To say this store is overwhelming is an understatement. Len's Mill Store here in London is your one stop shop, for fabrics, sewing, clothes, crafts and so much more all packed into one large warehouse. I came here on Saturday with my mom, who loves to sew, and she wanted to pick up some unique fabrics from here that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else, unless you went to the States. The door to come into the place is deceiving, it's one door, and the entrance and exit are one in the same and immediately to the left are the shopping carts, and to the right are the cashiers. The aisle-ways are somewhat narrow for these shopping carts, but the fabric selection is HUGE. My mom was like a kid in a candy store. She had a mission for flannel to make something for a baby shower for some friends of ours. We also found some Doctor Who fabrics, which I never thought we could find in London, let alone Canada. The employees were fairly nice and helpful, could be a bit more enthusiastic, they didn't really look happy to be there. The aisles are kind of small to walk through and the entire place is full of items, not a regular tidy store you would usually walk into, but if you know what you want and what you're looking for, for a fairly good bargain, this would be the place! read more

I went in to find some upholstery foam for a chair on the advice of the lovely staff at Fabricland. The individual working in the fabric section was having a social visit, then turned around to walk away even though I was clearly waiting for service. My mom waved at her, and she snapped "I can see you!!" I was about to ask my question, but instead told her I would find what I needed on Amazon. I mentioned our experience to the cashier and she said "she's always like that and have had lots of complaints." A good place to go if you're looking for materials for costumes or crafting projects. There are lots of holiday or themed fabrics and detailing ribbons, lots of kid themed fabrics and quilting materials. I guess it depends on your sense of style but I found most of their upholstery fabrics to be very dated. Also, much like a Winners experience, you have to be prepared to "hunt" going through each bolt of fabric. Other than by "type" of fabric there is no discernible method of organization. The store also has homewares, faux florals, some clothing. It's a bit dirty, haphazard and glowing under fluorescent lighting. Overall it really has a "Biway" or "bargain Harold's" vibe, but with fabric. While it is certainly a place to go when you're on a mission, I wouldn't choose to spend my day just browsing. read more

I went to check out this store to pick up some sewing bobbles. This store is very plain on the outside that you might mistake it for a factory or storage place. Inside is very crammed full of stuff you might get claustrophobic. There isn't much walking room. Sections are ready to find but the aisles aren't labeled as well as they could be considering how close things are. I was sent to three different sections looking for safety glasses. The prices are decent with some things being more cheaper than other stores. They do have a very large fabric section for a store not dedicated to sewing crafts. Will not be back. Very rude staff. I have a skin condition that prevents me from using hand sanitizer. I was denied entry into the store because I cannot use hand sanitizer. I explained to them that I have been told by 3 different doctors including a dermatologist that I cannot use it as it only makes my skin problem worse. I was told I could not come in. I tried to explain that it was illegal and a human rights violation to deny me entry ( I was masked up and was following other COVID protocols) but all I got told was they are a private company and can do whatever they want. I left and will not be back. A family member did go inside but found the store to be filthy and even ruder staff. She left and will not be back either. read more

I took my 88 year old Mother to the London store. Because of covid, she stayed in line while I waited for her. She needed 1 meter of each of 5 different fabrics. to make it easier, she was getting me 1 meter each of the same fabrics, But the employee would only cut the 2 meters from the bolt and wouldn't cut them in 2 separate 1 meter pieces ! Mom was so frustrated. and we had to go back to her tiny senior apartment on her little table and try to cut these pieces in half so I could take mine home. Next time we will take the time and drive to Port Dover. This was an awful store to shop in. read more

Always loved lens....not today...garbage everywhere...staff were rude and I forgot my mask at home which you are forced to wear and they make you buy a $0.07 mask for $1.99 minimum...thats price gouging...very very disappointed in the owners! This place is always poorly lit and in shambles, a little apocalyptic. Kind of depressing. I accidentally walked into their back but their back looks the same as the front. Employees seem to have given up. If you like shopping at places where everything has been pulled off the shelves and dumped on the floor and most of the lighting is fluorescent and flickering go here, I guess. read more

Good for them for donating supplies for PPE. However, they need to significantly improve their Covid-prevention measures. The website states that masks must be worn inside the store at all times. I saw several customers without masks speaking with a worker who had a mask wrapped around her neck, not on her face. Other customers were wearing masks in similarly useless fashions, including under their noses. We cannot have this. If people don't have the sense to protect themselves then we must protect others who are vulnerable. It's a scientific fact that you cannot determine who has Covid by appearance. It's not fair to post a policy on the website, and outside the door, and inside the door at the hand sanitizing station and then allow customers to decide that they don't want to follow it. Policies apply to all, equally - if you don't want to comply THEN DON'T GO INTO THE STORE. Some people who are vulnerable decide which stores to patronize by whether they enforce mask-wearing. Follow the corollary: if they knew before they went that it's a free-for-all then they wouldn't go because they can't take that risk. read more
