This is the place to go!…read more I've been frustrated by the limited selection of home décor and upholstery fabrics in the Columbus area, so I decided to use my day off to drive to Waynesville and check out Fabric Shack. I was already thrilled with the selection when Jessie casually let me know there's a SECOND FLOOR. In fact, about 60% of their stock is upstairs. And when I say their selection is extensive, I mean EXTENSIVE. Whatever you're looking for for your home, there's a very good chance they'll have something that works. And if you don't find exactly what you're looking for in the store, their enormous library of swatch books can help fill in the gaps. But what really impressed me was the service. This is the kind of store where they genuinely take care of you. A few examples from my visit: * I was greeted warmly when I walked in and offered assistance and fabric swatches multiple times without ever feeling pressured. * I overheard Jessie helping a customer track down a very specific fabric from a manufacturer in New York that had recently stopped producing it. He remembered the customer from a previous interaction, knew details about the manufacturer, and was able to suggest places they might be able to find the now-out-of-print fabric. * Gail helped me select and purchase fabric to reupholster my dining chairs. When we noticed a flaw in the fabric, she immediately cut me a new length and told me they would never knowingly sell fabric with a flaw. * When I mentioned to Gail that I had recently moved to the area, she took a few minutes to chat with me and made me feel completely at home. I don't have a ton of upholstery or home projects on my plate right now, but when I do, this is where I'm going. It was absolutely worth the drive from Columbus, and I'm already looking forward to my next project just so I have an excuse to go back.

I constantly have to order wrapping paper, bows, and gift bags online. Now the store is full of knickknacks that collect dust in people's homes. Sometimes it feels like I have stepped back into an 80s country craft show. The employees are always a joy, but we miss seeing the familiar faces that left. For some reason, I thought a Hallmark store should have gift wrapping paraphernalia. What happened?

I was a little disappointed to see there wasn't much of a deal section in the entrance. I loved how they moved most of the holiday clothing towards the front of the store rather than spacing it out in all of the individual sections. It made it fun to walk in and see all of the Christmas gear. I was happy to find that the inventory on the app seemed to match what was in the store and was able to find everything I was looking for.

This location had many options for anything you need to organize especially in regards to closet organization. Half this store is dedicated to closets. I was in the market for collapsible crates for general storage purposes (groceries in the trunk of a car for example). I couldn't find any collapsible containers made of hard plastic - not like cloth or basket types of containers that I found in the store. This location did not have what I was looking for, but gave me tons of ideas for other areas of my home in need of organization. A lot of the storage containers seemed very expensive for what you're getting. I found these modular crates that would have been perfect for my needs had they been collapsible. However, 1 for $20? Ouch. I found what I needed on Amazon 3 for $29, collapsible, and the same size as what I found in this store. I will definitely be stopping by this location again in the future for general ideas and sizing, but will most likely shop elsewhere when it comes to pricing.

It is what it is…read more I'm not a big shopping guy and even less a TJ Maxx guy. But, from time-to-time, I am dragged in there. So, if you've ever been to a TJ Maxx, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They place is always a disaster with a moderate rhyme-or-reason to where things are. Sure, you can find the luggage section, or the shoe aisles, or clothes, etc. But, you might be at the shoe rack and come across a decent pair of dress shoes, right next to a pair of slippers, right next to those measuring cups for the kitchen that you suddenly had to have. Now, I'm not sure if that's how TJ Maxx gets you or if that's just lazy customers. Either way, it's genius. Anyone who says that more than 75% of the time the go into a TJ Maxx for something specific but ultimately walk out with 1 to 9 items that they didn't come in for would be lying. On top of that, they're walking out with those 1 to 9 other items and in many cases, not what they originally came in for. These are hard facts. It's a brilliant marketing scheme. Being completely bewildered in an aisle that seemed to make very little sense to me, I asked on of the workers who was stocking the shelves how she knew where to even put things. I had been browsing through this aisle for a few minutes and noticed her taking things off of her stock cart and putting them on shelves, in between other completely related items. She said that in some cases they have a general idea where things go and just find a space. That's a perfect way to describe many of the aisles of TJ Maxx. Again - this is either insane or genius. I'm guessing it's the latter. Would I go back? I don't know. Probably. I would never think of going there. I'll never say, "hey, I need to run to TJ Maxx". But thinking about it, I should. Because they honestly seem to have everything you could ever think of. This isn't a bad review. Like TJ Maxx, it's a very hard to define review. If you like browsing, look no further. You could spend hours here. Think of it as an indoor scavenger hunt. Pro Tip: If you're looking for something in particular and don't find it in the area you locate that has similar items....say shoes... keep looking in other aisles around that general area or quarter of that part of the store. You may still find what you're looking for among things that are completely unrelated. This too, is a fact. I have literally had this experience myself. Think of it as a real life Highlights magazine picture search. I can almost guarantee if you look closely between the items in the aisle that has hard candies, holiday gnomes, assorted Keurig K-cups and socks, there is a real good chance you'll find that meat thermometer between the toddler size tap shoes and gourmet peanut brittle.
