It's a rare treat to find someone who is at the top of their game, and enjoying being there at the same time. Michael Seda is one such doctor. Professional, affable, amenable, and extremely competent; his office, and the demeanor of the entire staff, somehow manage to turn one of the most cringe-inducing experiences in all of health care, into something more like a spa visit -- nearly painless, and no drama. I went there to have a difficult extraction (molar with a fractured root and a severe infection causing bone loss) and subsequent implant. The implant is coming as soon as the bone heals, and the extraction went very smoothly and with extraordinarily little discomfort. Dr. Seda communicated clearly, set expectations appropriately for the situation, and then proceeded to far exceed those expectations, in terms of treatment quality and comfort (or lack of discomfort). His use of cutting-edge technology (3-D cone-beam imaging and pre-surgical modeling, etc.) is exemplary -- nothing gratuitous, just the things that actually make for better treatment. I am over a year tardy in writing this review, but I wanted to make sure I posted something, as I know that this can an expensive procedure for someone and one that is fairly major (I had receding gums, I had a soft tissue allograft). Dr. Seda and the whole team were professional and thorough right from the start. Explained everything in detail and set accurate expectations. Dr. Seda came recommended by my dentist and I can see why. The team is very experienced and good at what they do. I always felt in good hands. The recovery was right along the expectations they set. Not a fun recovery process, but at least I knew what to expect going in. I actually think I had prepared for worse and was pleased it did not meet that! The one aspect I wish had been different was the cost. It was very expensive. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Seda and his team if you need this type of procedure. read more

My experience with Dr. Seda and his entire staff was one of professionalism, friendly atmosphere and most important they took good care to ensure I would be as comfortable as possible during my gum graft. What I really appreciate is the follow up sessions to ensure the graft took and now I am thrilled to have no pain in that area of my mouth when drinking cold or hot beverages. I am fortunate enough to have a dentist that picks great specialists to visit his practice. Today I was treated by Dr. Seda for my first ever (and hopefully last) tooth extraction. I was pretty nervous, and I'm generally stoic about things like endodontics, gum treatments and the like. Dr. Seda really stood out with his fantastic patient care manner. He took plenty of time to make sure I understood what was going to be done, what might have to be done (now or later) and even the long-shot re-treat that might be necessary 3 months from now. I was referred to Dr. Seda by my dentist, Dr. Jeff Geissberger, as I have receding gums. I had previously been seen by Dr. Wooton. Dr. Seda and his staff are amazing. They are extremely patient, listening to my concerns and asking about me as a person and not just a patient in the chair. I had to have extensive gum repair surgery, and Dr. Seda was phenomenal. There was no pain during the procedure, and the pain medication following met my needs. Moreover, the staff followed up numerous times to inquire about my recovery. The front desk team is extremely flexible with scheduling, recognizing that I alternate visits every three months between my normal dental cleanings and here. Dr. Seda is a phenomenal periodontist. From the beginning (with the initial consultation appointment), I felt very comfortable with him, for a variety of reasons. First, he spent time with me explaining in great detail each facet of my dental scenario and the potential options available to treat it, always ensuring that any and all questions I had were addressed. Second, he laid out the options, including their respective costs, in a way that made it clear that he was not trying to sell unnecessary services to me. It's evident that he cares about doing top-notch work and isn't willing to do less than that; but, it's also obvious that he doesn't buy into the notion that the best option is necessarily the most expensive. Third, I very much appreciate that Dr. Seda is an empathic and communicative human being with me. This seems to be an increasingly rarer quality among many medical professionals, so his care and attention are particularly salient, and appreciated. Lastly, as a person who tends to be somewhat needle-phobic, I can honestly say that my entire extraction and implant procedure was simple. Truly, other than the tiny prick of the initial needle (for novacaine), there was no pain throughout or after the procedure. I was actually relaxed throughout the surgery, listening to the ipod he handed to me before he began. It has now been a week since my surgery, and my healing & recuperation have both been 100% straightforward. I've needed no pain killers, and was able to get back to work immediately. His administrative assistant is also very helpful, with scheduling as well as with insurance-related matters. Refreshingly different from many other dental clinics, and top-notch in every regard! Excellent experience. So glad we found Dr Seda to do the pinhole technique! I had been told over a year previously that I needed to have gum surgery for my receding gums. They were painful and I was more than hesitant about having the procedure done. Dr. Seda put me at ease and had me looking forward to my surgery and day of rest I highly recommend Dr Seda & his staff. Dr Seda thoroughly explained the pinhole technique & our options regarding waiting & potentially doing the grafting technique later on. His staff was also very helpful explaining the expense and insurance. I had the pinhole technique done on one quadrant a year ago and then I had 2 quadrants done in January. All have healed beautifully! I have beautiful gums now and no pain! The surgery itself was relatively painless. I took the recommended pain medication and slept most of the entire day of the surgery. After that there was swelling and avoiding eating on that side of the mouth. The most annoying part was probably not being able to brush normally and floss until being given the all clear. So, overall mild inconvenience and pain for healthy gums in the end:) read more

I came Dr Seda after my dentist Roger Solo had been recommending him for two years to have him fix my gingivitis . Being strong headed has I am I didn't take his advice and thought if I just water pik and flossed on a regular basis I could solve it myself. Self-will run riot. Well after my gum pockets continued to get deeper and then one of my crowns cracked. I was between a rock and a hard place. So I called the dr seda's office and a very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful office associate Michelle walked me thru the steps to my full recovery. Dr Seda consulted in the procedures and suggested I have my gums cleaned by a laser first to bring the life back in them. Which I did shortly after with incredible results. It not only brought my gums back to life it reattached the gum line (without removing any gum tissue) to the healthy surface of teeth stopping any further bleeding and deep pockets that was causing infection that lead to my deterioration of root strength and cracked crown foundation. Next was the preliminary steps for my implant that would involve a sinus lift to add structure for implant post. To save time very smooth and painless without the need for pain medicine afterwards just ibuprofen. Keep in mind Dr Seda is a Harvard graduate and Columbia university of Dentistry Graduate. After sinus lift healed and post was placed Dr Solo placed the actual crown . Dr Seda was very kind to arrange a payment program to pay for everything too. Post for implants vary greatly and if your dentist and oral surgeon are not working together there will be great failure rate in the results. Thank God I didn't have to learn this the hard way has some of my friends. I'm not a big Yelp review writer my second one ever but I just had to because of incredible experience. nice and professional; but didn't care for me at all when he was through - he also didn't tell me that the procedure would change my smile and the shape of my face! i look like a basset hound ;( one side of my mouth is all droopy 1/2 inch lower than the other side - and all the meds made my teeth yellow ;(( i would never EVER do this again! plus he didn't tell me this - but i later found out you can get a plaster filler that does the same job to protect your roots of your teeth! good luck, people! don't do it! read more

michael seda is a true professional, a perfectionist and a good guy. i knew i was going to have to have something done about my receding gums and when i met with dr. seda for my consultation he walked me through all of my options. he was really upfront and clear in describing why my gums were receding and how long he would normally wait to do a surgical procedure. i knew mine were advanced so was ready to get the surgery and he seemed like the right guy for the job. i got three teeth done in two separate sessions and both times dr. seda was really clear with what was going to happen, how he was going to do it, how long it would take and what to expect after. he was really concerned about my well being during the procedures constantly asking if i was feeling any pain and giving me breaks throughout. each time he started something new he told me what phase of the procedure we were in and how long it would be. the post surgery recovery was exactly as he described and he went out of his way to make sure i could reach him if anything happened. i felt like i was in great hands the entire time and my gums look like nothing ever happened. i've shown them to several friends who have said the same. this is definitely the guy you want working on your gums. read more
