You have to find your product in the catalogue, take a number, write out your order slip, hand in your order slip, wait for your products then check out. It can get very busy on weekends and around holidays. To save time you can peruse the online catalogues before you go. Be open to funding new uses for the products. For example, they have plastic tubes with metal lids in the woodworking catalogue which are handy for storing thread spools with bobbins. Allot some time to browse the store - you'll surely find something that you want to add to your order. The store is waaaaay out there on Oxford (almost to the airport). Free parking.

Lee Valley has likely the highest ratio of obscure tools and fixtures to staff of any retailer…read more Even more mind-boggling is that their staff generally know what each and every wacky little thing does. I have, on occasion, gone in not knowing exactly what I'm looking for--but rather, just described a problem or challenge I'm having, and one of their staff (all whom are involved in at least one quirky hobby) has been able to say, "Well, son, sounds like you need this. . . ". Like a handyman's oracle, they answer questions and dole out solutions provided you're willing to make the sometimes arduous trek to their often remote locations. I promise you: it's worth the trip. Particularly if you want to address a homelessness problem for a very specific type of bird.

If you want to take things in then call ahead to make an appointment because you'll need one. There is a regular section and a designer section. Some of the clothes still have tags on them (thank you to those women who buy items but decide not to wear them!). They carry all sizes so you're sure to find something. Reasonable prices, especially if the item is on sale. Loyalty card gets you a $25 certificate after five purchases over $50. Helpful staff didn't make me feel as though they suspected every customer was trying to shoplift, an attitude far too prevalent in retail today.

He proceeded to have an in-depth conversation with the customer on the phone, ignoring me completely. There was another employee in the back he could have asked to come help me. I managed to find the part myself and proceeded to wait longer while he talked on the phone and ignored me. Finally the employee from the back came out, noticed me, and I was assisted. It is almost as if the staff here isn't actually interested in having customers....
