This is the second time I visited him since two different general dentists (one five years ago and the other now). The first was because of a broken tooth but Dr. Sanchez recommended extraction rather than root canal, which I had done by another dentist when I got back to Florida. This second time was because my FL dentist wanted me to see an endodontist due due to extreme pain when eating something cold- love that Tillamook Ice Cream! Having had such a good first experience with Dr. Sanchez, I waited until I returned to LI to see Dr. Sanchez. He examined my x-rays and the tooth that my dentist had capped 6 weeks ago and also the adjoining teeth. He doubted that the capped one needed a root canal and after testing the adjoining teeth determined with reasonable certainty that one of them was the culprit due to a suspected hairline fracture and receding gumline which creates the opportunity for sensitivity. So this is the second time I was sent to him for possible root canal and the second time he advised against it. His opinion the first time turned out to be the correct course and I have no doubt that this one will be the same. I cannot recommend him enough for his friendliness, completely understandable diagnosis and plan for further wait and see. I have no doubt because of my experience with him and the other reviews that if I end up needing RC, he is the man! But the way the pain is diminishing I think he is correct and that the sensitivity will diminish over time. Do not hesitate to see him and his clean, modern office with all the latest hi tech equipment. He will only do the root canal if he is certain it is needed.

From the start, he made my son feel very comfortable during the entire procedure. He even introduced himself as "Phil," gave my son multiple fist bumps, and offered lots of praise and encouragement. We had previously seen another endodontist who told us he wouldn't be able to perform the root canal because my son was "too wiggly" and suggested IV sedation. Dr. Mascia, however, was able to successfully complete the procedure using just Novocain and nitrous oxide. That meant so much to us. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and caring. Her staff found me a great oral surgeon nearby who would see me, ordered my meds from my local pharmacy, gave me medication for pain and had me go directly to the surgeon. Last time the GPS sent me to the wrong end of Fox St; and kept rerouting me back to the same spot. Today the GPS did it's job. The front desk staff informed Dr. Blondin that I was here; and almost immediately I was ushered into an exam room. His assistant had me in two bibs to protect my clothes, asked if I wanted music, I thought I was on a cruise ship. Every knob, handle, wire, instrument in the room was covered with plastic. The Zeiss microscope was in its own sealed plastic bag. Dr. Blondin was in shortly. He explained what was going to happen today in his cheerful and reassuring voice. After a local analgesic; the work began. A dental dam was applied, then the drilling began. All the while the doctor was letting me know what was going on during the procedure. A few X-rays latter I was almost done. The X-rays showed the true picture of the bicuspid and the repair done. I'm way past the age of being in awe of anything. This endodontist office leaves me awestruck. Everyone does their job with precision and acumen. If you need a great endodontist - This is the place to go to first. What's that old saying? "you've seen the rest; now see the best". I'm paraphrasing.
