Dr Teplitz is an excellent dermatologist. She diagnosed my husband and treated him for a severe skin condition. He immediately started getting better under Dr Teplitz's care. I have also been her patient as well as my daughter and we both are pleased . When my husband need Moh's surgery, Dr Teplitz brought in a surgeon to her office to perform his surgery. Dr Teplitz has moved from her private practice in Tuckahoe to an office in Yonkers with two other dermatologists. I have an appointment with her in May at her new office. read more

I wish I had read the reviews here before making an appointment. You've been warned. I did not meet with the Doctor until AN HOUR AND TEN MINUTES after my appointment time!!!!! An hour and ten minutes!!! Ridiculous. And this was an early hour appt too. My meeting w the doctor didn't even last no more than 15minutes. By the way, the walls here are very, very thin. I can hear EVERY single word coming out of the room next door. Oh. And why was my door not shut completely while I was getting examined? Spreaded butt cheeks and all??! Ugh!! I don't know why anybody would ever want to come back here. Doctor was okay. Front receptionist was nice and friendly. Although while I was waiting in the lobby, I overheard one of the employees say this out loud about another patient ... "She's a b***h. She doesn't like to wait. I had an appointment. Wait over an hour. The two receptionist were talking about other clients using foul language... they kept complaining about how "fucking hot" the room was... let's start with the office yes, I agree with receptionist super hot in there. The wall paint was chipping and dirty. State of the art prices but outdated machinary... Dr Teplitz, is super super unprofessional. Makes you feel horrible when you leave the office. Bad mouth other client violating the HiPPA. Tries to prescribe and recommend treatment that may not be needed or suitable for your skin or the time of year... for Instance recommend glycolic peel which should not be done in the summer months during to the sun exposure. Never fails to remind of how horrible and inconvenience my Insurance is. But rarely charges anything to my insurance. I pay 300 every visit and still acne... will never go back... A year ago I went and had laser treatment..I was told after 10 days I would love this treatment..One year later my face still looks like a burn.. Be very careful what treatments are recommended..Ask for a trial in another area to see how your skin responds..Very disappointed..Never had such a bad experience.. read more

I would be cautious doing peels here. It burnt my face so bad. I called office to tell them I was on retin- a prior to my visit and they advised me it was ok to still continue with peel. I should've known better. Fast forward it brought out severe redness in my cheeks that I never had. Don't do peels it's not worth it at all. I have to say I have never felt so unimportant at a medical office. First of all, she booked 5 patients at the same time and I heard her go to each one of them before me (as I waited in the exam room) and even though I arrived before most of them. I wasn't seen until over an hour! Then my appointment lasted 5 minutes and she was going to charge me $185 for a simple procedure so I declined. Dr. Teplitz is an expert in her field. I hadn't seen her in approximately 7 years but recently suffered from a rash which was misdiagnosed by two other doctors; I needed her help. She kindly saw me within 24 hours of my call. Her treatment and recommendations gave me immediate relief from the pain and itch I was enduring for almost two weeks. BTW: I brought my nephew to her approximately 25 years ago. He was suffering from a bad case of acne. I recently had him send me a photo of his beautiful face so I could show the doctor how flawless his skin is to this day. I thank her for this as well. The treatment made a great difference in the way he, as a teenager, saw himself and gave him confidence. Excellent doctor. Contrary to other opinions, you don't need hours with her when you have a doctor who is smart enough to correct the problem within minutes! read more

STAY AWAY! Extremely unprofessional and rude. Honestly, I don't know how she is able to keep clients. I agree with the first reviewer. She basically saw me for 5-10 minutes before ending the meeting. I barely got the chance to ask questions or relay concerns about my issue. She did get a chance to try to sell me some lame cosmetics that she owns. Dr.Teplitz is ALWAYS selling you something which never bothered me as much until she's partnered up with some mail in pharmacy company that with certain medications she and her staff will tell you(without ever checking) your insurance doesn't cover it! Don't go here if you care about yourself. Left with worse situation than I came in with. Much better dermatologists in the area that won't call you offensive names or make you feel bad about your skin. This is the worst one I've ever been to. Staff is ignorant and she books 3-5 patients all at the same time. You wait 20-30 minutes even if you show up early or on time just for her to look at you for 2 minutes and move on to the next patient. She is very rude and condescending and doesn't know how to talk to people of color properly. Very offensive. Kept advertising her products that insurance won't cover and peels and topicals that do nothing but burn skin. Not to mention she doesn't seem to care what is right for your skin as long as it makes her money. A simple google search will show most of her advice is against the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery's advice. read more

This is rated as one of my worst doctors visits yet. After waiting over an hour to see the doctor I listened to the receptionist and nurses bash the patients as they left the office- I was immediately turned off. Finally go into a room and had to wait another half hour as I'm pretty sure they had lunch Finally the doctor comes in to see me- takes a quick look at me - or what I would say is not enough time to do an exam and tells me she's going to give me a prescription for something. Made my way to the counter to check out and she was waiting there for me explaining what products I should use. Things she hadn't discussed with me in the exam room. Feeling put on the spot I asked her how much the products were which were over hundred dollars. I tell her I rather give the prescription a shot and I'll come back to get the others another time that I didn't have enough money to be spending on extra lotions. She says okay and I go to check out and the receptionist tells me $75 which is nowhere near my co-pay I asked her what it's for and she tells me ur was for something the doctor wanted me to take. Obviously this lady was trying to make some money on her products! Again being put on the spot I politely tell her not today I'll reconsider on the next visit. I was so disgusted I'm even going to call my insurance company. On A sidenote the office was dirty and stuffy Wouldn't recommend this to anyone! read more

Dr.Teplitz is the best dermatologist that I have ever been too. Dr. Teplitz is very professional, knowledgeable and very precise in her diagnosis and treatment plan. Just recently my daughter age 14 had a cartilage ear piercing that was infected. I did not know what to do should I take it out and risk it getting more infected. Dr.Teplitz looked at the ear and recommended alcohol soaks and an ointment. To my surprise, my daughters ear got better and better every day . I was so relieved and very grateful that Dr.Tepliz worked with the problem and still wanted to keep the earring in. My daughter was also prescribed antibiotics as well. If you are looking for a dermatologist, Dr.Teplitz is the best. She also knows how to save your ear piercing. read more

Dr. Teplitz is a wonderful, caring physician who takes her time with each patient. She was able to remove blood vessels with laser surgery to give my complexion a new, improved look by removing red pigments which were difficult to hide under makeup. She is the best! I am from Boston (i.e. brigham and women's, beth israel, mass general...you know where i am going with this review) and there's a level of professionalism that I want. First off let me start by saying I had a 2 PM appointment I got there at 1:56 PM I checked then after filling out all the papers on Zoc Doc which is where I found her because she had great reviews after going to Dr. Neil Goldberg in Bronxville he wasn't that great either so I went to her and I waited in the office for one hour and 17 minutes until she saw me.When she did see me she barely looked at my problem and she took literally two seconds to throw some acid on my callous and she stormed out the room while the nurse was finishing up in the nurse didn't even know how long I'm supposed to keep the bandage she was debating whether it's four hours or 24 hour she had to wait to ask the Doctor but shed already went to another patient and I had many questions and I really wasn't even done talking to her she's a little rude didn't even apologize for being late an hour and seventeen minutes I was about to walk out but my callous was hurting me so much I didn't want to I would never go back to her office again she was very rude. I don't like to play the race game either but there was a Caucasian lady headed to a 245 after she came in at 240 and she was taken at 2:55 meanwhile I was sitting there for an hour and 17 minutes but I guess that's how it is in Bronxville if you don't have blond hair and blue eyes you won't get good service. read more

My very first impression of this office was determined by the staff having a screaming match over their pay plans in front of a full waiting room. After waiting for over an hour, a disinterested medical assistant just assumed I'd be up for a face peel without having seen the doctor. I wouldn't let this girl water my plants, let alone apply an acid solution to my face. When Dr. Teplitz finally saw me, she barely glanced at my skin before trying to sell me on her products without answering any of my questions. In her insulting tone, she asked me repeatedly if I was "confused" about her prescribed regimen (Cleanse and apply topical ointment. I think I can handle it.) Unprofessional and rude, you can see why the staff are at each other's throats--their boss is more interested in making a buck than in treating her patients. read more

The wait was an hour in the waiting room and twenty minutes to actually see the doctor. The receptionist were complaining about how they were triple booked (who's fault is that), negatively spoke about patients after they put down the phone, were rude and abrupt on the phone, and for some reason when the patient paid their copay one receptionist would recap what they were there for. (While I was waiting I literally found out someone had a biopsy, another person lost a few pounds of flesh-dead skin etc.) You can't unhear these things and frankly medical history should remain private. When I finally got an appointment the nurse who brought me to the room was friendly and apologetic. My husband mentioned Dr. T rushed his appointment, so, I specifically told the nurse that I waited one hour so I would not like to be rushed. She didn't rush me. I wouldn't rave and recommend this office but I am new to the area and went off a patient referral. read more

I came to see Dr. Teplitz after being recommended by my Internist to obtain a second opinion about a recent biopsy which was misinterpreted as malignant melanoma. The first dermatologist wanted me to undergo a large excision on my arm without reviewing the slide. Dr Teplitz had the slides reviewed by another dermatopathogist who read the biopsy as benign! Thank G-d for her judgment and patience, she saved me from unnecessary surgery and aggravation. She examined me thoroughly and explained the discrepancy in the pathology reading of the slide. I had a great experience at Dr. teplitz' office. I had a pretty bad acne out break and she took a lot of time explaining how to best care for my skin. She wrote me a few prescriptions that I got thru a mail order pharmacy. I paid nothing out of pocket for 2 of the prescriptions and they were delivered in a couple days right to my door! Dr. Teplitz is an excellent and very professional doctor. Her staff is very accommodating. Even though they are very busy and you may not get a routine appointment right away, if there is an issue or concern Dr. Teplitz will always take time to see you. She is not an alarmist and always gives you the option of waiting and watching or removing a spot that is not suspicious. If she feels something is a concern, she will remove it right then and there and send it for a biopsy. Her office is very prompt in getting back to you with the results. This place is a joke!!!! I had a rash and I went to see Dr. Teplitz cause she was in my insurance network... Instead of giving me a prespriction to fill she sold me on a 3rd party delivery service claiming you can save money... This service is bs! Took me 5 phone calls with them over a week and half, and I never got the cream.. When Dr office called me to confirm a "follow up" appt. I told her nurse that the rash was going away on its own.. She still insisted on me coming in, I told her I didnt want to pay another co pay just to look at me to tell me rash went away... She said the fee would be waived... When I went for the follow up they asked what I was doing there that I didn't have an apt... So I show the appt card and they realized they never marked my appt down... So after waiting 30 min they call me in the room to wait for the Dr. teplitz, she left me in there for 30 min! I could hear her gossiping with other people outside my door as I waited (shes talking about her vacation)... After she apologizes she gives me a hand written prescription which she should've gave me 2 weeks prior!!! As I'm walking out she asks me where I work... this so called "Professional" has the nerve to ask if my job is hiring! She says her friend is looking for a job! (let me remind you i don't know this woman from a hole in the wall!!) ...as I'm walking out they ask for the co pay which they said would be waived, told me that it didn't matter what was told to me that I had to pay it....
