I was looking for a one time house cleaning and I tried many of the Yelp recommended House cleaning…read moreservices and was disappointed in what I found. Several of the good ones did not have openings or were difficult to contact. I found Gloria Santos (Owner) on Craig's list. She was able to come to my house and give me a quote one day and was able to schedule the cleaning for the next day. We decided on what was to be done and she gave me a good price for the whole Job. She showed up on time, with an additional worker, and all her cleaning gear, and went strait to cleaning. I had my Kitchen and two bathrooms cleaned and my floors vacuumed and mopped. She finished within the time she estimated and did a good job. We went over several areas that I thought could use additional cleaning and she finished those well. I give her five (5) stars for professionalism, promptness and price. I giver her four (4) stars for the cleaning job, and a (5) Star overall. I understand she works in Sunnyvale and the surrounding areas. She also does weekly and bi-monthly cleaning appointments. I will definitely contact her again when I need my next cleaning.

We like that they had us buy the required cleaning supplies and equipment because we know the products are safe and the reusable supplies get cleaned in our washer. It takes getting used to them showing up empty handed (well, maybe with coffee cups). I think we would prefer if we had the 'option' of getting our own supplies, as we would only get the ones that get reused, like rags and such. Buying all the supplies does add expense when compared to other cleaning services bringing their own supplies and equipment, yet they still charge about the same if not less than Yilda. I think Yilda's team comes from a commercial cleaning background where they don't need to have as much attention to detail. Their cleaning skills are about average to sub par. They miss things a lot (this week the glass top on the dining room table was totally missed), they leave things out of place(speakers, blinds, pictures), and they don't pay attention to detail (even when reminded repeatedly). There does not seem to be a good process or system. Many things are out of their regular cleaning routine, which are not a problem with other services. I have never heard so many excuses from a cleaning service, and we have had various maids for over 20 years. And therein lies the potential issue; maid services may be more accustomed to cleaning households, where commercial cleaners may not have have that sensitivity. Yilda leans more to the latter if there is a distinction to be made. With all this in mind I would still use her services again, but really cannot expect too much.

So when I finally got around to trying to clean the shower doors but only got mild results, I knew I was in trouble. HMH to the rescue! Anna arrived on time and was courteous, helpful and super hard working. HMH uses green products by default, but will use chemical cleaners if the customer ok's it. So armed with a strong cleaner and lots of persistence, Anna managed to remove just about all the lime scales from our shower doors! (The ones still there likely got etched into the glass over time, but they're not too noticeable) For residential cleaning, it costs $57 for them just to show up, with additional charges for every room ($27 for a bathroom); you can also pay extra for them to clean things like your oven or fridge. So I paid $84 and the guy I talked to over the phone said this was for two hours of cleaning, and if the maid finished the bathroom early then they could help me with anything else. This is where the strict pricing breaks down and gets confusing. Since Anna finished the bathroom early, I could've asked her to clean, say, the oven for no extra charge. I had her clean the cooktop and she was very helpful, always asking if there was anything else we wanted done. Overall I'm quite happy with the service I received, even though I failed to notice the coupon code on this Yelp page for $20 off the online booking. I'll make sure to use it next time! But till then, I'm motivated to clean on a more frequent basis!
