Thank you to the Wine Walk for introducing my friends and I to Maffrey's. Such a cute gift store with a lot of fun, quirky items. The local honey caught my eye and a few samples later, 2 of my friends and I walked out with the Drunken nana honey. This local honey is like no other honey. The Druken Nana gives bananas foster and the sun burst honey was packed with citrus. There were so many cute items in Maffrey's that I'll definitely bring out of town friends here to pick up gift items but I'm coming back to this store when I run out of honey. When you need that perfect something you must check out Maffrey's in Ivanhoe Village. The owners were inspired to open Maffrey's after traveling the world. They wanted to bring some of the unusual items they found to Orlando in order to make the world a better place. The store sells a carefully curated inventory of unique items from local artists and from women owned, eco-friendly and socially conscious companies. items may be made from recyclables or may help impoverished people. Attractively presented items are arranged by categories like house wares, pantry items, Florida, pets, readers, local colleges, stationary, cocktail lovers, kids, parents, and more. They even had a clearance shelf in the back of the store. Items that caught my eye were the bubble tea key chains, a UCF hair clip, colorful tiki glasses, and some salty pens. The store is bright and welcoming and the owner is friendly. Adding to the good vibes, the prices seemed reasonable, especially for items that have the deeper meaning of actually helping people. It was an absolute delight to shop here. Whether shopping for a gift or for yourself, you will have no problem picking out one (or several items) that are sure to be loved. read more

I recently found this shop while driving around, and was so glad I stopped by! Great selection of items with each section dedicated to a different small business, and a lot are women-owned. I got a postcard and sticker for a great price! Can find stickers, prints, home/personal goods, and even gifts for pets! Service was super friendly and kind, can't wait to go back! read more

I had a very long list of gifts I needed to buy for various secret Santa and white elephant gifts and stopped by Maffrey's. The shop is super cute and broken up into little sections. I especially loved all of the Orlando-specific merchandise. There were some great gifts ideas for food and drink, options for kids, and fun games and punny items. I also thought the prices were pretty reasonable for a boutique. I spent $100 and left with a bag full of goodies! The owner was so friendly, I'm kicking myself that I didn't ask for his name! He did a great job of letting me look around and shop while also informing me about products and making sure I was having a good experience. I was able to find parking on the street, but I did have to circle around twice. read more

If you're in the Ivanhoe area, do yourself a favor and stop by Maffrey's! A friendly local recommended it, and wow--what a find! The moment I walked in, owner Jeff greeted me like an old friend. The shop is packed with funky, eclectic gifts--seriously, there's something for everyone. I LOVED coming in here. The guy that greeted me at the shop was so nice, he made me feel like a long time friend. The shop is filled with different items, jewelry, reusable straws, simple syrups, fur baby goodies, paper goods, ect. It's a quaint spot that has lots of character! Everywhere you turn there is something new to gawk at. My favorite section was the save the bees area. I found the most perfect paid of bee earrings with seeds inside that you can plant to attract bees. It took lots of willpower not to grab all their stock!!! read more

I adore Ivanhoe Village and this shop is a great new addition! This Christmas I'm trying my best to keep my dollars local and I love that shopping here for all of my last minute gifts was fun and easy. We were able to knock out gifts for my husbands coworkers, neighbors, and friends all in matter of minutes. Everything from fun socks, locally made jams, precious Christmas ornaments, and so many bright and happy pineapple things. I love that everything has a story or is made locally or fits into the fun Florida theme they have going on. read more

Butterlies are the sweet silent happy pollinators. They do their business and never hurt anyone. What more AMAZING creature to describe these 2 amazing guys that own Maffreys! They are social, lighthearted and gracious hosts as they greet you into their warm LOCALLY sourced array of wonders! I came in to support this business and saw the owners of Ivanhoe BBQ passing out plates of BBQ for free to its business "neighbors" just to say hi and show some love. Then walked to Maffreys and felt like I had just walked into a dear friends living room. Warm, VIBRANT, and endearing. I don't say that lightly. I honestly felt their positive vibe from the doorway and it followed me home. What Love they have for each other and their community. Go here buy something, they have something you can't live without, I Promise. I went in for an Ivanhoe pineapple sticker. First, seating can be a challenge. There is plenty of outdoor seating but not much indoors. The day we went it was pretty hot and sitting outside was not the most enjoyable experience at times. Second, I fully support spending money at local businesses but the tipping culture here felt a bit excessive. I bought a bag of coffee beans with no drink and was prompted for a tip. I spent $45 for 12 pieces of chocolates at Oban Chocolatier and was asked for a tip there too. Same thing when I spent about $25 on four cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse. I am happy to support but it started to feel like a lot in a not enjoyable way. Third, the hours between vendors can be a bit awkward. We came around brunch time which worked for some spots but others were not open yet. For example, Domu does not open until dinner (5PM) and Gyukatsu Rose was not opening until later in the afternoon (3 PM) Overall, I think this is a great place to check out especially if you enjoy trying a variety of local spots. Just plan ahead for seating and timing and be prepared for lots of tip prompts along the way.

The bag policy permits only clear bags, except for diaper bags and bags for medical items. There is a maximum of 2 minors per paid adult allowed. All minors 17 and under have to be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian 21+. There were guided parking and ample parking spaces when we arrived. Check points were set up for bag checks, metal detectors and of course ticket collection. The staff members working the bag check and the exit gate were courteous and polite. The Fairgrounds was not crowded so it was easy to walk about and not bump into other people. There was law enforcement presence inside and outside the Fairgrounds.

One thing that really surprised me was the $20 per person helicopter rides over the fairgrounds. We almost did it and I kind of regret not taking the chance--hopefully they bring that back next year.
