Michael was everything we expected in a quality painter. He showed up on time for the initial meeting and we had a quote within a couple days. Once we agreed on the start date, he was on the job every day, very punctual, and finished within the promised timeframe. We would definitely recommend Michael to our friends and would also use him again for any future projects. read more

I just used Michael to paint the trims of my house after having seen all the wonderful reviews. He has been nothing short of excellent! He arrived on time to provide a reasonable quote for the work and we scheduled it. Mike came on the day he said he would at the time he said he would, which is huge for me. He and his team even worked on the weekend in order to expedite the project and it has come out pristine! I was so impressed I asked him about painting my interior in the future. Without a doubt I will be calling him again and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a wonderful painter! read more

Mike did a great job painting our house. Very friendly and professional, fair price. Thanks again!

we hired him to paint the inside of our house 1900 ft.² and he charged us almost $20,000. He quit the job before he finished. He never came and did the touchups like he said he was gonna do and I'm finding places all over the house where he just didn't paint like windowsills cabinets that he said he paint inside the closet. It was very frustrating. He was also going to paint our stairs and couldn't figure it out and I paid him 98% of what we owed him and he said he was coming back and then he told me he'd only come back if we paid him more. very disappointing and he slept at our house without our permission for weeks when I told him no more sleeping over that's when he quit and wanted to charge us more because he had to drive to and from the job, which was ridiculous cause him staying at our beach house was never part of the price. very passive aggressive and dishonest read more

Michael is passionate about his work. He cares about the details of each painting job. Michael has painted several rooms including crown molding and baseboards. The latest project was painting the solid oak front doors a gorgeous black. Michael takes time to prepare his job site and does not cut corners. All communication has always been exceptional. Michael is on time and leaves your home looking beautiful and refreshed. I highly recommend Michael for your next painting job. read more

We've had Michael do several painting projects for us over the years, both interior and exterior, and he's always done a fantastic job! He is reliable, shows up when he says he's going to, does what he says he going to, and his work is neat. Any missed spots (and there have been very few), he comes back and makes it right no questions asked. All that and reasonable prices too! Who could ask for more?! Highly recommend!! read more

Very reasonable and excellent work. He finished earlier than promised. When does that happen? Highly recommend him! read more

We hired Michael to do a repaint of our newly purchased home, instead of the higher priced painter our general contractor recommended. I'm sorry that we did. Yes, we saved a bit of money on the front side, but we sacrificed quality of work, final finishing, and any touch ups. Let's be clear. Michael agreed, as part of our contract, to do touch ups after our contractor was done. He did not. Months later, phone calls and emails have not been returned, our cabinets have not been finished, door frames in one room remain completely untouched, and there is still blue tape marking several places that need to be fixed. Ultimately, we will end up spending more just to have someone else come in and finish what Michael did not. Very disappointed. read more

Michael provided top notch service in painting the interior of our house. He was always on time and was always cheerful and friendly as he carried out his work. His estimate was among several my wife obtained, and his estimate was very competitive. My wife was particularly pleased with the results, and she has high standards. Michael deserves your serious consideration the next time you need a painter. I know that he will be at the top of our list. read more

Watch out for fake reviews, it is the next big thing for e-commerce. In my opinion, it is the purest form of advertising. I bring this up because Michael Saul Painting lives up to his 5-star rating and is a working professional. Consumers are becoming more and more educated and can distinguished good work from bad work. I'm not here to discuss the paradoxical effects of review-reading prior to buying or the lasting impressions of what I call "item thought" training. Great communication from Mike via phone and showed up as promised, when promised. Punctual. I also need to acknowledge his availability and flexible schedule. Communication with Mike was on point and the price for the work done was very reasonable. It's a big risk to have any vendor you aren't familiar with work on your property. Mike painted an exterior door plus shutter and painted them nicely, paying attention to detail. Thanks for read more

Needed a fresh look for our living room, and Michael Saul was the guy to call. His skill and attention to detail were awesome, and the room looks beautiful and professionally finished. He also did the doors and casings around the living room, and two other bedroom doors and a bathroom and closet door, and they also look amazing. Having him back to do my ceilings, master bedroom and my study. I wish all contractors cared this much about the final results! read more

Mike painted our upstairs bedrooms and did a great job. Very professional and friendly. Will use him again

There are so many contractors / painters out there but none will give you a professional high quality result you are looking for at a reasonable price like Mike. We picked out the paint color, told him what we were going for as far as decor and he did the job. Bedroom came out awesome and the stained wood doors look brand new! I just want to say how professional this guy is. He came to my house fully dressed ready to go just like a professional paint contractor showed he had the right equipment in the right tools to take care the problem that I needed. When Mike showed me some of the issues that was going on with my house I didn't realize that this was a bigger deal than it needed to be. He remove some of the wood paneling and replace it at an affordable price because I had termite damage. We primed and painted all the panels. Michael worked on my house for three days and he was on time every single day. If anybody's looking for an honest affordable and reliable paint contractor give Mike a call! read more

Michael painted the exterior and interior of my parents' house to prepare it for sale. Beautiful work. Great attention to detail. Very accommodating of all requests for changes. Hey fellow home owners, always do your homework when it comes to having anyone work on your house, even your painter! I searched all over yelp and cross referenced with CSLB (contractors state license board). Yes, it will be more expensive to use someone with a proper license, insurance and workers comp insurance. BUT IT IS WORTH IT! We bought an older home that needed a lot of work. I found 3 painters in the area that had all the proper legal stuff. I chose him not because he was the cheapest (he was the middle of the three) but because he was responsive and easy to communicate with. He has now done 4 separate projects with us since May 2016 including paint, patching, removal of popcorn ceiling, and wall paper removal. He is very punctual and easy to work with. His prices are fair. I always communicate with him via text/phone call. AND he and his guys are very careful with our belongings and they clean up after themselves everyday! If you are looking for a trustworthy good painter, Mike is your guy! Thanks Mike!! read more

I just finished my third job with Mike. The first job was medium, the second job was small and this last job was big. Mike and his team painted the entire interior of my two story home including ceilings. I have been very happy with Mike on all three projects. The quality of work is great, his prices are reasonable and Mike is a cool dude! At the beginning of the project Mike painted different samples in multiple rooms to make sure we got the exact color we wanted. During the last job I had contractors doing work while Mike's team was painting. It definitely made it challenging for Mike's crew, but Mike was really cool and understanding about getting the job done timely even though we kept on throwing road blocks at him. Mike is on-site every day to make sure progress is being made and he did a thorough walk through at the end to make sure I was happy with the work. The next time I have a painting project Mike will be the only person I call. read more

Mike just completed a job for me at a rental that was in need of much work. He did everything I asked him to do and more. His attention to detail is of great value. Another big plus for me was that he had a very good eye for what needed to be done in terms of repairs/replacement of fixtures, etc. I could go on and on - his ability to do repairs was a tremendous help for me as a landlord. Not having to call in other trades made the job much easier with him. He can do it all! Highly, highly recommend him. Thanks again, Mike. read more

Professional, reasonably priced, and well mannered is all anyone can ask of a business doing work on your house. These qualities describe Michael Saul Painting to a tee. They do great work and are willing to listen to their customers and advise them on the best course of action for the job, not just what gets them more billed hours. We will be using their services again. read more

Mike painted my sister's first home and he did an amazing job. When I bought my first house he was the only person I thought to call to paint the interior for me. I texted him on a Saturday to just get a quote and he showed up same day, priced out the job, started on Tuesday and finished up by Friday. He worked around our needs and finished our downstairs first so my family had a place to relax. The quality and price are unbeatable. I still have a few more rooms to get to and Mike is definitely the only person that I will call to do them for me. Thanks Mike for everything you did! read more

I needed work done in my house on short notice with a tight deadline. Mike came through when many painters wouldn't even return my call. He was professional and accommodating throughout the job. Very patient with my requests, even when the scope of work went beyond what we had originally agreed upon. I knew I was in good hands with his expertise and attention to detail. Will definitely recommend and use again. read more

Saddened to amend my initial review. Michael was initially great to work with, but once I paid 50% of the job fee upfront, (a larger deposit than he requested) the experience began to change. Ultimately, he agreed to return after the initial job was done, to perform touch ups after our contractors had finished their work. Once the initial painting was finished, he simply stopped returning my calls, e-mails or texts all together. He breached his verbal agreement to return and perform touch ups, and he completely missed several doors in our new master suite that were supposed to be painted. Our kitchen cabinets have numerous sloppy areas on them, as well as spots I will have to touch up myself. Yes, he threw in some freebies, and was friendly initially, and that was much appreciated. Nothing however, makes up for failing to preform the job as agreed. He raised his voice at me on several occasions, once in front of my wife, this surprisingly after I had discussed a complete exterior re-paint with him this coming spring. Needless to say, we'll be looking elsewhere for that work. I was a faux finish painter for years, and understand this is a service industry, based upon reputation and customer experience. Really disappointed at this unprofessional conduct. read more

Michael Saul Painting just finished an interior paint job at our residence. The 3.5 day job involved several walls and doors, including trim and a high stairway. We were very happy with the work performed by Michael and his employee. The paint looks great. All workers showed up when promised, and were very professional at the job. In addition to the great painting, the bid (and final cost) was a good 30-40% less than the other two bids we received for the work. I would use Michael Saul Painting again, and would recommend them to anyone. read more

We have used MICHAEL to paint several of our rental houses, as well as the house where we live. He is reliable and efficient, and knows how to deal with problem paint issues. Also importantly, he has workers' compensation insurance, a must for anyone who understands the serious risk of using uninsured painters or contractors. He is also well capable of doing miscellaneous "handyman" repairs, which are often necessary when we are having a house painted, restored or remodeled. read more
