Only gave this store a star as the gal at framing desk was nice at initial estimate. The rest of service is dismal and unprofessional. I dropped off and pre-paid for framing a month ago and have heard nothing-no store member has ever reached out. Went in in person to check on order and it was apparently just laying on a work table two weeks later with no work done and no notes. I have tried calling Boise Id Location several times and no-one ever answers the phone. After resorting to National website and chat option( which took over 15 minutes for somebody to respond) I was on chat sharing all vital info and included an email with photos of receipts etc . Order couldn't be located firstly, and secondly after being online with them for over an hour and half they just stopped responding on chat with no disconnect happening. I waited half an hour and sent repeated messages asking if someone was there and still nothing. responded to email and also nothing . NEVER will do business with Micahel's again and will NEVER recommend their services or products again. read more

I love this Michaels! I've had numerous stops here the past couple months to make DIYs for my wedding. Whenever I order online, they have the order ready for me within just a few hours. They're so quick, and the process to pick up your online orders is so seamless. There was a mixup of paint colors with one of my last online orders, but it wasn't a big deal. You can find just about anything here to satisfy your crafting needs, and everyone you encounter here is extremely friendly! read more

Is it just me or does Michaels Crafts, all Michaels Crafts, smell the same when you walk in and it's some sort of familiar cinnamon spice smell? Please comment and let me know because I hope I'm not alone... LOL I really like Michels. I've had a good experience when coming in-- I mean, it's kind of a shot on what attitude you'll get from the cashier, hit-or-miss which is what Kim R was saying. Either grumpy or unappreciative teenager has been my experience. As for their stock: creative displays, lots of do-it-yourself ideas, good quality products, and a spicy cinnamon smell! The employees were wearing masks which is good but I went to grab a cart there were no sterilizing materials to clean it. As I walked in I saw some fake flowers outside at 70% off so I grabbed three. I noticed they were stuck in some styrofoam so when I pulled them out, the price tag was nowhere to be seen. I noticed about 4 employees on the floor stalking shelves. They were pleasant. Then I went to cash out. At this point, there were about 5 people in line with only one cashier working. I saw another woman with a black shirt walking around the cashier stations but not really doing anything to help the one cashier out. The lady ahead of me told the cashier "you can clean the counter now". The cashier proceeded to slightly clean but barely touched the credit card buttons. I handed her my fake flowers. She asked if I wanted to go back outside and see if I could find a price tag. Then she asked the lady in black what the price should be. The lady in black (still not doing anything) responded that they were probably in a bunch and had no idea the price. I expected her to go out and find the price but no, she was flippant and walked away. I told the cashier I would just purchase a different batch of flowers I had and leave the trashy ones I was willing to pay for! I asked the cashier if she had any sanitizer I could use. She said no. I've been to this store at least a hundred times and it's VERY hit-or-miss. Hits: A solid, basic selection. Spacious restroom and nice drinking fountain. They accept competitor's coupons, and they always have their own coupons out, too. Misses: They only change up their core merchandise once or twice a year. They don't have the newest/latest color or product line. If you are lucky enough to find someone on the salesfloor, don't bother asking them a question. I've witnessed them giving out the WRONG information about products. The checkout process is atrocious. There's always a line and I've often left my basket without waiting to check out. Restrooms sometimes not clean. I like to go in and browse, and I'll occasionally buy something. My interest is definitely waning and eventually I won't bother going at all. read more

After 40 min online with Michaels.com... with no resolution ... I address this matter to the Boise store since they apparently are unable to pull up said receipt from 11:54 return today.. I gave Ralph S.. online all the information on the receipt as far as return number.. date and time.. and in his collaboration with whomever picked up the phone at the Boise store.. they were unable to confirm the return.... The purpose of dealing with the online chat .. is that I ordered 3 items which entitled me to free shipping.. They decided they could not fulfill 2 of them so charged me $8.95 to ship the third.. That third was defective so I returned it to the store today and was credited for the item.. but not the shipping which was sprung on my after their default.. Although the chat agent started off with all the sympathy.. he was unable to resolve my return.... I told him he had an email address and 2 phone numbers to alert me to a resolution.. You can't call them! I tried four times. You get: "press 3 to talk to a team member." If you press 3, it disconnects you. If you wait on the line "for the next available team member" it disconnects you. I could see online that they have the item I want in stock, but I can't see how many they have (I need multiple) and don't have the time or willingness to make a trip to their store if they don't have what I need in stock. Ordering online, you can only order in multiples of 6 (which isn't what I need). So frustrating! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I bought a cricut 2 days ago, and was going to exchange it for a more expensive one, but was told when I got there if I used it, I could not exchange it. So the young supervisor Jessica came up to me and said that's our policy. I told her, if that is there policy, it should be told to a customer before purchase, and she giggled and said, I guess maybe we should tell people. That frustrated me, so I asked for her manager and then she laughed, and I asked if she thought this was funny and she said I am laughing because my manager is on vacation. When customers spend hundreds or even less, they should be informed on what they are buying, so they can make a decision on what they are buying, and have some little girl laugh in my face and basically tell me I can call the call center, and suggest that they won't be able to help, because it's a call center. When you cannot get any customer service at a store and not getting informed on what you are buying, this is why Michael is a dying store. I will never step foot in a Michaels again, and I will make sure I let everyone know how horrible the customer service is. read more

And I managed to snag one young gig school girl and Ask her If they had what I was looking for she said "I don't know what that is so i don't think we have it " a screw hook is an incredibly basic crafting item ... and she didn't ask anyone else , FYI workers , there is only one craft store in Boise , you guys need to do better at what you do no one is forcing you to sell crafts , learn your product and if you don't know , ask someone else , get out your phone and google it , look at your store website , to turn me away is just nuts now I have to drive all the way to the nampa location for a 3$ item because the store there is so much better read more

This morning I stopped into Michael's (Franklin Ave) Boise, ID. I put a few items into a basket (likely about $35 worth) and headed to the check outs. Another customer was chatting on a cell phone while a clerk was trying to ask her questions about a product. While I waited and waited another clerk came into the check out area; grabbed a cart full of merchandise and headed to put it on a rack....also in the check out area. As the sale was concluding; the first clerk took a telephone call and then spoke with the caller and asked the 2nd clerk several questions about something. All the while I waited and finally coming to the conclusion that shopping on line from another vendor was much superior to this service. This, I want to add is NOT my first experience of this kind at this particular Michael's store. Hobby Lobby is not as convenient for me; but Amazon sure is. I'm done.
