I love coming to Michaels to look for more crafts and items I need for my business. After refinishing some furniture, I feel ready to start using my cricut to make lazy susans and trays. They have so many different items at this location to help me get creative with my pieces. They always have some awesome items on clearance too. They have everything you need and it is a lot cheaper than Hobby Lobby, especially if you have coupons from an app. Walking in a few days ago, I saw that they had a massive selection of clearance items in the front. They actually had a whole lot more in the back in boxes ready to be moved. I talked to an employee and she told me that everything would be moved towards the front. I shared some photos of the sales but it appears that they have lowered prices even more to get rid of some items. I actually purchased a set of 48 gel pens for only $3 and they all worked perfectly. They had a lot of craft items or small gifts. I like to donate a lot to a shelter and some of the little mini boxes for the children are perfect for the shelter. At the shelter they give children gifts when they leave, on their birthday, and christmas. They always need items that are in boxes and brand new. I did pick up a few eraser kit sets and this squishie item. The clearance section is also perfect for finding unique items and paying a lot cheaper than you would have if you got it before. I have purchased so many different items and they always come in handy in the near future. This store was actually pretty clean and organized. They had a lot of multi sales. They had an entire christmas selection sale as well. I suggest going in the next few days as they have a lot of great deals to offer. read more

I stopped to shop in here after calling the day before looking for those white chocolate melts by Walton for dipping cookies or pretzel sticks to create that delicious store bought flavor, which is better than normal Nestle white chocolate morsels chips. After my fast stop next door at Dollar Tree, this location is so huge with bright isles, labeled, clear of clutter and easy to see for a crafty power shop. Also good for one's "get in and get out shopping experience." When checking out there are areas with baskets of sale items or thoughtful gift ideas last minute for Christmas or for kid or family party favors as well. I counted 6 staff employees working as I walked around before cashing out at a register. I went to the customer service counter and talked to "George" who gave me my 2 bags of white candy melts that was on hold for me. He was quick to find my needed request. He asked if I was a Michael's reward customer member to receive 20% off each purchase item not total bill. Yes I am plus I also had a backup which was an email coupon to use in case my card didn't register. Sign up for rewards with an e-mail address or a rewards card. $$$ Discounts with a coupon or percentage off each item helps. Then again can make ME SHOP for more ideas which I did. Before check out I grabbed extra 4 different mini gifts for my two cutie toddler nephews. I spent $35.00 yet saved $12.53 so my final purchase was valuable. As with other new stores in this area, I am glad that this fairly new, bigger, cleaner well stocked and nicely organized "Michael's Craft Store" is here on Gratiot Avenue near 23 Mile Rd. My opinion is: in the past year or more its been very crazy along with stressful driving through construction barrels, of dirt, mess and the long timely traffic on M-59 (Hall Rd.) My observation is that some of the stores on Hall Rd., are becoming rundown, lack of inventory and areas of clean shelves organized for a fun shopping appearance. So, I decided to see what's out here and I'm glad I drove the extra 2 miles to Chesterfield. Thanks, Michael's for my holiday shopping and future purchases when I need them. I'm not a crafts kinda person, BUT, they do have some pretty cool stuff anyways. Lots of 'made in China' labels, but surprisingly, I saw 'Made in USA' labels too! Bird houses, pinewood derby kits, plus lots of crafts items. Quite a few sales. Kids workshops on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon. Awesome michaels! Consistent staff, great deals, always clean. I love stopping in! I always take a look at the clearance section to see what's in. Also they always have great clearance yarn in the yarn section. I wish they had more crochet hooks, and accessories but they make up for it with all the other craft stuff they have read more

Normally Michaels is great. However, their Black Friday sale was a complete zero. I tried using a 40% off entire purchase coupon which excluded items already on sale. There were no sale signs posted on any of the items I put into my cart. When I went to check out, they would not honor my teacher discount on top of the coupons like they normally do. Additionally, they said the items I chose WERE actually on sale, despite ZERO signs to that effect. Then they said that the higher of the discounts would apply. So somehow my bill ended up being over $110 and only $10 was given as a discount. They tried explaining that it was correct. Maybe people are idiots and can't do math, so that passes for 40% off in some people's books, but not mine. I hope they made a killing off Black Friday this year because their deceptive tactics won't bring me back. read more
