PLEASE READ if considering the Swarthmore location: I brought my Prius to this shop less than a…read moreyear ago to replace a front headlight. Less than a year later, the same headlight failed, so I returned and also got an oil change. They replaced the light under warranty and changed the oil, but significant issues followed that I believe violate consumer-protection laws. In their written service report (picture attached), the shop stated that the 12-volt battery was "inaccessible" and that "no starting issues [were] present." However, when I picked up my vehicle, it would not start. My battery had never died before this visit. Their written statements therefore appear misleading and demonstrably inaccurate. When I immediately reported the issue, the shop tested the battery and told me it was in "poor health" (approximately 20%). This testing--performed only after I questioned their initial report--proves the battery was in fact accessible and capable of being evaluated. A basic battery-health check is a routine and industry-standard service, such as when an oil change is performed, and the shop proved it had the ability to conduct it before returning the vehicle to me. Instead, they documented that no starting issues were present and simultaneously claimed the battery was inaccessible. Their later explanations were defensive and inconsistent, including claims about battery accessibility that I believe are misleading, as I have statements from other mechanics confirming that removing and checking the 12-volt battery on a 2010 Prius is relatively simple and quick. Notably, during a phone call (which the shop records), Aiden--who to be fair was polite and professional--explicitly acknowledged the error by stating, "They shouldn't have wrote that." Despite this admission, the shop's service manager was unreasonable and failed to take responsibility for the inaccurate report. Just look at how they respond to this review and you'll see what I mean by them not taking responsibility for what appears to me as obvious indisputable wrongdoing. They did offer a $50 discount on a replacement battery, but later increased the quoted price by the same amount (after claiming to realize the battery they needed was $50 more than they expected) -- effectively nullifying the promised discount. Because this shop is regulated under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, their issuance of a service report containing potentially inaccurate and misleading statements may implicate PA Code § 301.5, which prohibits deceptive or misleading representations. I will be filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection so this matter can be properly investigated. This is not to mention all the minor hiccups along the way, such as after the battery was replaced when they gave me the keys to someone else's car. And when I got the right keys and turned my car on, it made a strange and concerningly loud rumbling sound I have never heard before. To be fair and honest, I acknowledge that Aiden and several staff members were polite, and the shop's courtesy ride service is convenient. However, these minor positives do not outweigh what I experienced as significant service errors and a lack of accountability.

I brought my car to Harvey Automotive for a check engine issue and paid nearly $700 for the repair. I was told the issue was fixed. I drove away and within about 30 minutes, the same check engine light came back on with the exact same code. Once I got home and the shop was closed, I noticed a wallet sitting on the passenger. The mechanic, Carl, said he left it in my car. I immediately returned it to the shop with everything untouched. because I believe in karma and do right by others. I did not hesitate to do the right thing. During that call, I told him the check engine light had returned. He asked me to bring the car back Monday, and I did exactly that. When I returned the car, I calmly explained that I was concerned because I had just paid nearly $700 and the same problem had returned. I even asked if another technician could take a look if Carl was having difficulty identifying the cause. I was reassured by the front desk that Carl was the best technician they had and that if he could not figure it out, no one could. I trusted them and left my car there. Later that day, Scott called me and explained that I would owe another few hundred dollars, although he said he was crediting the labor from the original repair. He told me the issue had been addressed with zip ties and that the alternative would cost thousands. I simply asked, respectfully, how it was a deal if I had already paid for the repair, received my car back with the exact same problem, and then had to pay again to correct it. That question completely changed his demeanor. Scott snapped at me and said, and I quote, "Fine, since you don't understand how about you don't get a deal at all and now you can pay full price." He then called me "HIGH MAINTENANCE" and yelled, "You come in here questioning my guys!" I was stunned. I was not yelling. I was not demanding anything unreasonable. I was asking for clarity about being charged again for an issue I had already paid to have repaired. I am neurodivergent and have ADHD. Sometimes I need an extra moment to process information or ask questions in order to fully understand something. That should never be treated as an invitation to belittle a paying customer. Asking questions about the work being performed on my own vehicle should not result in being insulted. What made this experience even more painful was that I had been a loyal customer for years. I referred people to this business. I was consistently polite and respectful. I even returned a mechanic's wallet immediately after finding it in my car. I cared about treating them with integrity, and I expected the same basic respect in return. I also cannot ignore how the interaction felt to me as a Black woman. I cannot prove what was in Scott's mind, and I will not pretend to know his intentions. But I know how I was treated, and I know that I increasingly felt as though I had to shrink myself, carefully choose my words, and avoid asking questions just to be treated kindly. That should never be necessary. I was so concerned about the condition of my car and what might happen while it was still in their possession that I stayed calm, told Scott I would pay whatever was required, and went to retrieve my vehicle. When I arrived, he ultimately told me not to worry about paying. I left and never returned. A year later, after finding a new mechanic, I finally learned how the previous repair had been done. Seeing the makeshift work, including black zip ties used near the hot engine, was deeply upsetting. It confirmed for me that I had made the right decision to find someone else. Looking back, I realize I stayed with Harvey Automotive for too long. It was convenient. I could drop my car off and walk home, and because I kept telling myself that maybe the distance and coldness I felt were all in my head. I am sharing this because someone else may be sitting in the same position I was in, wondering whether they are asking too many questions or expecting too much. You are not asking too much by wanting the work you paid for to actually resolve the problem. You are not "high maintenance" for wanting an explanation. And you should never have to walk into a business wondering whether simply asking a question will cause the owner to turn on you. My new mechanic is completely different. I can ask questions. I can ask for clarification. I can be a customer without being made to feel like a problem. I am grateful I finally listened to my gut and found a place where I feel respected. I hope this review saves someone else the stress, expense, and hurt that I experienced. I mean zip ties? You can do better. I'm so happy now, my mechanic is honest, kind, and has become a friend of the family. DON'T GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR TIME God bless.

From my very first vehicle to the one I drive now, Ozzy has been the only person I trust to look at my cars. Every time I've bought a new vehicle, I brought it straight to him because I know he will give me the truth and nothing but the truth. What makes Ozzy different is his character. No matter how busy he is, if I stop by with a concern, he always listens to what I'm saying, and takes the time to explain what's going on. That kind of patience and kindness is rare. Recently, I was going through a lot personally, and on top of that, my car suddenly showed a warning saying "battery power is reduced." I was scared to even drive it. I went straight to Ozzy. He came outside, looked at everything, and instantly knew what the problem was. When he told me the price, I was shocked--but then he said something I will never forget: "As a goodwill courtesy, I'll take care of it." Who does that? Tell me--what mechanic does that in 2026? I dropped the car off the next day, went to work, and a few hours later he called to say it was DONE. What should have cost me around $1,000 ended up costing me nothing because he saw I was struggling and chose to help. That is the kind of man he is. Not to mention his staff--especially the gentleman I believe is his brother. They are all respectful, honest, and genuinely good people. They treat you like family, not like a dollar sign. Ozzy literally saved my vehicle. I was driving around with an issue that could have blown my head gasket at any moment, and with one look he knew exactly what was wrong. His knowledge is unmatched, and his heart is even bigger. For all the women out there who are tired of dealing with shady, dishonest mechanics--this is the place you want to go. Ozzy is upfront, patient, and explains everything clearly. No games, no tricks, no runaround. I will never take my car anywhere else. He has earned a customer for life. If you're looking for a mechanic who truly walks the walk and talks the talk, Milana Auto Group is the only name you need. Thank you, Ozzy. May God continue to bless you with many more customers, because you deserve every bit of success that comes your way. L.
