Michaels is the largest retailer chain for arts and crafts. They sell a variety of arts and crafts products including scrapbooking, beading, knitting, rubber stamping, home décor items, floral items, kids' crafts, paints, framing, greenery, baking, and many seasonal items. This place is Heaven for those who love do-it-yourself projects. I come here specifically for Christmas holiday decorations. Especially for staircase garlands. But every so often I like to come in to browse around and get ideas for future projects. Michaels is one of those places where you can drop me off at and pick me up hours later. The store is pretty organized by category so you can get everything you need for your own projects. I went to Michael's this past Sunday and purchased a candle. When I got home and took off the lid to light it, I noticed that there was evidence that it had already been used. There was a swirl pattern with a puddle outline that had dried, and the wick had already been burnt. One would think that they would check returned items before putting them back on the floor to sell. read more

During my visit on [01/19/25], I noticed a discrepancy between the displayed price and the price I was charged at checkout. Two of my items had false pricing I went back after purchasing to the shelf's that stated the item and its price to see if I was mistaken but I was not. Love this place because they have absolutely EVERYTHING you need for literally any craft ever. The employees are super young though and not very helpful. I asked multiple employees for help with some stuff I couldn't find and they responded with I don't know and shrugged shoulders, and then just walked away. We are visiting from Nevada and needed materials for repairs. This store has everything and then some. One of the better developed stores I've seen, they have a larger than usual selection of all kinds of crafting materials. Everything that we purchased was between 30% and 50% off. They currently have a great selection of... Wait for it... Halloween and Christmas materials. Two people I spoke with told me the online site has even more discounts. I will look into this when get home. I only wish I could've done it here. Customer service at this location was outstanding. New location in a newer strip mall on the way to the airport. Store is new so clean and organized. The staff was friendly when you were able to find them. That's not this locations fault because I notice this at each Michael's store. The staff is there but there are not a lot of them and they are doing many things so you have to grab them quick if you see them. Prices are standard but It appears that this location does carry a few unusual things. I noticed a large Bunny figure ($600) which I can't recall seeing large expensive items at other Michael's Stores. This is a good choice to shop if close to you though since it's new clean and appears to have an expanded selection of items. read more

A new location for the chain, down by the airport where a bunch of new stores are going in. Since it is new and a part of new construction as well, it's spotless. They are well stocked and have a good size store overall. As is normal for this chain, help is hard to find outside of the frames and at the registers. But if you know what you want you should be fine. Their seasonal items are always great and this location lives up to that as well. Overall: A New, clean, well organized addition to the chain. read more

Visited this store and did not realize sale items were final. They have a small sign posted by the register that I clearly did not see. During checkout the cashier did not mention that the sale was final. When I asked to speak to the manger she explained that it was final and I recommended that the cashier should tell people the sale is final during checkout and she brushed it off. I also asked for the corporate number which she would not give me and as I was walkout she said they are just going to tell you the same thing which was not necessary for her to say. I have been in this store several times and the customer service is horrible no body knows anything or cares. I did call corporate and they did not tell me the same thing as the manager suggested they would. read more

My friend and I are trying to motivate each other to take more steps each day (we each have one of those electronic fitness trackers). So, if she gets 5,000 for 7 days straight she gets washi tape and if I do the same, I get cheese (yes, cheese - I like cheese and am an odd bird). My friend met her goal and so I ventured out to Michaels for her washi tape. For those of you (like myself, pre-fitness deal with my friend) who don't know what washi tape is, it's a small roll of decorative tape used to decorate scrapbooks, planners, etc. Michaels is a large craft store (a chain) and this one is located in a fairly new shopping plaza near the Orlando International Airport. No one greeted me (which is odd since most businesses make it protocol for their employees to greet customers upon entering the store) and all employees that I saw did not make eye contact (with any customer) or smile or offer to help locate an item. They seemed busy-ish (but not so much so) moving around items on shelves or walking quickly to the back on some unknown mission (or maybe they had to pee - who knows). I had never bought washi tape, so I spent some time having to hunt for this and some help would be greatly appreciated. I finally found the elusive washi tape, I had to wait in line for a while (I've experienced this in other craft stores as well, so maybe it's just the way it is) and the cashier was just "meh" - no personality shining through, no smile, but got the job done. Now, I do want to point out some positive aspects of Michaels. They send out coupons if you get on their mailing list and they also honor coupons from that other one name craft store. They also do a good job with signage throughout the store informing customers of sales and special deals going on. So, although my experience was less than stellar, I do recognize that there are some things that Michaels does right. read more

This is a brand-new Michaels located near Orlando international airport. This store is absolutely massive. When it comes to crafts, if Michaels does not have it, then they don't make it. On my visit that day I found the store immaculately clean. The store is very well laid out. All of the employees that I encountered that day were very professional, and very friendly. Now I've been to quite a few Micheals stores in my life, especially more so since I was gifted a Cricut. I was online shopping/browsing this morning and realized that they had HTV vinyl on sale plus they had their 20% off total purchase coupon today. So I had started to load my cart up and nothing I wanted/needed was available at my local store.. but everything was at the Lee Vista store. It was a quick 25 minutes out here and it wasn't to disappoint. This Micheals was probably one the of most well laid out stores, stocked full of different items and around every corner was a friendly employee helping customers. I went in specifically for HTV Siser vinyl as it was on sale online and after talking to one of the employees she confirmed it was also on sale in store. I questioned why there was no sign to advertise the sale (40% off) and she told me it was to lure people to do a lot of buy online and pickup in store. I get it. I was there to do just that- but I've worked retail before, I also think if it was on sale there should've been a sign. A tip I learned recently when looking for vinyl (& I'm assuming other things) is those black drawer looking things on the floor are FULL of inventory to be put on the floor. For instance on the display for vinyl the rolls are on the hooks, the sheets of vinyl are in the trays and then below the display is the black industrial drawer/bucket full of stuff that will eventually get stocked. Overall it's a great location, kept nice and clean and has great employees! A customer shared with me In line that Michaels accepts competitor coupons. That was something new for me.. I didn't realize it. I tried today when checking out and she wouldn't let me b/c the competitor coupon was for the exact thing as the Michaels coupon I had. read more

Anyone who knows my wife and I knows we frequent Michaels. This location is out by the airport, and it's very well kept. It is newer construction as is the rest of the area. There's a large selection of arts and crafts supplies, it is clean, well-organized, and kept up. There's always staff available if you have questions. If you have the Michaels app on your phone, there's always coupons as well, and they usually take competitor's coupons as well. They usually have weekly specials, so you can save a lot of extra money there also. If this Michaels location is convenient to you, by all means check them out. If the one by you isn't quite so nice, this would be a great one for you to try. read more

A+ for a place that inspires the craftiness and creativity! This location is brand new and gets busy. Don't know what to tell you about those hand carts with wheels. The isles are so small that I don't think one of those and a regular cart can fit. The place is another the same size as other Michaels and is super tall. One of my favorite places to go after Christmas is Michael's. I love to get all the clearance items for 70% off. One of the cool things about having different stores in different areas, is that you can find different things at different stores. I bought some really great items here for next year's Christmas gifts and also some items to replenish my craft room. When I went to the second store on Alafaya Trail, I found some really great items that were not available at this location. I will give you a tip, scan the barcode on the items you're buying to see if they're cheaper online. I was told by one of the managers that as long as it didn't have some certain letter in the SKU online they will match the price at the register. Was looking for an Item the web site said this store had the item in stock - I called from the parking lot and was told they had foru of this Item. So I proceeded to go into the store. Asked a cashier if they had this item and showed it to her on my phone - she pull out her little black check it machine and said yes we have four in stock. I told her I did not see this item on the shelf. She called another employee because she could not help " she is just a cashier" so the floor person saw the item and took me to a stocking holder and said it this it - I looked at her and said the item is 2.5 ft tall. The floor person looked at my phone again typed in the item number sams as the cashier and said we have four in stock - I ask where. She then stated oh wait we do not have this item I have never seen it here in this store - you cannot trust our inventory online. I am about to lose my cool with this person - another floor person came up and they are talking and the other person looks at my phone type in the item number on her black check it machine ans says we have four in stock -the first person says to her remember we cannot trust our inventory so she stated "we don't have any - but you can order online" It's in store only item!!!! They both are looking on the shelf in small location. I again reminded them it is 2.5 FT tall. So neither one of them bother to help any further and just walked away. They did not bother to call other stores for me and to help me find this item. Too Bad this store has the worst employee and Management if the store inventory cannot be trusted. Corporate should really visit this store - seems employees are taking home item and claiming they do not get them if inventory is that far off and their online system says it their but the employees say otherwise? read more

As expected of a Michaels it's stocked with so many tools for creativity and design. I've gone in a few times and wish I had a closer alternative. Once I had a pickup for some items I ordered online. Went in followed the big sign for online orders all the way to the back. An employee walked right past me and didn't say a word. I got to the back and no one is there. I spent a few mins looking for the guy I just saw and couldn't find him. Started walking up to the front where I know I saw folks stocking shelves. The first girl broke off eye contact when she realized I was trying to get her attention and focused on her stocking intently. Since I was close to the front I just continued to hopefully find a more enthusiastic employee. I guess I walked in to a supervisor giving directions to an employee. So waited a moment for them to pause so I could ask my question. It took a few moments, the employee noticed me but said nothing. Then the supervisor seeming one noticed me, asked politely if I needed help and called someone to assist me with my pick up immediately. The employee at the back was helpful and funny, got my item quickly and answered a question about cookie cutters right away. The cashier was cheerful and rang me up quickly. I'm not sure if it was bad timing and the employees were just extremely busy but later that week I went back for some more arts and crafts items and the store was cluttered, employees were again just busy stocking/organizing so the aisles were a bit cluttered, no one said hello or asked anything, but I knew what I needed so got right to it and left. I live close to the airport so this plaza is nice for a lot of the stores, restaurants, snacking in this plaza. Guess we can't have it all. read more

Before moving to Lee Vista the closest Michaels to me was Waterford Lakes and the employees at that location were very unpleasure and always gave me a hard time using a coupon. I recently, started going to the Lee Vista location and WOW what a different experience! Everyone is so friendly and always willing to help!
