They seemed to have trouble finding the other. Very poor service. Very slow. Took several people are register to figure out the refund. This place has consistently gone downhill in the last six months. Tonight I asked for a 1/4 yard of two fabrics. The store is ill equipped to handle this. There is no fabric cutting table except for a small, mobile one that is not at all enough space to accurately measure and cut bolts of fabric, so you have to take them to framing and whatever employee is available cuts it. Tonight I watched this person butcher both pieces with incorrect measurements as well as crooked cutting with a dull slicer and scissors. I took them up front to the manager to explain that I was not going to purchase them. She was very rude when I tried to show her how huge one piece was and how small the other was. "I don't know math" she said when I told her I asked for a 1/4 yard. I tried to show her how much difference there was between the two pieces and she said "So don't buy them then, whatever". I walked out. This is the second time this week I have had a negative experience when asking for help. Same person cutting fabric was rude and waved her hand in the general direction of where she thought magnets were earlier this week. Combine this with the fact that the shelves are increasingly empty and there are boxes and racks all over the floors. It's starting to look like JoAnns before that went out of business. I went to this Michael's today to get specific items that I located on their website. Had alittle trouble finding the items as they were not on the aisles as specified from the website. However, a store representative assisted me and I was able to get all items I wanted. It was a greater pleasure that the young lady that assisted me advised that one of the items I was purchasing was on clearance for that particular size. Only $2.00! Regular price was $7.99. So of course I brought 2. Didn't buy more than that as I've never used this paint before and I want to make certain it works for my craft project. Worst store and customer service ever! This store has gone downhill so much and is sad because at one time I loved it! Over the last 5 years I have spent in excess of $8000.00. The last few times I have been there the staff has been rude, non helpful. So on to today: I know the store has a limit of 10 people which I am ok with. So upon arrival there are very few cars in the lot which is pleasing especially since there is no line and watch 3 individuals exit the store , bonus right? Wrong. I go wait at the door for about 5 minutes when finally this young lady full of giggles opens the door. I start to walk in when this other lady yells out "he needs a mask" I asked do you have or sell one? Because that was the whole reason for coming here in the first place TO BUY MATERIAL TO MAKE A MASK! Of course they said no. I asked if i could cover my face with my shirt and the answer was no. Left money walking out the door. Found an old bandanna next day went back as I walked in saw 2 women been checked out by the same one who demanded I needed a mask with NO MASK ON! The employee during checkout process was very rude. I was not greeted and she had a poor attitude. I purchased two picture frames. Upon telling her I had a coupon, she replied "you can't use a coupon"; without giving any explanation. My husband showed his military ID for military discount. She rolled her eyes and huffed. She was going to hand me the frames without wrapping or putting in a bag. I asked if she could please wrap them. The employee questioned me and I replied, "yes, they are frames and are fragile." She obviously had no idea the items should be wrapped nor how to wrap (poor training per Michaels). While poorly attempting to wrap the frame the glass breaks. The employee did absolutely nothing to solve this, so I offered to go and get another one. When I returned she was fooling with some duct tape. I patiently stood there for a minute then asked "what do you need the tape for?" She replied, "you want them wrapped." Again, very poor training on Michaels part as tape is not necessary. I told her to give me the paper and I would take care of it. I also had to ask for a bag. Sad to say this is not the first time I've had this type of experience at this location. read more

U can never find anyone when U need help & when U finally do get someone, usually at cash register when UR checking out, they never have answers to questions. Most of the primarily middle-aged female staff are rude. They make U feel like UR a burden rather than a paying customer. Been this way for years. A little understaffed at times plug the staff is polite and helpful. They do get busy and this can create long lines, and with limited help it can be hard to find some assistance, however the staff usually always seems to be helpful and ready to go searching. I definitely feel as though those who've had a poor experience are probably white privileged customer service nightmares whose sense of entitlement is rivaled only by their need to be right all the time. Holy cow. I waited in line for 24 minutes at 6:30 pm on a Friday. This isn't a restaurant. It's a craft store. The sun is also blinding any time in the evening at this store or the adjoining one with the way it's laid out. You have to check out by the huge glass windows and I can barely see what's happening. I asked to return something and then re-buy it with a coupon, and they obliged that. I felt super rushed though with the 20-deep line behind me and the cashier obviously did too as she huffed and puffed at properly wrapping my super breakable stuff. I've been meaning to write this review about an employee that was RIDICULOUSLY RUDE about 2 weeks ago! I agree with the lines being long sometimes, however they CANNOT control the volume of customers. The employee's name was Rudy and boy was he RUDE! I purchased about 4 items and was planning on using the 40% off 1 item and also using the 20% off entire purchase (which I do all the time). Apparently Rudy didn't get the memo and told me this "I'm NOT redeeming both coupons, you can only use 1". I said "Well I do it all the time". His response: "I'm not doing it". I asked to speak with a manager and of course they confirmed 'YOU CAN REDEEM BOTH COUPONS". Afterwards I said "You were EXTREMELY RUDE and that was uncalled for". I'm done with Michaels. I stopped in here earlier this evening not looking for anything in particular. I found a crochet kit that showed you how to crochet little animals with the yarn, crochet hook, and a how-to book. The price was extremely high but I thought, since I found a 40% coupon online, I would buy it. Got all the way to the cashier, she scanned my item and told me I couldn't use my coupon. Why you ask? The item wasn't on sale...it was definitely full price. Because Michaels has a bunch of exclusions on their coupons. By this time I was mad as hell and refused to pay that outrageous price. I read her all the exclusions which none fit the category of what I had. She said that it fell into the category of books...and that most of the name brand items were excluded from the coupons (like Cricut). So I looked on amazon, saw the exact same thing for $10 less, and plan on ordering through them. Michaels is so BS with their coupon policy. I will bever shop here again. read more

I just had something framed there and it was a great experience. Rebecca helped me figure out the cheapest but best option for the item I needed framed, then took great care of it and had it back to me within 2 days. She was definitely a pro at her job and it showed. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the slow cashier lines. They usually will only have one open and the line snakes all around yet i still have difficulty finding help on the floor. This is typical for Michaels. I think they are just really short-staffed. If I could give them no stars I would! I went in with my 6 month old twins and had such an awful experience. I thought I'd be there for 25 mins at the most but was in there for an hour and a half. I asked 4 people for help and literally was told they'd get someone. NO ONE CAME! I had fussy babies by the end of it and couldn't even get everything I wanted. The staff are always there to help. Always helping you if you can't find an item. Also they give you updates on new classes and time frames that you can attend. 1. only bad thing is they didn't have toilet paper in the women's bathroom. But it was nice and clean. Honestly, despite all the other bad reviews, I think they're pretty great. Nothing bugs me more, than an employee attacking you with "Can I help you find anything? How are you doing? Finding everything alright?" Every five minutes. They give you the initial courtesy question, and then let you go your own way, (like a grownup), to find your merry way through the store, and are happy to answer any questions that you approach them with (like a grownup) currently being a retail worker myself, it's a breath of fresh air to both me, and the employee. We know the song and dance, and know it well. They're helpful when you need them, and quietly going about their job when you don't need them to answer a question (or hold your hand and give you a tour of the store). 10/10, and they're better than Hobby Lobby, because you go in knowing what you need, and your wallet thanks you for leaving with what you needed, instead of getting hung up 30 feet in the store and blowing half your paycheck in 30 minutes. I once had an interview here, and let me tell ya.... this one young lady (either an assistant manager or manager *at the time) is a real b!#ch. I couldn't believe my ears when she (literally) yelled at me after I said something to the effect of being available anytime. I'm very careful and try to be positive and polite during interviews and that was the first one I had EVER where the interviewer (already) was yelling* at me. I'm a careful listener and try to be polite, but there's only so much a person can do at an interview to please the interviewer. Makes me wonder if she just didn't like me at first glance and wanted to scare me off. Why else would a person get angry over a Positive Comment at an interview? No other interviewer acted like a wack-job toward me in the past - Total First. So yeah, her personality needs to be hit by a MAC truck - no $#!T. I'm also Older than she is and to experience a nasty attitude at an interview over a *very positive comment* I made was both confusing and insulting. I was probably already dating when she was still in Girl Scouts - b!#ch. She needs to learn manners with her "elders." :P Just my experience. read more
