I finally stopped looking when I found Dr. Butler years ago. Whenever I have a problem, I am 100% confident that he will take care of it and he does! I really appreciate that Dr. Butler has never pushed "this or that" on me by trying to "brighten my smile" or "make it better" with expensive treatments. I truly feel he cares for the oral care of his patients and is not out to make money by suggesting unnecessary and costly treatments. I have never been in shock or upset by any amounts (if any) that I have owed Dr. Butler for his care. Mostly my insurance covers any procedures, but whatever is not covered-I am happy to pay. My 12 year old daughter and my new husband recently started going to see him also. My daughter says, "Dr. Butler is really nice and the appointments are fun!" You know, I have to agree with her! We always get a warm welcome, the wait is never long, and we enjoy talking with Dr. Butler and Joanna during the visits. Dr. Butler fixes the problem, and we are out the door. We always say the same thing when we get back to the car-"Wow! That was fast!" I plan on going to Dr. Butler for all my family's dental care for as long as he is in practice, and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants excellent dental care. Thank you Dr. Butler and Joanna for being so wonderful! We will see you at our next appointment!

DR. NICKEL LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE! Prior to him, my health had declined for 25 yrs, not knowing…read morethe cause. Several auto immune diseases developed, to where many days I couldn't function. I found out through Dr. Nickel, I had blood infection and bone infection/dead bone in my jaw (due to a failed procedure when I was 15 yrs old to remove a wisdom tooth). That oral surgeon (don't remember his name) neglected to inform my family he left a portion of my tooth in me which became very neurotoxic. Prior to Dr. Nickel, I found out from a dentist, 30 yrs after the failed procedure, the wisdom tooth chip was still in me. So, a 2nd surgery attempt was made to remove the chip, but the tooth wouldn't budge and was on a nerve. The nerves were wrapped around the tooth. Another failed attempt! I actually almost died the next day from the infection being stirred and pushed further in me. I then met Dr. Nickel, who took an x-ray and showed me I had dead bone in my jaw. No dentist ever told me / showed me this on the x-ray. I was nervous for him to perform the surgery, after two failed attempts from past surgeons and almost dying the second time, but he was confident and put me at complete ease. I was also taken aback by his genuine, humble demeanor. He is a very kind-hearted, patient man and is the "go-to oral surgeon" in the area for complex patients. The procedure was a complete success! I had a 3-month, 6-month, and 18-month follow up and everything healed beautifully. There was no nerve damage, and my energy came back, among other things. Thank you, Dr. Nickel, from the bottom of my heart. You are a good man. God bless you!

Since I was informed I needed a tooth pulled, I had an impending sense of doom. I'm proud of how quickly I scheduled the consultation (due to the end of the Flex Spending deadline). In advance of my appointment, my dentist sent the xrays to Dr Jacob's office and I both dreaded that they would pull my tooth that day, or that I would have to return to have it done. My primary care physician also recommended Dr. Jacobs. When I arrived at the office, it was the most glamorous dental office I'd ever seen. There was a separate room to fill out paperwork. There was a separate waiting room with a large TV. They didn't shove anything into my mouth to take xrays -- the camera flew around me like a 360 degree photo booth. They told me that they would pull the tooth that day -- was I more terrified or more relieved? Dr Jacobs was very caring and supportive when I told him I was quite nervous. He was very patient and explained each step that would happen. The worst, of course, was the injection of novocaine. However, as he said, it took no longer than 10 minutes to extract the tooth. The staff was very detailed with the after care. They called me when I returned home and Dr Jacobs called me later that evening to check on me. While I hope I never see Dr Jacobs ever again, chances are that my teeth will let me down sometime in the future. At least I know what to expect, and Dr Jacobs and his practice are the very best.

Our ortho thought Dr. Mark Jacobs would be a good fit for what she needed done and her "high maintenance" personality. I liked that he was an anesthesiologist before an oral surgeon since I assumed we would have to knock her out for the procedure. We were able to get in for a consultant within a week and the procedure a week later. The building itself is pretty old and I feared the elevator was going to break down on us, but the office itself is beautiful and not what you'd expect in this older building. During the consultation Dr. Jacob and his lovely staff put us both at least. They were very clear on what the procedure would entail and how to make it as pain free as possible. He gave us a few options for pain management and she chose a drink that would put her to sleep. They even asked what flavor she likes and she asked if they had any shirley temples. No such luck, but lots of fruit juices to choose from. The day of the procedure I expected to have to drag her into the office, but she went willingly since the consultation was so smooth. The hardest part was that she really didn't like the taste of the drink, but they were very patient as she took forever to gag it down. From there it the procedure itself was easy. She was drowsy and cranky the rest of the day, but it went way better than I expected. Today she had a quick follow-up (one week later) and was told she can resume eating whatever she wanted. Hooray! Everyone in the office was lovely once again and I will go back to them for any future oral surgeon needs (ex: wisdom teeth) for my family, but hopefully we don't have too many.

I recently visited NorthShore dental and my experience has been horrible…read more My appointment was set for 10 am and i reached at 945am as it was my first time in this facility. So i completed the formalities and waited...Waited..waited and waited till 1015 after which i asked when i was going to be seen. I was informed that my appointment is at 10:30am and should be coming up soon. That was the first time i got to know that my appointment time was changed and i wasnt even informed on that. However, anyways i had no other option but to wait and finally at around 10:50am i was called inside. So essentially i waited an hour before i was seen. Dr. Vernoski was my doctor and as soon as he looked at me, he asked me if we are doing Xray today as i am pregnant. I said No. He made a very weird face and mentioned that "i should have come before i became pregnant. Without X Ray he cannot do anything and its only the 30% of what he will know whats going on". That was the memorial day weekend and i felt that his X ray money was out of the window and he got very annoyed looking at me. Somehow i maintained my cool and said "thats the precise reason i am visiting dentist to make sure i dont have major issue which you may get while being pregnant. He started with the floss and kept saying that he doesnt have time to teach me how to floss, though I never asked for it. My gums were bleeding because of this pregnancy and i was in pain and thats why i was visiting the dentist. 3 mins in floss and another 5 mins in cleaning the teeth with the manual tool and thats it. I am done with the annual cleaning. I have visited many dentists in the past and never ever experienced some thing like this where not more than 8 mins were spent on cleaning. Another 5 mins of polishing and i was out by 11 am. So i spent more time waiting and less time on the chair with all kinds of blabbering from the doctor. Although he gave me a tip on how to take care of my teeth during this time but it was a horrible experience. Will never ever come back again.

Dr. Mark Steinberg and his team are awesome!…read more I am very grateful for the exceptional experience that I had in the removal of my bottom right wisdom tooth. Fortunately, the only tooth extraction experience I had previously was the removal of 2 upper teeth in my teens for the purposes of braces. As well, I have no cavities, so I have only experienced a dentist for routine cleanings. This was my first time visiting with an oral surgeon. However, after a recent visit my normal dentist office it became clear that it would be beneficial for me to remove my bottom right wisdom tooth given that it was crooked and covered by a flap of gum which made cleaning difficult and was becoming problematic. I had no pain. However, we determined that it was a good idea to be proactive especially since I was not longer a "teenager" or in my 20's and the risk for problems would only increase with time. Upon entering Dr. Steinberg's office I was somewhat nervous about the idea of taking out a wisdom tooth given all of the horror stories I read online. Apart from the fact that Dr. Steinberg is an MD as well as a DDS, he is thorough, compassionate and highly competent. He and his team took the time to answer my numerous questions and to make sure I was aware of all my options and risks. Dr. Steinberg first inspected my mouth, then using the newest technology available took a full mouth 3D X-ray to get the complete picture. I had a previous X-ray from my regular dentist. However, it was not a clear and Dr. Steinberg's office took another one at not cost. Again, he then took the time to explain my options. In the end, he extracted my wisdom tooth and any potential infection in the area was scrapped to avoid future problems. I was little anxious about the procedure and concerned with the post surgery pain that others had warned me of in their experience. As it turned out, the procedure was a success. I had zero pain during the procedure and Dr. Steinberg communicated with me throughout the process, so I knew what to expect along the way. In fact, the pain from the procedure more or less subsided after the first 16 hours. He had advised me that I would experience pain and discomfort for the next 36 hours, but it has not lasted that long. Dr. Steinberg provided me with a prescription for Norco, but I only needed to take it once 4 hours after the procedure and since then I have only needed ibuprofen twice which I have mainly used to aid with the inflammation. Ice really helped alot. The next day the office called me to check on my progress. I was touched that they took the time as these days you mainly only get office appointment reminders. A couple days later, I had questions and when I called his office, his team answered all my questions. If you require dental care that may be more complex, Dr. Steinberg is your guy. I strongly recommend this practice without hesitation!
