I had no clue until today how large this location is and in glad it is because they actually had exactly what I was looking for! With October being a Breast Cancer Awareness month the search for all things pink can go one of two ways, really good or really bad when supplies are limited. On the hunt for a pink bandana I was lucky enough to score two different ones to choose from. Even midday there was a little bit of a line at the register but it moved rather quickly. Once there was two customers waiting to check out, I noticed they opened another register to speed up the checkout process. Putting the customer first, I like that!! The sweet lady that checked me out advised that the 40% coupon would work on my purchase and was kind enough to let me look up the coupon on my phone so that I could utilize it. Selection was plentiful of almost everything in the store as they had not only Halloween decorations but Christmas one too!!! If you use a cricket machine then this stores for you as they had a whole aisle plus of goodies for ya! read more

Came in today, Thursday, September 10, 2026, around 6:30 PM, with my 12-year-old daughter to buy glue for a school project. We were in the adhesives aisle, she was about 10 feet from me, when an employee named Silvia walked by and told me, rudely, "Your daughter needs to stay with you." No hello, no offer to help. When I asked what she meant, she said if I didn't like it I could walk away or she'd "write me up as trespassing." I was standing there holding the items I was about to pay for. I asked how a paying customer could be trespassing. She didn't answer, just repeated I could walk away or else. I asked for the manager. She said she was the manager. I asked for her manager. She said she works for herself and owns the store. Michaels is a corporate chain, not a franchise, so that's not possible. The cashier told me the actual store manager is Carla. Two other customers in the aisle saw the whole thing. Both put their items down and walked out. One said out loud, "I'm not giving you my money." I did the same. I've shopped at this location for years and never had a problem until today. Nobody should be threatened with trespassing for shopping with their kid. Not coming back until this is addressed. read more

Half empty shelves. Tried to buy t-shirts. Sizes are missing. How is it hard to put all sizes for all colors? Staff are not very friendly. read more

Worst customer service ever! I used the self checkout to purchase some jewelry jump rings. They rang up as $4.49 even though the sign said $3.49. I went back to the display and checked the serial number and the item matched the sign. Then I went back up front and told the cashier. She said: So you want a refund. I said: I want my dollar back and to pay $3.49. She processes the refund and puts the items behind her. I said that I wanted the item for the price on the sign. She told me that she couldn't do that and questioned whether I looked at the correct sign. Once again, I go back and this time take a picture. She looked at the picture on my phone and rings it up correctly. But, she doesn't give me my phone back. As I was leaving, I asked to talk to the manager. We walked back (as the cashier should have done or called someone else for a price check). The manager thanked me and apologized. No apology from the inept casher though! As I started walking out, the manager called me back to tell me that my phone was there. read more

I ordered an item using a discount coupon and went to the store before I got an email that the order was ready to collect. I was looking for the item when an employee came to pull the item and as it wasn't there she cancelled my order. I then went to the front and talked to a different employee who looked up the item to see if it was available elsewhere local to me. It was but instead of calling them (over Christmas) I ordered the item then and there. However I couldn't add the coupon as it was no longer offered to me (or back in my account) since they had just cancelled the order. The employee told me that when I went to pick up the order I could ask them if they could apply the discount I should have got as there was a way to do that and they would do it for me at their store if that was the case. When I got to the other store (the next day) to pick up my order I asked to speak to a manager. She came and didn't even acknowledge me as waiting before helping an employee who was on a register first. A bad start. When she came to me I told her the story and she said we don't do adjustments and then proceeded to tell what what a long process it would be for them to apply the coupon I didn't get. She said is it really worth the effort for the amount I was going to get back. I calmly replied 'apparently it isn't to you'. And she didn't reply!! I left. I will not shop in that store again. I went back to the first store to tell them the story and they apologized more than once for the other stores behavior. They told me that the company gives discounts to teachers etc. which can be a lot less than the money I was getting off with the coupon. read more

I bought a slime licker and is was leaking and I didn't open it and showed me two flavor online and got the same two of the same flavor

I had a complicated return with some items purchased online and others purchased at another Michaels. Although the company doesn't make it easy to do online returns at stores, Skylar, a manager at this Michaels was so patient and persistent to ensure there was a solution and that I left a satisfied customer. I will definitely return to this Michaels simply because I know the manager there is friendly and customer focused. It makes all the difference in the world. Thanks Skylar! read more

Rude service Cashier was bothered when I asked for a price check. She demanded for me to make a decision instead of price comparisons of bulk item. Store was a mess. read more

A young man named Aaron helped me. He had a great personality, manners, new his job and was pleasant throughout my entire interaction with him. He gives me hope that this generation still has a chance. His parents did a great job raising him and Michaels hired a great kid! I go to Micheals and get my art supplies and other things you would love Micheals it's the best craft store to get some supplies

This place is big and has a nice selection of items if you're into crafting, mind you if this store has more of a general offering so if you're really into a particular art/craft if you're looking for speciality items you won't likely find those here. Finding staff is pretty absent so if you're looking for something good luck in finding someone to help. If you give them your email they do send coupons which is helpful. When planning my wedding I did come here multiple times to find wedding favor type items. Overall great for your arts/crafts projects and also they have a great selection of frames too. read more

Never crowded even on Black Friday and cashiers are really friendly. Offered me another 30% coupon and check-out which was a nice surprise. They also have a 50% coupon for a full price item. read more

Very Crafty! Ha ha Very Good Michals and They have Whatever I need .

If I am looking for something other than yarn, this Michael 's has what I need. But the yarn selection is really sad. I will be going to Hobby Lobby for my next project(s). read more

Honestly, this is a good store to go to for craft stuff. I bake, knit, create and paint and although some of the staff isn't knowledgeable about certain projects, there's usually someone there that you can ask. The staffs normally pretty friendly. I bought a Loops & Threads knitting loom recently and one of the pegs broke off mid project (talk about sucky!). I called and spoke with them and even though I didn't have the receipt (lost it during the Xmas shuffle), they're good with exchanging it for me. I'll be taking it in to exchange in the next couple days, so I'll let you guys know how it works out. My ONLY issue with this store is that it's kinda messy sometimes, back by the yarn area. read more

This is a great location. Big store, variety of merchandise, and easy parking. The sales associate who checked me out (wish I got her name-- red hair and glasses I think and likes to knit) just a minute ago was so sweet and personable. Michaels was smart to hire her. She knows her stuff and made the check out process easy. read more

Staff was helpful, helped me track down something I needed for a project.

The Michaels is in a great location, stocked well, with plenty of parking and it carries everything a beginner needs across every spectrum of the arts. That said, the tend to only carry the basics of just about every field, so intermediate or advanced artists may find the store a bit wanting. But if you're just starting out you'll find everything (and then some) to get your on your artistic career! Michaels tend to focus on towards scrap-booking and decorating crowd, but there's still plenty for the beginning illustrator, sculptor or painter. That aside, the problem with this particular store: heat. The store is ALWAYS hot, the kind of hot where walk outside on a 90 degree day and go "Ahh, that cool breeze!" The store has little to no airflow, and they keep the temp far higher than it should be. It can be really uncomfortable at times. If the store kept its air conditioner up and running I'd give the store 4 stars, but as it is... read more

I like Michaels. They often have much of the art/crafts supplies that I need. They dont always have everything. Even if they do, its not always in stock. I was just in there today and they had no spray primer. I had to go to Home Depot. Also, as a brick and mortar store, the prices are higher than online. However, if you want it right now... For those who use fabrics, JoAnn is almost next door. read more

Having been to all the Michael's in my area, I like the Sterling location the best. Each Michael's has its own personality and each with a heavy focus on one or two product areas...floral, holiday, framing, kid crafts/toys, adult crafts, etc. Which is fine....but, I prefer to shop at clean, organized stores. Sterling's store usually has what I need, the aisles aren't cluttered, the lighting is good, the staff are helpful and friendly. I never feel frazzled there (that's a good thing ) read more

I went to the Sterling store and it is so much cleaner than the Leesburg location. The only complaint that I have is that when I asked where the item I was looking for is located the employee just pointed and said "It is on the far wall." I work in retail and have been trained to take the customer to the item and explain the difference between the products. Overall I would rate my experience as a 4 out of 5. read more

One of the largest and neatest craft stores I have ever been to!! Amazing sales and prices, and the employees were super kind and helpful!!

You can probably call me a frequent shopper at this Michaels location - I go here at least once a week for my crafting needs. There is such a large stock of EVERYTHING that I don't even need to ever end up going to an AC Moore or another craft store. Staff is always friendly and pleasant. I can say that I've been here more than dozens of times and never have had a bad experience dealing with their staff. read more

Jason and Brian are the reason I wanted to write a yelp review for this store. They were both so extremely helpful and knowledgeable that they made it an awesome experience. I had to ask Jason where several items were, items that I didn't even know the actual name for and could only describe. He was able to tell me the exact aisle it was in and offered to drop everything he was doing at the time to show me there. Brian showed me some ways to save some money and make the biggest bang for my buck and offered some discounts I was able to qualify for. Both of them rock and really help this store for the better. read more

The cupcake decorations instructor lacks professionalism and I would not recommend taking a class with her. I cannot address her actual skill but how she speaks to people. I arrived to class ill prepared as I read the instructions that apparently were incorrect. The instructions that were provided upon registration stated that a tour would provided so you purchase the needed supplies. That was wrong how anyone would have known that is beyond me. Even when I showed her the print out she was rude. I also did not have the. Up cakes because I simply brought what was on the print out. I understood the impact and said I'd just reschedule. Her response was her classes were full and she turned away. I have shopped at this store for years. Every time my child has a school project I go there. To purchase crafts I go there. I would never recommend attending one of her classes!!!!!!!! read more

I came here the day after Christmas around 9 pm, because my child lost her rainbow loom hook. She had the starburst pattern all ready to go. So I run to the nearest Michaels to find something that would work or buy a whole new loom. It was 9:02 maybe 9:03 the other night Michaels was open until 11. Doors were locked people still at the registers and they would not let me in. I just want a stupid hook to please my daughter. The employee would not budge and then I called and talked to management, this is the first night we closed at 9... I read more

This is a good place to get supplies. But do not expect knowledgeable staff. I have been here few times and have never had a problem with the service. However unless you want to know where something is or how much it costs do not bother asking they do not know. read more

I have yet to have a good experience at this store. Maybe other Michaels have better customer service and nicer store sales people. This one is TERRIBLE! The first time I went to the store, one of the sales people practically threw me out, even though I just had to grab yarn. She first gave a disgusted look and told me off when I showed up 5 minutes before the store closed and then proceeded to announce on the loud speaker that in 2 minutes the registers were closing. Then, a couple of weeks later I tried to give the store a second chance and tried to buy yarn for crocheting a pot holder. Not only did no one in the store have any idea about the differences between cotton and acrylic yarn, but I was told pointedly that I should read one of the books they had - "Didn't you read one of the books back there? We have a ton of books back there." What type of customer service representative makes you feel GUILTY for not reading a book on products she is selling!?! Once again, I have yet to have a good experience in this store. It's full of miserable people who refuse to help you. Go to the Jo-Ann Fabrics a couple doors away from this store. read more
