Gainesville Coins has failed to pay us for our shipment of Austrian Philharmonics gold coins after 6 (six) months. On 2/17/2026, Gainesville Coins (GC) confirmed their purchase price and receipt of 20 Austrian Philharmonic gold coins. We were required to confirm our acceptance to their payment terms, specifically "I the seller understand and accept the payment terms are 8 - 10 weeks for processing payment." Between 4/27/2026 and 7/7/2026, we phoned and emailed GC repeatedly about the status of our payment. We received various explanations / excuses regarding the delay, along with assurances that "the check should have arrived by now". Payment for almost half the order was received by us 7/20/2026. We continued calling and messaging GC regarding payment of the outstanding balance due. The responses from GC have deteriorated considerably. As of today, 8/25/2026, we have not received our remaining funds. GC is in Breach of Contract for Non-Payment, given that they required us to accept their payment terms, and have not paid for what was delivered, and is currently owed. Note: I have retained all documentation pertaining to this issue. read more

I've been a customer of this company for many years, and they used to be great. Unfortunately, things have changed -- and not for the better. When I recently spoke with Nate at the Gainesville coin shop, I was told it could take 6-8 weeks to receive payment. That's extremely unusual in this industry. Most reputable dealers handle payments and deliveries within a few days, not months. It really feels like they're struggling with either inventory or cash flow issues, and that's a major concern for anyone buying or selling with them. The lack of stock and slow payouts are not what I'd expect from a trusted dealer. I'd strongly suggest doing some research with other companies and asking direct questions before sending money or items. There are plenty of other reliable dealers out there who can process transactions promptly. Don't assume this company is still operating like it did in the past -- something is definitely off, find another dealer. read more

Typical bait and switch. It's been 14 weeks and still nothing. Even switched to the available product. Then got a mystery charge on my credit card from them. They know how to charge you but don't know how to ship products. read more

I paid with a credit card, so they know they're getting paid. These guys will not send the product, even after getting the money for the product, until it's been 10 weeks (their site says it 'may take up to 10 weeks to receive'). Do not buy from this place, you're not saving that much money. At least with the other places like Apmex or Kitco, you get your purchase as soon as they get paid - I have received my stuff in a week from them. I'm still waiting for my coins from Gainesville that I ordered 1/26/26 and it's already 3/10/26. I only saved about $40 with Gainesville rather than going to Apmex or Kitco. Get your stuff right away, don't use Gainesville. I haven't received my coins yet. There is absolutely no reason for it to take this long after they have been paid. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with Nate at Gainesville Coins I placed an order for PAMP gold bars and waited close to 15 weeks for fulfillment. During that time communication was inconsistent and unclear. Eventually I was told that the PAMP bars were not available and would not be available in the foreseeable future. I was offered a substitution for a Comex branded bar along with a $2 adjustment per bar. I proposed a larger adjustment because the retail prices between the products were different, which they declined. After that I stated I was willing to continue waiting for the original PAMP bars. Instead of allowing the order to remain open, they informed me they would be canceling the order and issuing a refund, stating their terms allow them to cancel an order at any time. I never requested a cancellation or refund and had already been waiting nearly four months. The biggest issue here was the communication and the handling of the order after such a long wait. Customers should be aware that orders can be canceled after extended delays even if you are willing to continue waiting for fulfillment. read more

They were great pre covid, Now you wait for months for an order. I waited 10 months for a box of 500 rounds, Unacceptable. Nate is very allusive . Prices are great but hey will float your money. Albert read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I bought from them 10 yrs ago, great. Made 2 orders 2-10oz silver bars. No update canceled after 2 months. Tried to order today. Will not ship to my address. I have been a customer of this Company for over 10 years. When I did business with Gainesville Coins in 2015-2017 customer service was very good and every order was processed and received in a timely manner. I decided to do business with this company again in 2026 and have had the most horrific experience. I placed several orders for silver and gold and have had the most difficult time receiving items that I paid for in a timely manner. One of the orders for 1 once gold coins was placed on January 22, 2026. It is now August 21st 2026 and I have not received my order and Nathan Wills - Operations Manager no longer responds to email requests for updates. I sent a certified letter requesting fulfillment of my order as placed, fulfillment of a substitute, or a refund. The amount is over $25,000 and now the Company has refused to respond to me. I am over 60 years old and cannot understand how a reputable company has become hostile to it's customers. I am now having to move forward with legal action against Gainesville Coins to try and recover my monies that have been taken. Florida has a law of that protects the elderly against fraud and I'm hoping this will help me recover my damages. I would caution anyone from engaging in business with this company for any amount. Nathan Wills and other Management of Gainesville Coins are completely corrupt. I would never do any business with this company ever again and I keep praying they will either fulfill my order or issue a refund. I'm now contacting the Florida Attorney General to file a fraud complaint under Florida Statute 325.100 to try and recovery my money so I can pay for property taxes. This Company is pure evil. read more

I have been doing business with Gainesville Coins since 2017. Recently, I went online to place an order because their physical location is no longer open for in-person purchases. I ordered 1 ounce of gold but later that same day, I decided to cancel the order to use the money for a new kitchen refacing instead. When I called to cancel, Nate informed me that he was processing the cancellation. However, I was never told that canceling my order would bar me from doing business with Gainesville Coins in the future. I was shocked to learn about this policy! My decision to cancel had nothing to do with market conditions; I simply changed my mind about how to use my funds. I find this policy extreme and disappointing, especially since I was not informed of the consequences at the time of cancellation. I have since moved on and now purchase from APMEX, where I receive my coins within a week! read more

At the time of my purchase I was clearly told it would be about 10 weeks to receive my order, and that was true. I only received a partial order with a note saying the rest would follow soon. My order was packed like Fort Knox and I am happy so far with the service. Thank you. If you don't want to wait and save money, then this might not be for you. read more

Walked up to the door and was greeted with a ring camera push the button and the lady goes. How may I help you? I said yes are you open for business? yes how may I help you? uh my initial thought was are you a coin shop that's why I came to buy coins or bouillon! I realized they were actually discriminating against the way I looked and in reality they can and claim it as that's not how it was, but that's really what it was. I am not somdone who is well dressed and clean cut guy but I'll be damned if I'm gonna be treated like I am there to rob the place well it just ain't for me. I have been doing business with Gainesville Coins for three years. While their deliver times have often been slow, they typically provide updates and eventually deliver. However, in March, I purchased two gold coins from them, and I still have not received them. Starting in May, I began contacting Nate Every Monday, and each time, he assured me the coins would be mailed by Friday or the following Monday. It has now been five months with no delivery, and gold prices continue to rise. read more

I ordered a few coins from Gainesville Coins over 2 months ago. Had to pay for them when I ordered. Was told it could take 5-8 weeks for delivery. Now the website has changed to "8-10 weeks " for delivery. They don't answer their phone so send an email. I'm waiting for a response to mine. Excuses don't work for me. They've had use of my money for all this time. I have ordered in the past (10 years ago) and had no complaints then. Not sure why their service has gotten so bad, but either give me my coins or give me my money! I will report you to the FTC and State Attorney General's office for failure to perform. read more

I have bought and sold gold and silver with gainesville for many years. They have always completed my orders but the time it takes to complete them is longer and longer. SERVICE: They would be hard pressed to define service. Selection?? You're kidding, right? You place an order, they scour eBay and other sites for EIGHT weeks to find a cheap price. Value? I've been contacting them everybweek for the last three weeks and every week they just tell me that it should be being sent later that week. Now they have canceled the order rather than sending it out. Of course silvernis selling for $5 per ounce more now than it was when I ordered it. Reckon that might have something to do with it. Avoid them in favor of any dealer on comparesilverprices.com. I've done business with them for years, but the ship times continued to get longer and longer. They have issues that aren't' affecting any other dealer for some reason. In reality, they are either taking advantage of the cash float between receiving funds and distributing product or the business is slowly collapsing. Either way, after several missed ship dates and several polite emails, they stopped communicating. Huge red flag. I gave them 36 hours to ship before I went to BBB and onward with formal complaints. Amazingly, they shipped the next day. read more

First (and ONLY) order with Gainesville coins I placed did not go well. They had sale on Silver Eagles that stated would ship approx. 3 weeks after confirmation of payment. Ordered July 5th, I was billed and my transaction CLEARED July 6th. Somebody called between 3-4 weeks later to confirm the information, said getting ready to make shipment. A week went by and when I would check their sight my order status said "Not shipped, waiting on payment" (which CLEARED a month before) I sent an email. Waited about 4 days so with no reply I called. I was told that they were waiting on the coins to arrive. (same old COVID excuse that they will probably use for the next 5 years) Forward to September 13th. I called my card to dispute the transaction due to never receiving the merchandise. Amazingly, September 14th I receive an email stating my order has SHIPPED. Coincidence? I think NOT. I will NEVER purchase anything from this poor excuse of a business ever again. I wouldn't buy any more silver eagles from them if they were selling them for face value. Learn how to run a legitimate business that knows how to service the customers. A little communication would be nice. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service. I paced an order on 11th of February, sent a personal check as payment they state on their web site that the coins would be shipped once the check cleared in 10 days and I would receive an email message when the coins shipped. I contacted them 2 week later, asked what happen to my order, the said they have not received the coins from their supplier, and there would be about another 2 weeks delay. I got an email message on March 29th saying the order had shipped and they provided a USPS tracking number. I checked the tracking number and it said the coins would arrive Monday April 3rd. Per the tracking information it said Priority mail and Restricted Delivery. I did not receive the coins buy Wednesday the 5th so I called Gainesville to see if they could report a missing package notice with the USPS, Now I was told they ship coins to arrive with in 15 days from ship date, "Not Priority". Today is April 8th I checked tracking and USPS and says the order would be delivered Today by 6:00pm. Conclusion: I will never make a purchase from Gainesville Coins ever again, I have ordered in the past from AMPEX and JM-Bullion and always receive my order with in 2-3 weeks. I used to do business with these people and had to ALWAYS have PATIENCE with them. They usually have good prices but they take forever to send you the product. I accidently bounced a check and once I was informed I funded the account. I informed them and never heard back from them via email or phone. I called several times and couldn't get through to the one woman I have a good business relationship with unfortunately. Then there's one young woman there that has NO PHONE ETIQUETTE whatsoever. I have used Gainesville Coins in the past. On 4 orders going back to 2021 I had no issues, received good service and product. On the 5 order, crickets. I don't remember calling but I'm sure I did. After about 2 months I filed a complaint with my bank. The number one reason to use a top bank issued credit card is that if you don't receive your goods in a reasonable period of time, the bank will issue you a refund and investigate the matter after the fact. I received my refund from the bank on my card within 48 hours. Vendors can treat you like crap, but they don't want problems with Visa and Chase. About a month later I received formal notice of order cancellation and resolution by mail from Chase. Needless to say, I have moved on. No where does it state the turn around would be 4 weeks. That's ridiculous.
