As they welded it together they used to much heat which damaged the honeycomb inside and pieces broke off inside which caused got clogging and could have caused a fire being the gas couldn't come out the muffler. I was obviously taken advantage of being i am a woman and that was completely WRONG. I am a single mother of two children and our safety comes first and obviously they were only thinking about the money and not our safety. I also brought my car to two different mechanics that said the same thing. Thankfully they refunded me back the money yesterday 2/3/22 to be able to pay for my car to get fixed somewhere else.

But there's nothing negative to report! This place has helped me out with everything from minor (and cheap) concerns to body damage and engine issues. They always give me a fair estimate (I've shopped around) and the work is always done surprisingly quickly. The past two times they even threw in some work without charging me (like a tire rotation or free diagnostic for a check engine light). And they were great at dealing with my insurance company and helping things to move smoothly and quickly after an accident. It's got that family business atmosphere, and you always interact with the same people, which helps with the trust-building. Even my uhaul rental experience was overly positive! There's the cutest little chihuaha hanging around, too. I highly recommend Rich's for any mechanic work or uhaul rental. That was over three weeks ago now, and I still haven't gotten a callback -- no apology, no explanation, nothing. I get that shops sometimes have to close unexpectedly, but a simple phone call would have saved me a wasted trip, and a follow-up afterward would have gone a long way. Instead, total silence. Can't recommend based on this experience -- communication was nonexistent.

If you want it done, they will do it but they won't work on it until they get permission from you. I have a clear head when I take my cars to them. I don't worry about nothing. I bought a 1999 Honda Civic back in 2000 with 18,000 miles on it from John Lant who used to own the dealership there. After 297,000 miles, the guys could not do anything more for my car. Yes, it finally died with the original clutch in it. These guys don't work weekends. Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. That is how good their business is. If you have a problem with your car, take it to Relia-Tech and put your mind at ease. They don't rip anyone off to make an extra buck. They don't work that way. They have been like this even before "social media" and we all know that it can make you or break you. Thank God they are only 10 minutes away from my house. So I called Rowland St. and they said if I want to wait during the service, I could have an appointment in about 2 days. A few more minutes on the phone and it was set up. Also, their new building has a pleasant waiting area and pleasant, low-key staff. Have you had a jiffy oil change where they try to add on unnecessary services that you don't need? That didn't happen here. I explained what I was after, I pointed out something else I found, and I got good advice on how to resolve it. There was no upselling. Finally, I figured the service I needed would be outrageously expensive, so I researched to get a feel for what I was in for. IMHO, the final bill reflected a reasonable price for parts which I expected to be marked up obscenely. The labor, too, seemed fair for the task. In all it was a lot of money but it seemed appropriate after my worrying beforehand. I didn't expect to be saying this, but I'll probably be back for my next auto service.
