Tangles is just down the street from my house and I pass by it everyday so I figured I would give it a try. I called in to make an appointment and Mia was able to schedule me within the hour. There appears to be quite a bit of stylists in there and I must say, on a random Thursday at 4pm, it was busy! They must be doing something right. Great conversationalist. Understood my needs and delivered perfection. Super reasonably priced. I will definitely be back! Side note, come early to find parking. I got lucky, but the lot is small. There is additional parking in the back of the building, but that appeared full too. I would imagine if you schedule an appointment near the time the school next door lets out, the side street could get busy too. Otherwise, great area for business.

Although my stylist was kind and did a nice job on my hair, she charged me over $600. she proceeded to explain that the next time I come in for touchups, it would be a lot less expensive, so I thought I'd give her another chance. For root cover-up, not bleach, trim, wash, and style it was close to $300. Needless to say, I never returned. I choose to leave town to go to my old stylist who has been nothing but fair priced. I'm not sure if this is their typical pricing as I feel like I was taken advantage of.

This review is specifically for Backie!…read more I got married in Lodi and Beckie did my hair. My mom has been going to her for YEARS and she's given me hair cuts here and there over the years but it was a total no-brainer to have her do my hair. I live in the bay area and it was difficult for me to get home to Lodi for a consultation. We ended up doing the consult 2 days before the wedding. She was amazing and did 4 different looks in like an hour and half. Day of she did an AMAZING job. I've added a couple couple of photos... it was a very whimsical, loose up do and amazingly it did NOT move all night. It was picture perfect even at the end of the night. Bottom line: BECKIE IS AWESOME.

As a first-time mom, I was excited to finally treat myself to a haircut, so I stopped by on a Saturday around noon. When I walked in, there were two staff members sitting and no customers. One looked me up and down, and then I was told they were closing right then, even though the posted hours said they close at 5pm. She referred me to other salons nearby that would "greatly take me." I thought maybe it was just an off day, so I decided to give them another try about a month later. Unfortunately, I was turned away again and referred to other salons. I understand that scheduling issues can happen, but it was disappointing to be turned away twice during posted business hours. I ended up taking my business elsewhere and received welcoming service right away.

I'd had high hopes because my husband…read moregets excellent service from Homer's, but I was completely let down today and will never be returning. I made an appointed to have my hair styled this morning. Today is the day of my baby shower and I'm too heavily pregnant to comfortable do my own hair...plus, mama wanted to be pampered a bit, you know? So I called yesterday and asked for an appointment. I was given Donald's number and told to reach out to him. I texted him and described exactly what I wanted: my hair straightened with soft curls added. He responded that he could take me, and we had a plan set for 10am today. I got to VIP before 10am and waited. Donald was late. Okay...no biggie...it happens. I get it. He sat me down and I told him again what I wanted. He worked in silence, beginning to straighten my hair. Mind you, it was about 10:10 by the time he started...and another woman walked in and asked him if he could give her a haircut. He told her yeah and they agreed on 10:30...which was confusing. He still had my style to do though? I figured he knew what he was doing so I didn't say anything. I was really uncomfortable because the lady was just sitting there staring at me, waiting for me to be done. Donald straightened my hair, and did a poor job of it. Which I was expecting; most stylists, when they put curls in my hair, don't make my hair pin-straight. But instead of continuing, he pulled off my cape thing and told me it would be $25. I just looked at him like...excuse me? And then he had the nerve to ask me how much I wanted to give him as a tip since I was using my card. I spoke up and told him that what he'd done was not what we talked about either via text OR when I sat down, and I wasn't happy. I was actually damn near in tears. I looked awful! All he did was vaguely gesture to my hair and tell me "it has a slight curve". Infuriated beyond words and waaaay to pregnant to tactfully handle the situation any further, and because I no longer trusted him, I paid him the $25 and left. I ended up going right around the corner to Salon Michelle, where the owner took me in instantly and fixed the hack job Donald had done. Had he listened to me in the first place, that would have avoided my bad experience. And had he listened to me when I told him he hadn't done what we'd talked about...if he had even TRIED to correct it instead of trying to convince me that my eyes weren't seeing a bad hair job...if he had even just apologized, and not rushed me for a walk in...this situation and my business could have been salvaged. Instead, he ignored me, did a bad rush job on me, took my money anyway, and sent a very pregnant, very stressed out woman away disappointed. I won't ever go back to him or VIP.
