I'm going to update my review and downgrade them. While I still love the clothes in this store and…read moreI love to stop in and have a fun day trying on outfits and having the little things the gals working in here pick out for me be so cute... it's just not the same since the store manager, Stefanie moved to Florida. She was amazing. She knew and remembered repeat customers by name, she would go out of her way to help you find something that the store might be sold out of or a hot item to hunt it down in another store and would make phone calls, order online, etc. for you to make sure you got just what you wanted. She helped me hunt down many an item and one black and white striped blazer in particular that was selling like hot cakes she found for me and ordered for me online so I could get it. I'm so glad she did because it is one of my favorite things I own. Since she's left the atmosphere is somewhat different... the gals inside are still friendly but are a bit more stand-offish than they were when she was there and I just don't feel as welcomed or appreciated. It was always a personalized experience before and now I don't feel that way. Everyone is still friendly and polite and they try to be helpful but it just doesn't have the same spark. I still enjoy shopping here and love the style and quality of the clothes, but it's just not the same for me. I enjoy that they will pick out outfits and items for you and put them in the dressing room once you give them a few items that you'd like to try on. Though I am usually very picky and don't like anything I didn't personally pick out, there are always items they put in the dressing room that I love that I would have walked right past. So it does have its perks.

I have recently become ADDICTED to this store. It's bad because their clothes are pretty pricey,…read morebut they are gorgeous and great quality! I am very petite. I'm 5'2", about 105 lbs. I am almost 26 and I will soon be entering the professional world as a teacher. I have always shopped in the juniors section in stores because women's clothing (even petite sizes) were always way too big and I had no real need for really nice clothes. As I have gotten older, I decided I wanted to get out of my "rut" of very juvenile looking clothing and also very cheap clothing. I used to always shop at places like Forever 21 or Papaya because a) it was cute, and b) they fit me. I have looked in Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Old Navy, etc. and their clothes are just way too big, even XS sizes. So I was having a really hard time finding more adult looking clothes that fit me. Even in the petite sections of these stores, the clothes were too big and the selection in the petites is usually very slim pickings. I just don't get why the world is so bias against tiny people. Anyway, low and behold, White House | Black Market carries XXS and 00 in ALL their items, not just one little back corner of the store. I have to say that I have tried on some of their wear-to-work black pants and a few other pants, and even the 00s were a little big (a little too big in the upper leg and butt area), but the other day I tried on a pair of their jeans and they fit perfectly. I guess you just have to try things on, but I am very excited that at least their dresses and tops fit perfectly. One reason I love going into the store is that the sales associates take a couple things you picked out into the dressing room, then they bring you a bunch of other things to try on. Kind of bad because it makes me so much more tempted to spend money I shouldn't, but it is nice of them to go and pick some things out for you. They come and check on you and tell you what they think looks good, and they will bring you shoes and things to try on with the outfits. Great customer service! So if you are willing to spend a little extra money for some good quality clothing, then WHBM is fantastic. I try to find things on sale (and sale racks in WHBM are not a nightmare to go through if you are like me and hate to dig), but if you sign up for emails, they will send you coupons sometimes too. Once you spend $300, you will become a Black Book member, which means every purchase from then on, you receive a 5% discount (I know that isn't much, but at least it's something). Plus, you will always have a free shipping option if you shop online, and a lot of times there are online coupon codes that are really great that can be combined with your 5% off.

I loved everything inside, and wanted to buy one of everything! If you're looking for a gift for almost anyone, this is a good spot to check out. The prices were pretty reasonable, but some were a bit pricey (to be expected). I can't wait to go back for another gift!

Shop local like you mean it and you won't be disappointed at Texture!…read more After many years, Texture has relocated out of the quaint house on Baldwin Avenue to serve its customers in a more convenient location just a few blacks down on Colley Avenue. The new location is nestled next to Running, Etc and across the street from Blair Middle School. It boasts ample street parking with a convenient side parking lot for customers as well. A beautiful store-front window is always displayed to perfection bringing window shopping to life during your stroll down Colley Avenue. A charming sidewalk chalkboard sign greets you before you even enter the store. The handiwork on the sign is done by a local artist which speaks to the nature of Texture. As you enter the shop, you will find it proudly supports local artists of Coastal Virginia from Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and more. I'm always impressed by the jewelry, hand designed greeting cards, pottery, and accessories that the owner finds for the store. She or any other "Texurette" will happily tell you about the origins of any item. The ladies who work in the shop (Texurettes, as they are fondly called) are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something particular. They offer complimentary gift wrapping in adorable gift bags tied with ribbon. Every time I give a gift in a Texture bag the recipients eyes light up! You will find a price range for every wallet. I have bought $2 hand soaps, hilarious dishes towels for $10 as well as beautiful jewelry in the higher price range. Texture is one of those local shops who truly supports local as well. I love both that they give back to the community and support local artists. It is definitely the ideal place to find a gift for any occasion. They have a baby boutique with one of a kind baby gifts, vintage inspired puzzles, funny gifts such as socks and dish towels, coastal decor, jewelry, handbags, pottery, candles and more. I'm not sure how the owner did it, but the move to their new location only brought more of that local charm with them to Colley Avenue. They are still serving up friendly southern greetings to every customer while making their new shiny store feel ever so welcoming. Kudos!

I feel like I get the celebrity treatment every time I come shop here. I have to give her all the thanks for guidance the last few months finding the best bra for a wedding that I attended. In addition, she was able to help me with some shape wear too. The experience is like nothing I've experienced. I love how the boutique carries a wide variety of sizes and styles that fit curvy girls like me. Today's Grand Opening at the boutique was so much fun. I came by after work and Nicole had all my size information and styles I had tried on in past visits on file at the boutique. Nicole went all out to make her opening so special for all her customers. She provided food tickets for her customers to enjoy and refreshments too. Also, Nicole even had a wheel to spin for instant prizes. The prizes ranged from gift cards to local businesses, percent off for today's purchase, a free workshop, a free bra, and more. The lingerie is very selective because Nicole hand picks all the styles and brands. I love how sophisticated and classy the lingerie look and feel. The prices are very reasonable for the luxury products you will find here. As well as, the value you get from not only the quality of lingerie, but the customer service being top notch. The personal picks Nicole suggests for me as the customer have been without fault the best for me. What takes the cake is that Nicole will go above and beyond to help her customers. For instance, if your size isn't available to purchase that day, she will try to order the size for you to pick up at a future date. I will be back as a regular customer, to see what lingerie Nicole will have in at Simone Cherie.

I like that she really pays attention to what her clients like and dislike. All the lingerie styles are very classy, tasteful, sexy and timeless. She is also very big on nude being of all/most skin tones not just one shade. On one of my visits here I had a personal fitting and learned so much about my bra size and style. There really is a lot a woman may not know when bra shopping. You can always schedule a fitting online. When I say you will feel like you have a personal expert shopper it is because the owner knows her inventory so we'll that she'll will pick all the styles you request or that suits you. The boutique has a client system where past purchases and style information are stored. A customer can always call or message the boutique ahead and they will pull some inventory for you. This boutique also carries men briefs. This boutique is located inside Selden Market in Norfolk. It is surrounded by many other great small businesses. Parking is conveniently in a parking garage. I've purchased the most comfortable and well made lingerie here. Even my everyday bra T-shirt was purchased here! All lingerie are reasonably priced for the quality you get. The amount of detail that this boutique owner puts into her business is the real reason why this is the best Lingerie Boutique locally!

It wasn't just a mall, it was a backdrop for so many memories. I still remember when it had Rainforest Café and Johnny Rockets, those were absolute staples of any visit. There was even a Sanrio store at one point, that had planko, which felt like a little slice of joy every time I walked in. It really was the mall of my time growing up. Some of my favorite memories include visiting Santa during the holidays, catching movies with friends and family, and just spending afternoons wandering around when going to the mall was a real treat, not just an errand. Not to mention using the photobooth before "selfies" were a thing. They even had a bounce house and play area which was so much fun as a child. It's definitely bittersweet seeing it close. While it's not quite what it once was, it still holds so many good memories for so many people. A solid four stars for everything it was at its peak and for the nostalgia it leaves behind. An end of an era, but one worth remembering.

They were happily riding the escalator, and I was taking a simple video of them on my phone. To my surprise, a security guard stopped me and told me that videotaping was not permitted. At first I didn't even realize she was speaking to me because she was mumbling from a distance. When I continued recording my children, she approached again and more firmly told me that no videotaping was allowed. What made the experience so frustrating is that the mall is literally days away from closing. The building was largely empty, my children were simply riding the escalator, and I was recording family memories--not conducting a commercial photo shoot or disrupting anyone. Meanwhile, there have been photographers and members of the media documenting the mall's final days. The whole interaction felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Instead of leaving with fond memories of one last visit to MacArthur Center, I left feeling scolded for recording my own children in an almost-empty mall that will no longer exist in a matter of days. Consumer habits may have changed over the years, but experiences like this certainly don't encourage people to return. It was a disappointing way to end what should have been a nostalgic final visit.
