Michaels is every artists/crafters dream store. It has everything you need for the skilled artist to the simple knitter. I had a purpose of going to Michaels to pick up a few items for making some of my Christmas gifts this year. Walking into the store, you're immediately wafted with the smell of cinnamon, the scent was very dense. Luckily I don't mind the smell, but it was a bit overwhelming.
I strolled through the store looking for the items I needed, baskets, popsicle sticks, and stuffing for the baskets, all of which I found after wandering around for 10 minutes. The whole store can be just overwhelming. Everything I needed was at the back of the store and at teh front is there seasonal decorations.
The prices are unbelievably expensive. Even with their sales and signs indicating that an item is buy one get one free or 50% off, you're still paying a hefty price for those items. I was looking for baskets, and they had their seasonal baskets up at the front, with a sale of buy one get one, equal or lesser value, free. The baskets I had wanted we're $24.99 and their size was quite small, and the quality wasn't even that great.
The lineup was about a 10 minute wait, even though they had 4 people at the tills. I ended up paying $42 for two medium sized baskets, basket stuffing, and popscile sticks. Next time I'll make sure I check the website before I head in to see if there are any coupons to make this shopping experience cheaper. read more
