I went to Michelle to hem a bridesmaid dress a week before the wedding. She did a great job and had it back to me a day earlier than I needed even on such short notice. She charged me a fair price to hem my dress ($40), which seemed very reasonable to me. I would call ahead to set up a time to come by because it's a one woman show and if she is busy taking measurements for another customer, you'll have to wait for them to finish up. read more

I brought 2 pair of jeans to Michelle and she did incredible. I had spent about $100 on one pair in the past 2 years trying to get the perfect fit but could never get what I wanted. I told Michelle and she took about 30 minutes making sure they fit the exact way I wanted. This business is conveniently located and Michelle is inexpensive. However, after going to her between 6 and 12 times I have decided not to go back. I always leave feeling frazzled and put off and this last time was the last straw - I was so offended by the rude way she spoke to me this time that I was upset the rest of the day. I wish I could rate this businesses work, but they were not interested in taking my businesses. When I arrived, they were on the phone. They were also attending to another customer, and then on the phone again. When they finally addressed me they said it would be 20 minutes before they could help me. I said that would be fine, I'd come a long way and they'd been highly recommended. This seemed to visibly upset the woman who then explained all the reasons why waiting would be a bad idea. As a retail manager of 15 years of experience I can report that this is either one of two things; a business that cannot keep up with the customers it already has or a business owner that bears some prejudice towards a certain kind of customer and wants to run them off. Maybe I didn't look "Metairie" enough to warrant to be her clientele? Who can say. At either rate, find someplace else to have your suit altered. read more

Michelle's work has really gone down. She was totally unorganized and told me after a month my dress wasn't ready, because she works on people that call to remind her that they need something. I have gone to Michelle's for alterations. The first time I came into town from Morgan City not knowing she was closed for business. She happened to be in the shop just to sew on her off day. When she discovered I was in town for the day she had me come over, did my alteration and I was on my way. She definitely did not have to do that. She has my business.
