The student from my first visit was really accommodating with her instructor, although I wasn't completely happy with the color. The highlights and blending were great for the most part. The second time, two different students worked on my hair. I showed them peekaboo hair photo references for inspo. They bleached the bottom half of my hair all the way to the roots. I assumed the roots would be blended from dark to light, but I ended up with completely bleached roots instead. My hair looks more like a skunk than soft blonde highlights. I get that it's a risk letting students work on real hair, and I knew the results might not be exactly what I wanted. So just go in knowing that and use at your own risk.

My girlfriend is NOT A FAN of my cosmetological skills, or lack of same. I should rewind a bit. I have curly, sometimes frizzy, nasty hair. It has NEVER LOOKED RIGHT. I'd look at Patrick Dempsey, or Robb Stark, or Chalamet, and I'd say, "y'know what? I could look like that with the right combo of product." Nope. Thousands of dollars of products later, I have never achieved the look I was looking for, until today. Today I crossed paths with Amber Smith. Reportedly, she's the only one that does "guy hair" at Enlighten Salon. I told her my sad tale, she was very reassuring, and said "you'll see, you'll look great". And proceeded to give me (and I love my mom more than life itself) the best damn haircut I have ever received in damn near 50 years. She even taught me how to style it!! I've literally purchased BOOKS on "curly hair for dudes", and none of that stuff held a candle to Amber's work. Whether you're a guy or a gal, PLEASE check this place out.
