to causing a lot…read moreof pain, also left me with numbness in my left hand. When I started here I was struggling to sleep since the pain was worse at night and any position I sat in sent pins and needles down my arm to fingertips. Working on my pottery (my current creative outlet) was difficult as I couldn't feel the tips of 2 of my 5 fingers. Makes things kinda tough when you're relying on gentle touch on a wheel. I was exhausted, sad, and stressed. But I'm happy to report that after my time here, I have regained all feeling in my hand, the pain is all but gone, and I only get intermittent tingling down my arm and when I do it's far less intense. Dave and his amazing team implemented a number of techniques including cupping, e-stim, exercises, dry needling, traction, heat, and stretching that all combined to get me back on track. He also provided me with exercises and techniques I could continue at home to make sure I continue to improve and also keep future nerve issues at bay. I could cry I'm so happy with how things turned out. Thank you, Dave for giving me full use of my hand back and for sharing great conversations around music all the while. Also shout out to Anna for being such a joy to communicate with as I was getting set up, maintaining my schedule, etc. In fact, everyone here was so personable and my appointments just flew by each time I went in. I hope I never need to visit again but I feel confident that they would get me back in business ASAP if so!

I have been going to Healing Hands for a few weeks for head & neck pain. The people at the front…read moredesk are wizards. Super nice, quick, knowledgeable. The customer service at the front is awesome. So far I have seen Katie and Keli. I have gotten the best results so far from Keli but they use do very different techniques. Katie does visceral manipulation and Keli does craniosacral. Sometimes the craniosacral gives me more pain later in the day. The scheduling is a little frustrating because they don't go past 5 and they don't work a full monday-friday. I try to schedule it before I start with work but can't always make it if I end up having a 9 am appt. I wish they had extended hours after 5 so that I could get in more regularly

Went to Healing Hands for multiple medical issues needing physical therapy at the same time. Amira…read moreand her team are wonderful. I appreciated the private treatment rooms and the care and concern that I encountered from everyone at Healing Hands. I found noticeable improvement for issues that I've struggled with for years and didn't think there was any help for them. I also greatly appreciate the trauma-informed therapy that each team member I encounter was versed in. One of the issues I went to Healing Hands was a significant TBI that left me in a lot of distress, emotionally and physically. I received Bowen Technique by Keli Schneberger and it was remarkable the differences I felt by what seems to be just light rhythmic touches. As Healing Hands didn't offer vestibular PT for concussion, I went to UM for that. The costs of PT through UM were astronomical because UM charges "hospital services" that ended up costing me over 4X what I had to pay with Healing Hands. I can't say enough good things about the entire Healing Hands Team. I know where I'll go for my next PT. I've already recommended them and my friend is also finding tremendous relief with Healing Hands.

Physical therapy is supposed to make you better. Not only did I not get better, I got worse. A lot…read more And quickly. Probility's set up is designed for maximum patient through-put, not care. After 1/2 hour with a therapist, you get sent to the "exercise area" where you see someone--a different person each time, so there is no continuity--who tells you what exercises to do. That is, when they're not folding towels or chatting with each other. But the exercises are clearly from a one-size-fits-all list. On my second visit I was told to do an exercise which made my pain much worse, on the spot. The next visit, a different exercise person told me to do the SAME exercise. Clearly they don't bother with anything as boring as documentation. On my final visit, when everything I was told to do made my pain even worse, I was handed a small ball and told to "find the place that hurts" and roll up against a wall. Really? DIY treatment??? And I'm paying for this??? My therapist--not the exercise person, but the one with a degree--actually stated that "physical therapy is a wave; you get better, you get worse, you get better again". *Wrong*. I've had physical therapy for various injuries over a lot of years. Previous PT always resulted in slow but steady improvement. Not once did I ever get worse through treatment. Until now. There is a pervasive attitude of indifference in the whole facility. Therapists chit-chat to each other, over your head like you're not even there, while they're working on you. Not only is it rude and dismissive, but I'm there because some part of my body isn't working correctly and that's what needs attention--not last night's baseball scores. Competent, focused PT can't be "phoned in". I told my doctor about all of this--and my decline was obvious--and requested a referral to U of M. It was granted immediately. There is a wait for U of M (vs Probility, who could see me a week from when I first called which now makes perfect sense) but it will be worth it for competent care and recovery. Stay away from these people. They do harm.

On its website, Probility prominently offers a Free Same Day Injury Assessment, a brief, simple…read moreappointment to determine whether follow-up physical therapy is appropriate. This is exactly what I need. The website places no restrictions on making such an assessment. I spent 30 minutes calling the various locations and finally found one that had an opening today. Then, 30 minutes later, a person called me back to cancel the appointment. She told me that even though I have a BCBS policy that covers physical therapy without the need for a referral, that because I also have Medicare, I would not be eligible for the free assessment. This makes no sense, as it means that I am being punished for having Medicare in addition to my BCBS policy. If this is true, the Probility website should warn readers that the assessment is not available to Medicare patients, even those that have additional coverage. In addition, the person who cancelled my appointment had zero empathy for the ridiculous policy. A total waste of my time today and I will never consider going to Probility again.

The second time was this past June when she was recovering from a gallbladder episode and that too went well. She had another gallbladder episode in Sept which necessitated the removal of her gallbladder and this time her time at the Redies Center was definitely sub par. We found out after we checked her out this week that they had been giving her an anti-depressant to "stimulate her appetite" which her regular dr then informed us has the unwelcome side effect of making a older person very sleepy. So no wonder once they started giving her that, she was unable to attend physical therapy which then created a scenario in which Medicare would not allow her to stay. She went from being fairly alert one week to being practically comatose when I came the next week. I truly thought she was dying when I saw her condition. Her friends who were visiting daily and keeping an eye on her told me that they were not showering her regularly and there were several episodes where they found her medication lying on the floor. I had asked the Redies to give me regular updates to let me know if there were any issues with her not participating in things and I never got one phone call. Then I find out they are discharging her for lack of progress. Well no wonder she wasn't progressing because she was basically being sedated. If I ever had to get rehab for her again, it would not be there.
