The rented garment (tuxedo) actually went ok but I found the "service" was pretty lousy…read more I call the service at this place to be of the Tarzan style in nature - on a par with McDonald's lots of multi-tasking. An example is you go try on the tux - come out and the sales person who you were dealing with - they are now working with a different customer on the other side of the store. One sales woman was in the middle of taking my measurements - she says in front of me to another sales woman: "Can you take him? I have to go" as if leaving her shift - going home for the day. But then I watched the same woman do it again to another customer. I have never seen this before. I feel they are cavalier and unprofessional. But luckily it all worked out - the tuxedo itself was a success. I want to mention that some of the people were helpful and rose to the occaision.

I haven't had the need to buy much business attire lately but with a business trip coming up and…read moreeveryone seeing the two jackets I own that actually fit for the past couple of years, I figured it was time for an update. I went on a Friday evening and the gentleman who helped was great. He immediately measured me rather than guessing at sizes and I think that's a great start. I was able to find a couple of jackets I liked along with some trousers. They didn't have one of the pants I liked in stock in my size, so he ordered it to come to the store. The only disappointing thing was that there wasn't a sale going on. I was hoping the Friday before Easter there might be something, but no luck. The jackets and pants I got needed some slight alterations, so I'll be back next week to pick everything up and try it on. I'm not anticipating any issues but I'll update if anything changes. I'll also note that is was quite busy and the two people working there were able to manage all the different groups of customers effectively. I did hear some guys say they had an appointment for a fitting, so that's a nice service they offer. It's getting to be prom season so there were a lot of high schoolers getting ready to get dressed up. I'm glad that's still a thing!

Primark - Rita Ora's line with Primark

My four friends and I drove over an hour away to Danbury to check out Primark. I have never been…read morehere before, this is the only location in Connecticut. Primark is an Irish retailer of affordable fashion for men, women and children. Other locations also carry home items, but not the Danbury location. They are very popular across the British Isles as well as several countries across Europe. The Primark in Danbury is part of the Danbury Fair Mall, the good news is you can access it as its own store, no need to go through the mall. This store is massive, there were so many shoes when we first walked in. There's hair accessories, purses and other small knickknacks. The clothes aren't super organized. The hangers are marked with various sizes, but they are actually all random sizes hung on random hangers. This was everywhere, same with the shoes. I am a bit selective when it comes to clothes shopping, I prefer my items to be mostly cotton. Cotton items were difficult to find or non existent at Primark. We spent two hours here and all I found were two items. Keeping in mind that they are a fast fashion retailer, the quality isn't always there. Loose strings, uneven stitching, unavailable sizes are all a part of the gamble. The wait to access a fitting room was surprisingly fast and efficient. The line to check out was long but moved fast, due to several open registers. I'm glad I experienced Primark, while they aren't for me, they might be for you. Marshalls, Target and Amazon are more accessible for me.

I love the selection of clothes. I can find from comfy to formal wear. For how inexpensive…read moreeverything is the quality is not bad at all. I've shopped here many times and the clothes lasts. The store is always busy but still kept in order. The lines can be long but move pretty quickly. This is one of my go to stores.

JANE + MERCER - Fitting rooms

I was so excited to finally find a nice store in the Danbury Mall. Could not help myself feel so…read morehappy to see those brands that I missed from the good old Annie Sez, and Lord and Taylor. But my emotions were soon going to be crushed as I navigated through the store. As I got to the middle of the store 2 girls young were just chatting. Obviously I was not even acknowledged or greeted. Soon after the African American employee said "she is not even going to spend $100". At that point I was hopping they were talking about someone else...I looked up and as they noticed they moved towards the front of the store. I kept looking and found a few pieces but was already uncomfortable after all I'm not the regular size small, white, blond hair customer. I'm the opposite size xl, Hispanic, jeans, bickenstock sandals, crazy hair. At least that is what I look like on my days off. Took an other lap around the store as I found the guts to just shop and not pay attention to the young girls after all....what do they know? As I was just holding 2 pieces one of the girls came up and said: Can I put that in the fitting room? To what I answer no thank you. She then just walked away. Soon after an older associate asked the same question when "I said no thank you" she then said "let me put it at the register" to what agreed to. I continued browsing towards the front of the store and as I was moving I over, I heard the 3 girls talk about a top but didn't put any mind into it. Just kept moving. Once at the front on the left side of the store all 3 girls were now across from me. The one that had asked me if she can put the things in the fitting came over to tell the other girl how I had said yes to the other employee that took my things to the register. At that point all 3 looked straight at me and as they did I asked them if I could help them. The African American girl laugh and said what? you can't help us? No.... I then turn around went to the register any paid. The woman at the register was helpful and tried to apease me. But at this point I was too mad, too angry, too disappointed at the fact that I had been stereotyped. I had been watched and I had been racially stereotyped. As I'm trying to pay one of them realices what is going on and comes to the counter and says "excuse me I just wanted to let you know we were not talking about you...we were looking for a top". To what I responded with "you know that is not true". But I accept your apology...since there was none. she thought it was a good idea to just come up and lie. Why not just leave it alone.
