That first visit (two years ago) had to be quick, so it was so tough trying to stop myself from looking for supplies for myself. Everything was neatly organized. It's a great place to get your Christmas shopping done! I had more than adequate help from staff with looking for specific art supplies for an 8 year old last Christmas. Water-colour pencils was a hit with the kids! Adding a water-colour friendly sketch book was a nice score. I was glad to find very decent student-quality items at very fair prices. I like that on various visits, different selection of items are on sale. That friend who first told me about Delta was right -- this store has got the best prices on art supplies in the city! I also noted that this store has polymer clay supplies -- if you're into bead-making or baking little figurines. I had a chance to run in here last month while my daughter was at ski lessons and what a treat! Books were on clearance for $1 that day! YES - $1 books! Came home with a giant bag filled with books to overfill our already filled bookshelves! But hey, since when could one have too many books? Once Upon a Child is HANDS DOWN the best consignment store chain for used children's clothing and accessories. I've frequented them in Edmonton for several years now and even visited one in Saskatoon! You can drop off your gently used clothing and toys to trade in for store credit if you'd like as well. They offer a frequent purchaser stamp card to earn discounts and usually have coupons in the SUTP coupon book. They are on facebook and have an e-mail list if you would like advance notice for upcoming sales and specials! They also carry new items like Melissa & Doug at prices below what you would find at Toys R Us. The next day I received an email double confirming my order. I responded to say that I needed the product as soon as possible for an upcoming project. In less than 10 minutes they called me and we discussed my order. One of the items was not in stock and we were able to solve that problem immediately and not cause any delay in my order. As a matter of fact we spoke twice about product, each time they reached out by telephone and we were able to quickly and efficiently find a work around. My new bedroom is in silver, gray, and very pale lilac-- sort of Jean Harlow 1930s glamour, so I was looking for some fabric with a nice shimmer or an actual metallic fabric. Found one! Absolutely gorgeous silvery print-- almost like a shantung. My cutter was super friendly and helpful (I can't think in metric). When she asked what I was creating, I had to explain that I had this board, and it was 24 x 26 inches...). When she told me the price I just about fell over, considering the exorbitant prices Fabricland charges. I think I paid around $22.00 for my find. They now have a customer for life, and I'll come back here FIRST before ever spending a dime in another Fabricland.

The staff is very knowledgeable from traditional methods to the current market of today. Their fabric options and colors are unsurpassed. Amount of notions, rulers and bag/purse hardware is surreal! Store Sales are held so often, because there is always a reason to celebrate us the customer, our birthday, the store birthday, the temperature outside etc. The staff support and help each other, a true team spirit!
