When my 5yo daughter got excited about flying model airplanes, I got excited as well because it was…read moresomething I did with my late father, 20 some years ago. Last week I picked up a few planes from his collection in KY but could not figure out what accessories went with what planes. After crashing the one I got to work, about a min after take off, I knew I needed expert help. My daughter and I set out on a quest to get a plane I could fly and prepare the other one for when my skills improve. We found exactly what we were looking for. I went in, explained my situation and they had all the answers. Request 1: An easy to fly plane that was not a lot of money (I planned on crashing it like the other one). They recommended a Champ, which after testing it out this evening, was an amazing recommendation. Super easy to fly and a lot of fun. Request 2: A battery for my uncrashed plane. They figured out what battery was supposed to be in it (discontinued a long time ago). So using a little knowledge and solder, they adapted a battery they had in stock to work with my plane and charger. Request 3: A battery for my RC car (something my daughter also showed interested in). Even though my car is 15+ years old, there had a battery for that as well. I was very please with my visit and expected to pay a little more by shopping local. When I got home, googling tips on how to not crash, I saw the Champ on amazon, for a few dollars MORE than I paid today. That made me even more pleased, I not only got to take advantage of their knowledge, but I spent less money than I would have on amazon.
