There's a decent selection of fabrics and crafts here…read more Prices are average and there are usually a lot of sale items around. The reason for the low marks... - Even with GPS, this location was difficult to get to, it's hidden behind palm trees and the parking lot is slow - The fluorescent lights that line the ceiling make this spacious place so gloomy - Most of the staff is wearing masks, but a few of them struggle to keep them on Still, the probably have what you need, so stop by!

Your time will be better spent driving miles in any direction to a Hobby Lobby…read more I placed a curbside pickup order almost 2 hours before expecting to be able to pick up my 2 items at the Tampa Citrus Park store after I picked up my kids from school. I did not receive an email about it being ready, so I took my 3 kids inside and spoke with the lady at the counter. She said that there was nothing she could do, so I went looking for my items myself. There were only 4 other customers in the entire store so I'm puzzled as to why the order hadn't been handled yet. The poor woman at the fabric counter couldn't walk unassisted--I felt terrible that she needs to still be working at her age. We waited a long time to be served even though the ticker showed our ticket number, got the fabric cut that I had already ordered, she very kindly showed me where to find the fiber fill I needed, and I took them back to the front counter. I asked the woman there if she could just use her device (which was lying on the counter next to her) to check off that I had picked up my order myself and she said no, she couldn't. This is ridiculous. She told me to cancel my order (I'll get to that part in a sec) and pay in the store. The extra aggravating thing is that I got better pricing online. The woman at the counter was able to adjust the pricing on the fiber fill, but not the fabric; she said I would have to go back to the poor old woman at the fabric counter to see if she could adjust it. When I left the fabric counter there were two other women waiting with armfuls of fabric so I knew I didn't have that kind of time, with how slowly she moved. So I paid close to $3 more per yard than I had paid online, because I was in a hurry. This is the WORST customer service I have seen in a store in many, MANY years. I used to work in retail and I would have been reprimanded or even fired for being as incredibly dense and unhelpful as the blonde woman at the front counter. And then when I tried to call the customer service number to cancel the order, there's not even anyone to speak to; there is a recorded message telling you to email them! I did email, and it took a second email 2 days later to get anyone to respond to me. The customer service rep told me she wouldn't cancel the order--she said to leave the order alone and it would be voided when it wasn't picked up after 5 days. She send me a $15 Joann gift card to compensate for the fabric overcharge at the counter, but that will be useless because I will never shop there again. Then today I received an email that my order WAS picked up and I WAS charged AGAIN for the items. All because an employee wouldn't TAP A BUTTON on a device LYING ON THE COUNTER NEXT TO HER. Michael's curbside pickup is quick and accurate, and their staff are actually helpful and able to price match. If they sold fabric, I would never visit Joann's again. In fact, after this experience, I will drive to Hobby Lobby in Clearwater any time I need fabric.

Back then or even twenty years ago it was no surprise to find an actual scrapbook store throughout many cities. Sadly, now, it is almost impossible to find brick and mortar store. I believe when I moved down to Florida 18 years ago there were 3 stores that I frequented often and now, only Scraporium is left. When I am in the Carrollwood or Lutz area , I always stop in if it's during business hours to see what they have added to the store or if there is anything that I must have. The ladies that work, there are always so nice and polite and willing to help find anything that you may be looking for that. They have as the store is very packful of various goodies. I truly hope they are successful enough to remain open for years to come.

Some things were a good price and some things were higher than average. But the fact that it's a small and local place made me comfortable paying a premium. There was a woman when we walked in that acknowledged us but we weren't sure if she was a manager or just a customer. When we went to pay, we were second in line and the lady at the cash register (I assume owner) disappeared without saying a word after she helped the people in front of us. Not sure what happened but we waited several minutes before we could check out. No other customers were in the store at the time. I'll be back, though :)

I purchased a 5-week class to learn how to make a 11" x" stained glass art. There was a Groupon…read morespecial for $20... What a bargain! This is for use of the studio, equipment and instructions. Note that you will need to pay extra for consumable materials such as glass (that you select), homasote board, solder, solutions (ex., patina), zinc came, etc. Don't be surprised if you lay out about $175+ for these extra materials (depending on your chosen glass). You will spend a minimum of 5 weeks to complete your project. I work fast, even taking some activities to do at home, and it took me 8 weeks (I did a 61-piece project). Other attendees will take 12 weeks or more, based on their abilities. The good thing is that the studio will not charge you extra for additional weeks. They will support you as many weeks as needed until you finish. If you are not the crafty type, pick "easier" patterns that require less/bigger glass pieces. Cody and helper Steve were super instructors. They provided help at every step, demonstrating what to do and how, then allowing you to try and be proficient at it. They were patient, and always willing to answer questions or step in when needed. I loved the class so much, and learned enough that I have invested in my own equipment to do more as my new hobby. (Equipment can be purchase in the studio.) I am hooked! Thanks so much Cody and Steve!

I would recommend participating with a friend or family member, so that you can share purchased supplies. This did take me 12 classes to complete, so plan on it taking you 9 or more classes to complete your piece. The supplies required are purchased as needed each week. Tools are provided as part of the class. I would budget $300 to complete your piece, $250 if sharing supplies (glass, glue, solder, flux, frame etc..). I would recommend buying an extra piece of practice glass to work on glass cutting before trying to cut your project glass. I would also spend a little more money on your favorite glass colors and textures. My glass for my butterfly was more expensive, but it made my project and I love it! You will learn new skills each week and have fun!

I love supporting local businesses especially when the owner is part of your community. Chef Ava has a remarkable spirit and is a joy to support. She offers a variety of services, private catering, large event catering, weekly meals, kids cooking classes to name a few. Her menu features an eclectic menu with southern and low country influence. I've never had a meal I didn't like! My latest meal that I tried from Chef Ava was fried fish and creamy grits with a banana foster cobbler with vanilla pudding. It was really great! The fish was fried in a cornmeal batter which is my favorite way to eat fried fish. The grits were savory and creamy and paired well with the fried fish. The dessert was a dish I had never tried before but will definitely be requesting it again the next time I get food from Chef Ava. So good! Chef Ava's brick & mortar location is open from 5-10pm on Friday's and Saturday's. Be sure to come out and support!
