He was enthusiastic and responsive from the first phone call, he came up with an excellent menu and once he arrived to actually do the party, that menu was beautifully executed. We wanted an easy, crowd pleasing buffet that would allow our guests to help themselves and he delivered exactly that. From the perfectly roasted medium rare beef tenderloin, to the plump Cuban spiced sea scallops that he got off the boat that morning, to the nutty, toothsome roasted vegetable farro salad, everything was absolutely delicious. And to top it off the whole buffet looked gorgeous! He even came to the rescue when we realized the we had neglected to bring a cooler for the week, so he lent us his giant Yeti cooler for the entire week! What a class act from this caterer! We will definitely use him again when we come back to Avalon next summer! FYI, I think he may also lead fishing charters and if I had know that ahead of time we would have booked him for that too!

For lunch we had two different sandwiches which came with a bag of chips: the chicken cutlet caprese: jersey tomatoes, basil pesto & mozzarella - 4/5, the chicken cutlet is sliced into thin pieces and mixed in with the tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella - I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was served as a piece of chicken cutlet topped with the other items. In this format it was a little hard to eat (I ended up scraping the chicken out of the bread to eat it that way), and not satisfying as a sandwich the fried eggplant, roasted peppers, sauteed spinach, tomatoes & mozzarella - 5*/5, generous slices of lightly breaded fried eggplant topped with the other items for a "meaty" sandwich, very delicious! For dinner we had the halibut with braised leeks and ratatouille over polenta, it was amazing! I'm not sure if I can recreate this at home but the combination of the perfectly prepared halibut over the creamy polenta accented by slices of the leek, topped with what I could have believed was the typical topping for eggplant or chicken parmigiana (maybe that would be easier than making ratatouille?) - sumptuous! Now that I know about Homestyle To Go I'll definitely order from there instead of eating out in Cape May every night as we usually do when we stay on the Cape. So many more things to try!

Having the opportunity to watch my wife enjoy caviar for the very first time was an experience I will soon not forget. The Wagyu Steak Tartare was simply a delight. One of the best I have ever had. CAPE MAY SEAFOOD CIOPPINO ® scallops, shrimp, mussels, little neck clams, white wine & tomato broth, roasted garlic aioli, grilled focaccia ~this dish was nothing less of extraordinary! The tomato broth was remarkable and delicious. MEDITERRANEAN SEABASS cherry tomato, caper & taggiasca olive relish, crispy creamer potatoes, salsa verde ~one of the best fish dishes for me in 2026 for sure!
