The Everett Clinic took over Associates in Family Medicine here in Bellingham and I have been…read moretotally disheartened by the dramatic decrease in my personal care as a patient. It took at least a week during the Everett take-over for phone calls to go through to the practice. I know one seriously ill person caught in this transition, and wonder how many more patients were ignored. When tests indicated that I had a bladder infection I did not receive a phone call. Instead, the information was posted on "the portal," which I had no reason to be checking. A prescription had been called in for me. When I came in for a repeated urine test, I had to argue with the lab that I needed a urine rather than blood test. We just do what the chart tells us to do, they assured me. In a subsequent visit there was little eye contact from my provider. He remained fixed on the computer. Ironically, important medical history always seems inaccurate or inaccessible when it's pulled up. He provided me with attentive, personal care prior to the take-over and I am convinced this is not the medical care he would provide before Everett Clinic moved to Bellingham.

We spent a few years shifting from one to another office of pushy salespersons, cookie cutter service and shameless money grabbers. Then we found Suzanne Jackson at the Hearing and Balance Lab. She is patient, knowledgeable, thorough and personable. They have since undergone a few name changes and company ownerships ( most recently HearUSA, but the staff remains the same wonderful helpful conscientious staff. The insurance was always handled for us efficiently, honestly and professionally ( this is apparently , in my experience,, an epidemic problem in this field ) This year, with new ownership, I learned that they no longer take our insurance and we are needing to find a new reliable audiologist. This has been a true hardship. The struggle is real folks. Since leaving this office, We are back in the throws of money grabbing insurance frauds with relatively little concern for personal health service. Luckily, we appreciated and knew what we had while here with Suzanne. If you are here, count your blessings, and stay put. Hearing aid sales is off the charts sleazy business in the wrong hands. They were very knowledgeable and through this specific third party insurance he was eligible for new hearing aids (the last place said every 5 yrs when it was actually every 3 yrs). My dad is very happy with this new clinic. Not only did they get him some new top-of-the-line hearing aids that are 100% better than his last set, but they educated him extensively on the care and maintenance of the new hearing aids. Very friendly, customer service is top shelf and my elderly dad has never been more happy about his hearing aids. They also have such a cute clinic dog that is very friendly and loves to play with her balloon while you wait. After services rendered, I found this to be a gross misstatement. They declined my request to submit a claim on my behalf even though they were paid in full at the time of service. They flat-out stated that insurance providers don't cover services for audiology testing and that they wouldn't submit a claim for that reason. In fact my provider does, but they were lazy and wouldn't bother to check. I said I would submit the claim myself, but efforts to obtain the necessary medical codes and support documentation were met with resistance and rudeness by the front desk clerk. My impression was that this business is inexperienced with providing insurance claims for their customers and did not have the general knowledge of current claim practices or protocols. Nor did they appear to even care. They provide an extreme disservice to all their customers, especially Seniors who are generally unable to navigate the complex claim process on their own.

The treatment does not cure misophonia, but it does teach her brain that the trigger sounds are not something that it needs to react strongly to and get away from. Yes, chewing sounds will always be annoying, but there is no strong emotional response anymore.
