They have a nice variety of games open which you can play, as well as comfortable seating and clean rest rooms. In the gaming area, I saw more packaged "complete sets" of the games with numerous expansion sets, something I personally find preferable to lots and lots and lots of space devoted to expansion sets. I only wish they opened a little earlier in the day on weekdays.

It was pinned instead of being laced. WHICH I was charged for. Management and Home Office didn't care. This is the 2nd HL location so it looks like training is the same across the board. All the products are new in boxes. The man behind the counter was not overly friendly but he seemed busy working on an order or some inventory. It seems like most of his business is either locals or people that call in to order a part that they need for their hobby. As for a hobby shop, it is really not hobbies in the traditional sense where they are quite limited in the variety of things they carry. I can't really comment on the prices of the goods because it is more of "if you need it, you'll pay what it costs".

Lots of models for sale and they can help you decide what genre of the hobby best fits your needs. I flipping love that the military items have their own room in the back. So close to the holiday... let's just say that's not going to work! (It's the 23rd of December!) I called this store and they confirmed they had Catan and various expansion packs in stock. The price is exactly what I was expecting to pay and then they had a 10% holiday discount. It's a Saturday and most stores are NOT answering their phones but this store answered on the 1st or 2nd ring!! They set aside two different games for me and confirmed they were open until 10pm! I swung by and the nicest person helped me to check out, signed me up for the rewards program, and explained their business model. You can rent and play games, purchase them, or bring your own! This is the reincarnation of JP Trains and Hobbies formerly located in Latham, NY. I came here on…read morevacation and was pleasantly surprised with the shop. The good: compared to the old store, it is well lit, the aisles are wider, and it is easier to find things. The hours are probably more regular as well. The bad: the inventory is the same as the previous store, but with even less O, S, and G scales. So, if you are an N or HO modeler you will find this store is nearly the same as the previous one. However, if you model in some of the less-popular scales you won't find much here aside from some scratchbuilding supplies. The prices seemed reasonable. Still... the area neads hobby shops, and I will do what I can to support this one. Check it out!
