One of the worst things about moving to a new area is finding a new doctor. Fortunately, we were happy with our first visit here, which was just a new patient physical and routine blood work/prescription refills for both me and my husband. The office is clean, spacious, and modern. Front desk staff seem friendly, if a bit harried. One of the first things that impressed me is that there's a whiteboard behind the front desk that shows which providers are running late (and by how much) and who is out for the day.
All of the staff I interacted with were great. I had specifically wanted a nurse practitioner for my primary care physician, because I've had many good experiences with nurse practitioners in the past. (Nurse practitioners have a graduate degree in nursing and are qualified to do a lot of the same things a medical doctor does, like diagnosing and treating illnesses, writing prescriptions, ordering tests, etc.) There are two FNPs here. I had an appointment with Nikki McKnight, and my husband saw KayLyn Morrissey. We really liked them and thought they did an excellent job.
Lab work is done in-house, which is very convenient and quick. I had to wait about 10 minutes after my exam for the phlebotomist, which is really nothing compared to other clinics where you have to make a separate appointment at a lab elsewhere. And I had my results back in 24 hours, easily accessible through the Duke MyChart website. Overall, our experience was really positive and we plan to continue coming here for our medical needs. read more
