After calling in panic about an itchy rash on my neck/shoulders, I was seen for an emergency visit. After 2 minutes, I was immediately told I had shingles. My symptoms? Severe itchiness. I spent 1 week on unnecessary anti-viral medication (Valtrex) that made me tired and unwell, the rash cleared slightly but itching was still severe, keeping me up at night. I had a follow up the next week with noticeably more bumps/blisters down my arm, was told I didn't need more Valtrex and was prescribed a topical steroid. For shingles? I should have known at that point this wasn't shingles, but instead placed my trust in a medical professional who specializes in skin conditions. Two days later, I rushed to the ER as I now had a severe rash on additional parts of my body. After a thorough examination, two ER doctors confirmed this was NEVER shingles - it was poison ivy. They prescribed me an oral steroid (prednisone) and said it would get better in 1-2 days. I saw an additional dermatologist for another opinion and he confirmed it was never shingles, just a severe (and dangerous) allergic reaction to poison ivy. I called Greenwich Point Dermatology to let them know, they apologized for the misdiagnosis and said they would speak to their practice manager. I got a call from the PA who misdiagnosed me and she was unapologetic - she's STILL claiming I may have had shingles, but noted it was difficult to diagnose initially. Really? Because you seemed pretty certain after seeing me for 2 minutes that it was shingles 2 weeks prior, and doubled down on the diagnosis even when I came in for a follow up with a rash that had now spread. I'm looking forward to putting this behind me, but I spent nearly 2 weeks misdiagnosed with shingles, out from work, bedridden and sleeping 15 hours a day with no relief, even contemplating suicide several times, when in reality all I had was untreated poison ivy. I thought I was crazy, was told my issue was a nervous system one, to just calm down and relax. I'm extremely frustrated at the medical irresponsibility of this practice, and the larger issue with our healthcare system refusing to take the time to holistically examine patients and their symptoms. It's all about the money. So sure, if you want fillers and botox, this place may be for you. It's boujee. But if you have a real MEDICAL concern, I'd go somewhere else.

Long story short, i saw someone other than Dr Treiber and when i asked why, they said " Well, everyone sees this woman first". You will have to come back another time to see the Dr. I explained that i had taken off work and wouldn't be able to do that. After a lot of crazy happenings behind the desk they said "you can come back in 2 hrs and the Dr will see you then". Ok, so i went back. Saw the Dr. She wrote down 2 other Dr names that i can see for the dark circles under my eyes and then proceeded to drum up business for Botox and incredibly high priced serum. So, stupid me, already there, i was like.... Ok, lets do botox and buy the serum and see if that helps before i go to these other Dr's whom i didn't know. Upon checkout they promptly gave me an almost $900 bill which they UPON THEMSELVES, NEVER EVER UTTERING ONE WORD ABOUT IT said "we took off $50 off of the $350 consult fee!!!!!!! So, in utter disbelief and the fact that i simply could not walk out without paying, paid. I NEVER EVER SHOULD HAVE PAID. THIS DR AND THE STAFF SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!!! Other Dr's that i had called prior for appt's mentioned a consult fee but if i were to schedule whatever with the Dr, that the fee would be used towards treatment. Dr Treiber should retire and move to Florida and get out of business!!!!!!!!!

When I arrived for my appointment, I was asked for my insurance card which I gave them. The lady then tells me they don't take my insurance and asked if I had another. This front office is filled with inept children. They're extremely out of touch and no amount of training will make them qualified to babysit a rock. Your main job at a doctors office is to inform patients about insurance restrictions at the time the appointment is made. I wasted time and money to get to this place. From what I recall now, the doctor is too busy selling his cosmetic procedures than helping with medical concerns.

I can't speak to their professional competence or skill as doctors, but I had a negative experience…read morewith this practice. The biggest problems for me as a prospective new patient were: (1) Lack of price transparency: they refuse to provide even basic pricing information (for out-of-pocket, cosmetic skin treatments) without a consultation. This forces customers who might otherwise look elsewhere for treatment to schedule a consultation and pay a hefty "consultation fee". SIDENOTE: at the consultation, which lasts all of about 5-10 minutes, I still had to twist the doctor's arm to provide pricing details for the procedures I wanted. (2) The consultation fee: a staff member told me over the phone that the doctors will "usually" apply the $215.00 consultation fee to the cost of future treatments. This information turned out to be wrong and/or misleading. The doctor refused to apply any part of my consultation fee to any future procedures (which would have cost me several thousand dollars). They then explained that the decision to apply the fee to future treatment is actually always a discretionary, case-by-case decision -- this was definitely not the impression I got when I booked the appointment. (3) Bedside manner and staff: in general, the staff was not very friendly (both on my arrival at the office and over the phone) and the doctor was contrarian and aloof. For example, when I repeated some information she gave me back to her (trying to understand it), she goes, "don't put words in my mouth." Based on this experience, I would be wary of dealing with this practice, even if they are technically proficient at what they do.

Lack of Knowledge and Greed are a bad combination.
