Okay, so I'm both an anxious person and a procrastinator. It's not a great combination. Last summer, a certain nationwide auto repair place told me that I needed all new brakes & strongly implied that I would not be safe through the winter if I didn't get them. I didn't take the bait, but it sat in the back of my head as this dire thing & I paid crazy levels of attention to my braking speed. But it never felt like I was having a problem, so maybe it was okay? (Procrastination.) But every intersection made my pulse race. (Anxiety.) In January, I hit a piece of semi-truck tire on the freeway. Soon after, I developed a rattle that seemed to be coming from under my car. By mid-March, I worked up my courage to call around and find a place that could check it out. I picked Pinkalla kinda because it was on my way to work. (Aren't I a responsible adult?) I only mentioned the rattle. (Because adulting fail.) I dropped it off on a Wednesday morning, and by mid-afternoon the owner of the shop called me back & said that the rattle was just a loose heat shield, so they just put larger washers around the bolts & there would be no cost. No. Cost. What? Okay, so since my budget isn't going to be whacked by my muffler falling off (it's the only part I know that's under a car), I asked them to look at my brakes. I asked them to do this somewhere around 2 or 3 pm. In a little bit, the owner called back again & said that my back brakes were dandy, but that I could use new front brakes. Great! Do them, please! And they did, and still had my car ready by the time I got off work even though I'd only thrown this new thing at them 3/4ths of the way through the day. When I went to pick it up, they showed me the old brakes & how much pad or whatever they had left, and everything felt so on the up & up. I'm a customer for life. (Or for however long I live in this area.) TL;DR They don't scam you for every dime, and they're super quick despite being a tiny operation. read more

I have been bringing my car to this shop for a couple of years now and have been meaning to write a review since my first experience with them. My first experience with the crew there was to fix my serpentine belts I had replaced at another shop. 2 visits to this other shop still had not fixed the issue of the squealing belt. One visit to Pinkalla (they were recommended by some friends of mine after expressing how frustrated I was of needing a 3rd visit to this other shop for the same problem) and they found the issue and fixed it permanently. My second visit I called to get my car in because I didn't have heat last winter. (Surely you remember how brutally cold it was in 2013/2014). When I spoke with Jared and told him the problem, his reply was " we can't have you driving without heat in this cold, how soon can you get here?" By that evening my radiator was replaced and my car had heat. This last visit to them has blown my mind. After getting urgent recommendations from a quick oil change place, I called Pinkalla to have these "urgent" issues fixed. Within a couple of hours they called to report these "urgent" issues weren't really urgent. We were told by the mechanic that if it was his wife's car, he would do nothing about it now. We were given the option to have it fixed, but it wasn't really an issue and wouldn't be for some time. Wait, what?!?!? Hands down, the best bunch of mechanics I have ever dealt with. Always professional, always courteous and has taken away all my worries of dealing with mechanics. They have a customer for life that will ALWAYS recommend them to anyone who'll listen! read more

Although I had a satisfactory experience when I took my vehicle for an emissions inspection in 2018, aside from the somewhat overbearing woman in the office, my latest experience was like none I have ever encountered before. I arrived for my appointment at 9:00 am, and all the service bays were full. I was told to leave the car. Having no one to call or no other means of transport, I was told they would take me home but could not bring the car to me or take me back to the site when finished. The owner actually told me to take my business elsewhere! I am not used to being treated this way by a business owner, hence my decision to post a review. Beware! read more

I had my auto emission test done in record time today. Shortly before departing, I asked the technician, working on a tough job, if he could check out a warning light on my Infinity. He quickly fixed a problem too hard for another local shop to look at. He saved me a long trip to a Milwaukee dealer. I asked the charge and was told no charge! I then insisted on paying for lunch, the offer was politely refused. I'm strongly recommending the technical and the ethical excellence of this fine shop that has me as a customer for all work needed in the future. AWESOME customer service and conflict resolution! Took my Subaru in for an oil change before a long trip. About 500 miles into my drive, I noticed a fairly bad oil leak! I was so upset. It was 10:00 at night and there was no answer/no voicemail on the shop phone. I sent them a Facebook message. They responded immediately and even gave me their mechanic Jared's phone number. I called him and he discussed some things I could do, he really cared about my troubles. Upon return from my trip, almost 3,000 miles later, I took my car back to look for the problem. It turned out to be a faulty gasket on my oil drain plug. Jared replaced the entire plug, new gasket, and gave me an oil change at no charge. He aired up my tires, refilled my washer fluid, and checked all other fluids - plus a general inspection of my undercarriage and tires. Needless to say, I could have been pissed off because the oil leak did cost me money, time and sanity on my trip - but Jared and the Pinkalla team dealt with me by honestly caring, and fixed the problem. Truth is, the gasket is not really their fault or my fault, we both took a loss, but in the end my car is fixed and they have a customer for life. Thanks Pinkalla!! read more
