As a passionate crafter, crocheter, scrap booking enthusiast and jewelry maker, I should never enter a craft store without a shopping list. Otherwise, I will just walk around wanting all the sale items. It was easier to leave the store without a lot of items since there are only one or two shopping carts and and they seem dedicated to employees using them to put away inventory. They didn't have shopping baskets. I just don't understand how a store that fuels crafting addictions would not want to make it easy to pile items into a cart. Several aisles were blocked with boxes of merchandise waiting to be put away. After walking around with breakable items in my hands, I finally asked an employee for a shopping cart. She brought one from a hidden area and I was grateful. In addition to not having shopping carts, Michaels is shifting to self check out. There were a few glitches with prices and I would have saved time getting in the longer line with an employee instead of sorting out things at the self checkout. I was driving home and this location was on the way. I would not seek out this location. At least there are still some Virginia stores with lots of shopping carts and more employees on the floor.

I stopped into this store this morning because I had an early appointment nearby and they open at 9 am. After finding the items I wanted, I proceeded to the checkout. All of the cashier stations were recently replaced with self checkout machines. I have a teacher discount so I asked for help. Even the store associates were not sure if that could be done on a self checkout machine. It turned out that it was included. However, having to scan my own large items (picture frames) was not fun. I will not be returning to this location. Many shoppers are using Amazon and other online retailers because of the ease of shopping that way. I prefer to visit brick and mortar stores when I can. However, if there is no or minimal customer service in the physical store, there is no advantage to patronize them. I think it is a mistake. Having one or two self checkouts for people with small items who are in a hurry is fine. Reconfiguring the whole checkout area to include a whole line of those stations is misguided.

This is my absolute favorite arts and craft store in the entire DMV the entire staff here is super friendly and always willing to help you with whatever you need. Ive been living in the Rockville area all my live and this is def the best store for all your craft needs, the coupons are always amazing even better than other stores around. The store is always kept clean and organized. Thank you Sandy for your outstanding customer service there should be more of you in the DMV. If your visiting or live in the area make sure to stop by and take advantage of all the great prices they have to offer.

Nothing much to write. It's a great Michaels. It has everything you need. I went on a Sunday evening. It wasn't busy. All the items are stocked and they offer rows of great items. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Like I said, it's small, so not as much in terms of selection, but I would go to this spot for something basic like glue or scissors.

I wanted to continue supporting it for that reason and for its sense of community, but my experiences have been consistently disappointing. Yesterday was my final straw. I am new to sewing and come in seeking guidance on fabric selection and product education, yet nearly every visit is met with dismissive or rude customer service. The older representatives in particular often do not greet me and respond reluctantly or faintly when I ask for assistance. Help is provided, but it often feels like an inconvenience unless they are in the mood. Yesterday, when I asked a representative at the fabric counter for help understanding a product, she was short-tempered and instead told me they were closing at 5:15 p.m., despite the website listing a 7:30 p.m. closing time. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and disrespectful. At checkout, I asked for a bag for several small tools and fabric. The cashier said they were running low, and etc and tossed the bag at me. This type of behavior has happened on multiple visits and consistently dampens the experience. I truly wanted to like this store, but the repeated lack of basic courtesy--especially toward newer customers--has made me unwilling to return. I hope management takes these ongoing customer service issues seriously.

They've been in business for over 80 years, and their deep sewing knowledge really sets them apart from other stores. Most employees have been here for years--some for decades--which truly shows their dedication and love for what they do. Even the store owners are very dedicated; you'll often see them on the floor greeting customers, which shows how much they care. Courtney is super helpful and really knows pattern making, Linda has been part of G Street for decades, and Leo is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to help. You'll soon know everyone by name because they naturally become your sewing-expertise coaches. I even call them the fabric whisperers because they always seem to know exactly what you need. I bought my sewing machine here with Esther's help--she is so kind and genuinely wants you to succeed long after your purchase. They also offer upholstery services and sewing-machine repairs--both of which have saved me more than once. And I have to give a special shout-out to Lew, the sewing tech. He's the absolute best and always knows exactly how to fix any issue. I can't recommend G Street enough. It's a must-visit for anyone who sews, creates, or simply loves beautiful materials.

Perfectly salty salmon was melting in the mouth. My son said that fried fish was "even better than Irish." I also had shrimp salad and Danish meatballs that were equally satisfying. Ebleskiver - Danish doughnut was great with a bit strawberry jam. According to Eurostat, in Denmark there are 215 pigs per every 100 residents. This means that there are twice as many pigs as people. Great tradition in quality pork shows off as all meat was very tasty. Unfortunately, the beer was nixed few years ago, but there are plenty (food and Christmas decorations) to spend money on. This was my second visit and will not be the last. I wish there was some Danish music or dance in the national costumes. I was happy to support Danish diaspora in our region.

And this bazaar is the ONE chance every year for outsiders to join the Danes (in the greater Washington area) in a little Christmas cheer. It's in the basement... There are baked goods (you know, Danish), open-faced sandwiches, Danish beer (Tuborg) on tap, candles, Christmas decorations, wreathes, candy, delicacies (liver pate) and a raffle. Their are drawbacks to this bazaar: the traffic situation is aggravating (although there are Catholic Danes, it's strange to me that this bazaar is not at a Lutheran church). Also, much of the food is sold out by 1 p.m. (halfway through the bazaar) and to get really picky, the ketchup and mustard are not Danish brands (as I've said, don't get me started on Danish hotdogs!). Then, there are the prices. Four sandwiches cost over $20 and the Danish Danish (Kringle) was $12! Sure it's a lot of food and it would be pricey in Denmark... so, I take it back, that part of the experience is very much like Denmark... But, the signature dishes like the meatballs and the liver paste were a little weak. But, as the Danes would tell me, I'll stop kvetching now (to kvetch=at brokke sig), and say, "Merry Christmas!" (God Jul!)
