My hope was that they would bring me a new tire and send me on my way, but unfortunately, they pay for a replacement or tow and since no shops were open, I accepted the tow. The ETA was 90 minutes, I wasn't jazzed about that, but what could you do? In that time, I decided to look up Union Towing to find out what I was in store for. I have to admit, I got nervous quick. Many reviews were not positive and several called out the owner as the problem. That said, some reviews were positive, and the positive reviews called out how nice the driver was. So not really having alternatives, I waited. The driver literally showed up at the 90-minute mark. He introduced himself and was very kind. In my experience, it's usually 20-30 minutes to get hooked and booked, but this driver had my car secure in about 5 minutes. Even better once on the road, he hustled, I've been towed with the driver about 5-10 miles under the posted speed, but y driver maintained the limit. I'll give these guys 5 stars based on the driver, but here are two simple things that truly would have made this 5 star. I would have loved to have heard from the driver saying he was on his way. It also would have been great to get confirmation from Union advising they accepted the contract and would be on time. Everything worked out, but it was an uncomfortable 2 hours in wait.

Luckily it was still daylight and we were able to comfortable hang out until the tow truck arrived (they made good time). The tow truck driver was incredibly helpful; before towing our car, he explored more than one reason the car might not be starting (trying to avoid a tow); he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He in fact correctly identified the problem within a couple of minutes (as we found out the next day from the mechanic). Once it was for sure that we could not get the car going, he obliged to tow the car to our chosen mechanic and once there, he even helped us park the car and fill out the overnight paperwork.
