There is another Yelp review where the same thing was done to another patient. I also received almost no guidance or support in the process of tapering off the meds. I had to pay $25 to ask medical questions. Her answers were always to suggest something I was already taking or something I had already told her I couldn't take as if my chart wasn't even checked. I did not find her care 'integrative'. There was no talk of mind, spirit, or nervous system regulation. No checking with symptoms. Everything was based on $$$$ in labs which were treated with $$$$ in supplements. Her focus was pushing energy when what my system needed was gentle support and nurture.

I was calling to confirm my mother's appointment today and the lady that answered when you hit option 1 downright sounded angry off the jump. She didn't say who she was when she answered and I was confused, so I asked "is this scheduling?" And she said "what do you want ma'am!?". I then asked what her name was and she hung up on me. Literally that was it. I feel bad for the elderly patients that call in hoping to speak to someone with medical compassion. I knew I needed professional care - just in case the object was stuck in the inner ear. The clinic opened promptly at 8am as advertised and I was the 3rd one seen. The nurse, then doctor Nate, examined my ear and agreed the nurse would irrigate it. This was done at once. They found no evidence of any object in my ear. I thanked both people for their excellent, friendly, swift care. After church, back home, I found the missing object stuck in the bathroom sink drain, and sent a mss to the nurse and Nate letting them know and thanking them once again. I have had many medical encounters, and this was among the BEST in my 82 years. I hope my review will be shared with all wanting to know more about this kind, efficient and caring venue. The person at the counter said that the online check in doesn't work.And that they could take me at that time. Unfortunately, since I had given them as much time as I could.I was not able to get my blood work done there.I will be rebooking in a different location. It seems to me that if the location knows that they're online check in system is not working.And they see someone sitting in their waiting room for forty five minutes unattended that perhaps they should check in and see if perhaps that person did the online check in. Before the 15 minutes were up, a really nice physician came to examine me. She was professional & friendly. When she learned they had already tested me for COVID, she went to check on the results. For the first time, I was diagnosed with COVID. I had dodged it for over 5 years. She gave me a typed out prescription as some pharmacy computer systems were down at that time. She explained how to take the medication. I was back in my car in close to 3O minutes after I arrived. I read some of the reviews about wait times, but I can't remember ever waiting for more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. And I usually spend less time waiting in the exam room (on occasion my doctor is ~15 minutes behind schedule). I do try to get early morning appointments for these reasons. I appreciate the phlebotomists when I get blood work done-- they are always friendly and quick, and I get my results back within a couple of days. Like most doctor's offices, the doctors themselves know a wide range of things, but in my opinion they are more incentivized to prevent a lawsuit than to actually solve your issues. On multiple occasions I was suggested a short-term fix for my issues (like medications that didn't really solve my issue) rather than a more holistic or well-thought-out approach. That's why I use this office mostly for yearly physicals/bloodwork and referrals, instead of comprehensive preventative care. But I can't blame Duke Health for this, it's more of an institutional problem in the US.

A security guard standing around doing nothing didn't help, but having one present was comforting. The front desk staff was friendly, however the workflow for the facility was a lil' weird. they had kiosk stations where you had to go to 'sign in', however after that was done, you would see the front desk to officially 'check in'. After being taken back for triage (blood pressure, weight, height), you are escorted to the back area where the rooms look like you are in a hospital. There is a central command area in the middle with a bunch of rooms on the outside, giving a central station command to run the office. (I thought this was very well executed). The nurses and staff were very friendly, as were the regular staff (custodial). The physicians spent plenty of time with me going over all of my test results as well as discussing issues that I was having. I had to get some blood work as well, and the phlebotomist's that were in the lab were extremely professional. I was definitely impressed by this facility and look forward to using them as my primary location for my physicians
