Okay, so I'm both an anxious person and a procrastinator. It's not a great combination. Last…read moresummer, a certain nationwide auto repair place told me that I needed all new brakes & strongly implied that I would not be safe through the winter if I didn't get them. I didn't take the bait, but it sat in the back of my head as this dire thing & I paid crazy levels of attention to my braking speed. But it never felt like I was having a problem, so maybe it was okay? (Procrastination.) But every intersection made my pulse race. (Anxiety.) In January, I hit a piece of semi-truck tire on the freeway. Soon after, I developed a rattle that seemed to be coming from under my car. By mid-March, I worked up my courage to call around and find a place that could check it out. I picked Pinkalla kinda because it was on my way to work. (Aren't I a responsible adult?) I only mentioned the rattle. (Because adulting fail.) I dropped it off on a Wednesday morning, and by mid-afternoon the owner of the shop called me back & said that the rattle was just a loose heat shield, so they just put larger washers around the bolts & there would be no cost. No. Cost. What? Okay, so since my budget isn't going to be whacked by my muffler falling off (it's the only part I know that's under a car), I asked them to look at my brakes. I asked them to do this somewhere around 2 or 3 pm. In a little bit, the owner called back again & said that my back brakes were dandy, but that I could use new front brakes. Great! Do them, please! And they did, and still had my car ready by the time I got off work even though I'd only thrown this new thing at them 3/4ths of the way through the day. When I went to pick it up, they showed me the old brakes & how much pad or whatever they had left, and everything felt so on the up & up. I'm a customer for life. (Or for however long I live in this area.) TL;DR They don't scam you for every dime, and they're super quick despite being a tiny operation.

I've had my car there 3 times for service since they first opened their doors a few months ago. In…read moreeach case, I was totally satisfied with the quality of the work done. The first time, I had a coolant leak and the mechanic actually SHOWED me where it was leaking. Actually seeing the problem with my own eyes when the car was on the lift immediately made me feel that they can be trusted. They fixed that problem, did some other overdue maintenance work, and the car's been running much better now, zero problems. The only minor problem I had was that I asked for the parts to be returned to me, and they weren't. That really wasn't a big deal since my driveway isn't full of coolant spots any more. I thought the price for this repair was entirely fair. The second time was a problem that couldn't be duplicated when I was driving it while the tech was in the car with me. Ah well... They didn't charge me for that visit. The most recent visit was exceptional. I managed to get the end of a gas funnel stuck in the neck of my gas tank. This caused all kinds of problems when I'd fill up with gas at Kwik Trip. I tried to fish it out myself, but couldn't. I brought it to the dealership, and they told me they couldn't see it or get it out after allegedly scoping it out. The dealership charged me for that visit. I know they have bills to pay, so I was OK with that. On a whim, I brought it to the new Meineke (formerly Pope Autoworx). I told them what happened and that I wanted them to try to get it out, but I'd pay for an hour of time, no matter what. I told them that I wanted to save the part so I could see it. Well... THEY GOT IT OUT!!!!! The dedication, time and effort that they showed me in actually FIXING this problem impressed the hell out of me. I do my own oil changes and brake jobs, but for nearly everything else, this Meineke garage will be my first call.

We were first directed to Ryan Road Auto in late 2014, and our initial interactions impressed us so much that we've given them our business another half-dozen time since. The guys at this shop have been nothing but helpful, empathetic, patient, and kind to me and my family. I've received quotes for everything from brakes to O2 sensors, and they consistently come in significantly below their local competitors. They stand by their work and value their customers in a very visible, tangible way, and I've come to appreciate their availability immensely. I've only needed to go elsewhere once, when same-day attention wasn't possible, and let's just say that in the future, I'll do my best to wait for the best. Strongly recommend these guys. You can trust them with your keys and your wallet.

I went in and Greg was the man who helped me out by doing what I needed along with something with the valve stem. I'm never too sure when going into a automotive place by myself but never once did I feel like I was going to get jipped by this place. He did what I asked and didn't try to sell me anything else which I was thankful for. The service was also really quick!!! [THE BAD] The first day I called this place to make an appointment. The man I spoke to didn't sound too friendly... maybe because they were all tied up but he told me to bring it in the next day & that's just what I did and sure enough, they were ready & willing to help me out! [THE UGLY] Nada. [& THE BONUS] Greg took my car for spin to test out my new tires and came back with my car all nice & clean! WILL TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO FAMILY & FRIENDS!

I always have great dialogue with Bruce about maintenance, repairs, and enhancements I am planning and executing on my two classics. Right now, we are planning for a crate motor and 700R4 transmission for my Impala this coming winter. Bruce, along with Norm, do most of the classic car work at Franklin. Bruce is always realistic and fair with me about costs, timelines, and has vast experience with a broad array of classic cars from "The Big Three". Every time I go there, I see anywhere from 3-4 other classic cars on lifts or being worked on. And Bruce is not just stuck in the past with "old-think" about these classics. He's up on new-tech as well. He put a new Dakota Digital dash in my Impala and now we're discussing the benefits of EFI vs. carburetors, even though he might be the best carb guy around. Another thing I like about Bruce is that he owns two classic cars himself so he is a fellow enthusiast who shares with me the passion of the hobby I love so much. Finally, and this may not matter to some, but Bruce is deeply involved with the Lions Club and I respect the fact he volunteers in that capacity (I am not in that nor any such endeavor myself). There are a lot of wanna-bees out there who hack on old cars. Or high-end shops that charge an arm-and-a-leg. That's not here. Now go and get that dream car on Ebay Motors with confidence that: 1. It will have issues (that's just the hobby). 2. Bruce can handle them.

I asked about price difference, they said, " we never charged you only $120". I told him I had the receipt yet and he didn't want to hear it. Not to mention they have a young punk take your vehicle for a joy ride. Came back 15 minutes later. Just a warning consumers. I told the guy I was worried something was going to be stolen. My conscience is clear now.
