Dr. Pollack is the best dentist I have had in my life (looking at 6+ decades there!). He does great work with minimal discomfort and puts patients at ease. His advice is proactive, and he's careful to warn me when I might need dental work in the future (eg, when an old filling might give out in the next year and need a replacement crown). If I leave an off-hours message, the followup is swift and helpful. When I've needed a referral (implant, root canal), he's directed me to excellent practices. Everybody at this practice does an A+++ job. Upon arrival, Claudia and Claire welcome you with a smiley greeting, even with masks on :). Cheryl is friendly and comical; we laughed and she made me feel at ease. The nice hygienist was gentle and very professional. Cheryl took my x-rays and communicated my concerns to Dr. Pollack who is a superb dentist and works really well with his team. Dr. Pollack took care to ask questions about my previous dental care. He was kind, responsive and very reassuring. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Pollack checked that I was doing okay and encouraged me, showing genuine care and giving me a huge sense of security. I DID have a great experience and felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I felt empowered to bring my little one in for his first appointment to a pediatric dentist practice the lovely ladies at the reception recommended. Not the dentist to go to if you need anything more complicated than the most basic filling. Archaic equipment, skills and knowledge. Also not the dentist to go to if aesthetics are important to you. Dr. Pollack filled a white tooth with a dark gray composite filling and cemented a corn-yellow, ill-fitting crown on my elderly mother. When we had to have it redone because of the bad fit, he replaced it with a chalk white one. Office will nickel and dime you for every bib, paper cup and glove used. read more

I had two appointments at this office over the last year. While I was satisfied with the care I received from the hygienists, my biggest complaints were 1) despite confirming they were in Humana's network, they weren't, 2) upon his request I spent 10-15 minutes helping Dr. Pollack with his computer at the end of my first visit - very unprofessional, and 3) Dr. Pollack didn't show up to my second appointment. One top of this, the practice itself is not very convenient or accessible. It's located in a dark hallway on the second floor of an apartment building (which the patient needs to call to get the entry code for) and they don't communicate by email. Please seek a better and more professional practice than this one. read more

Avoid this dentist, no matter how qualified medically. He's in business mainly to extract customers' money along with their teeth, tacking on needless "services" above those the customer requests or are medically justified. I contacted his office from my overseas university in Nov. 2014 for an appointment for a one-time basic hygienist cleaning during an upcoming academic conference in DC. I was offered 3 openings and quoted a fee over $240! I was required to agree to $100+ for X-rays (though I wouldn't see the dentist again), his inspection, and fluoride treatment. I told the secretary I'd be happy to with just the cleaning I actually needed and emailed to confirm these wishes. An appointment was made for 25 Nov. at 8:40 am. After sitting on my email (while I assumed for days my appointment was valid), the office emailed barely a week from my conference saying Dr Pollack had decided to cancel my appointment based on the bland rationale that "it was best to see my own dentist." (I had requested only a hygienist.) Now I have no chance left to make alternative plans. Beware of gratuitous fees here and insensitive service! read more

After a Google search and a very quick and professional phone call with Dr. Pollack's extremely friendly and helpful staff I had my first appointment. In all of my visits to Dr. Pollack's office the staff has been extremely friendly and welcoming. Dr. Pollack and his assistant have also been extremely friendly and helpful. Whenever I have required additional procedures Dr. Pollack has always taken the time to make sure I am aware of exactly what needs to be done and how it will be done, while also taking the time to answer any and all questions I have had. Honestly I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Pollack and his staff, I highly recommend making him your primary dentist. read more

Pretty disappointing all around. I was a patent of Dr. Pollacks for over a year and always felt uncomfortable with his office. While he and his dental assistance were courteous, his front office staff needs improvement. I constantly felt like everything was about the money and not about the patient care or experience. I constantly felt pressured and under educated and always seemed to have a bill to pay that was never fully explained as to why. It became easier to just pay the bills than try to deal with his incompetent front staff. Even now that I have moved out of state I am unable to get a copy of my medical records without an extreme fee ($55+ for xray copies and $0.69 per page of copied medical records). Who charges PER PAGE to copy my medical records!!?? I recommend going somewhere else rather than putting up with their hassle. read more

One evening after work I was over 20 minutes late for an appointment, and frustrated because that entire time I was walking around lost in the maze of Blair Mill buildings...I was prepared to reschedule my appointment but both Claudia and Dr. Pollack patiently guided me to the right place AND stayed late to service me. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the office location and furnishings (I'm a bit of an OCD germophobe). Scam!!! Beware People,& avoid This Dentist. He lied to me I had many cavities that needed fillings.Unfortunately, I took the bait and scheduled a second visit weeks ago. During the procedure I realized he was drilling holes into some teeth that were perfectly healthy, instead of working on the teeth with real cavities that were causing me pain on the opposite side. When I asked why he was working on those teeth he said it's his Strategy, and told me I will have to schedule future visits for fillings in the teeth on the other side that were hurting (the ones that truly needed the fillings). Red Flag!!! I should have trusted my instincts and walked right out. A re-examination of my X-rays at the end of the ordeal showed there was nothing wrong with the teeth he operated on. I believe he drilled holes in them intentionally to squeeze more cash out of me. I also saw numerous questionable charges on the bill. I felt cheated and wounded because he caused unnecessary damage to my healthy teeth that could become more problematic down the road. He was dismissive when I asked him to show me the cavities on the x-ray and told me I won't be able to see them anyways. Why on earth will he start off working on invisible cavities instead of the ones that needed immediate care? He must have realized I caught on to his scam because he became dismissive and they were reluctant to give me a copy of my X-rays (which they also charge heavily for by the way). Please don't fall for Dr. Pollack's scams. read more

This dentist is a cheapskate. Check out his "fees," such as those for X-ray processing, that I have never been charged before by any other dentist, as well as others that I have never even heard of before, such as those for needle removal, which were described by my insurance company, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, as "outrageous." Check out his office--the carpet looks like it has not been replaced in decades, is marked by mismatched swaths in different rooms, with little strips between rooms, and the walls have smudges and dents. Check out the impact of his financial self-interest on patient treatment: I saw him for the first time after being seen by my old dentist (in another state) for years and who, at the most recent visit, didn't find any problems. Dr. Pollack recommended, at my visit three months ago, that I have two crowns put in, my gums rebuilt and a mouth guard made. I refused everything and am pleased to say that I have not had to see a dentist since. Finally, with respect to competence, check this: He managed to lose my X-rays, the ones he was trying to charge me to get access to. read more
