To start off, I purchase tons of frames weekly from Daytona Beach Michael's, as I use them (easy and affordable) to display my photography.
This past week, there was a "special" on 12"x18" matted frames. I went in on my lunch break to purchase a quantity of 10. Needless to say, there were only 2 in stock, 1 was badly damaged. I asked if I could have 9 ordered in. The manager (Cory) informed me that I could not have them ordered in, that I would have to order them online and pay the shipping which would have put them over the regular price. I then asked if I could have extras ordered on their stock order (which I was going to pay up front) and Cory said no. I asked if any of the local stores (Port Orange, Palm Coast) had any available. Cory told me that Port Orange had 2 available. I told him that I would go and pick them up, then he said that he would be over at that store the next day and would bring them over to his store and that he would call me when they were in. Well, a day went by, no call. Two days, no call. I decided to call today and Cory proceeded to tell me that he tried to call me but my number wasn't working (I gave him a business card that I give to everybody else) and wanted to tell me that Port Orange didn't have the two in stock that they showed. Oh, on top of all that, Michael's had ZERO of these frames scheduled to ship on their next two trucks.
So, not only does Michael's advertise sales items that they don't stock, they advertise sales items that they can't even get. The thing that really frustrates me is that I feel Cory lied to me by telling me that he tried to call my phone, which he didn't, and that he said he went to the other store to get the frames which I could have easily went and gotten myself, which he didn't. I called the other store and spoke to someone in framing whom informed me that Cory did not pick up the frames. Disappointing. read more
