Dr. Gavin did a complex root canal that involved bone. Gentle and no pain. My new dentist was impressed by his work. Superior skills.

Run away. Pushy. Awkward. Unless you like that sort of thing. I didn't get my work done by him. Just didn't feel right.

I was referred here by Visionary Dental Arts and I swung by the day of to have a quick convo and they were able to get me a consultation within the next 48 hours which was clutch because my insurance plan was changing and I needed a quick turnaround time. The receptionist were quick, funny, and informative. They have an automated system to send you text reminders of your appointment plus a welcome video after you leave the office. For my consultation, I was running late because my dog became ill and they were gracious and worked with finding another time for me to come in. I arrived later that day and waited no more than 5 minutes in a crowded waiting room to go in and get my head scanned. I was put into the patient room with scans of my head and I met with 3 people. The assistant, then the doctor, then the payment specialist. Each one was welcoming and didn't talk to me entirely in jargon and technical terms. They made it a point to use the medical terms and then combine it with more common terms. It was in a way that didnt make me feel inferior or not smart. I then went and made an appointment for two weeks from there. A few days later, I called and asked if I can move it up and they were more than happy to do so as they had a last minute opening for extraction. On they day of my appointment, I came in, they went over a few paperwork, took payment, and then whisked me into the room. They asked what type of music I wanted to be played and told them some music from my home country and they were bopping along with me and asking questions about my country and sharing stories about their own. I was 3 minutes into the song before next thing I knew, I was being walked out to the car. Don't remember much but they mentioned how fun I was and that they enjoyed spending time with me. Apparently I was hilarious and grooving even in my sleep. Many thanks for their patience and care they provided me.

I told this to the dental assistant, the assistant said, "Oh, He never does that." Dr. Hage DDS the owner, convinced me to have the tooth pulled. I was mentally weak due to the tooth pain. The doctor pulled the tooth and showed me a small white infection at the tip of the root, however there was no decay on the tooth. As soon as I saw that there was no decay; I knew all I really need was an antibiotic. I knew this because I had worked in dentistry from 1981 to 1997. Dr. Hage does not care about saving teeth he wants to pull them out so he can do an expensive implant. Then the dentist said I need to have a bone graft; he charged me $800 for that procedure. This took him all about 3 minutes, so I don't know what he really did. I have an upper partial denture, so now I had to pay additional money to add a tooth to the partial. It took two times to get the replacement tooth properly aligned right. It looks terrible and it doesn't look right. A very Mickey mouse job, the lab work was terrible. If you want to save your teeth I would never recommend this office. They don't care about the patient they just care about money. I suggest you find a more ethical dentist if you want to keep your teeth. Sign, A retired dental professional

I have been requesting my transfer documents since December 2023, and they refuse to provide them, preventing me from continuing my treatment. To make things worse, the representative at the office didn't even know what a transfer form was, which shows a complete lack of professionalism. Now, they are using the excuse that they don't require the form, even though my new orthodontist has specifically requested it. Instead of simply providing the information needed, they continue to refuse and make the process impossible. Due to their refusal to provide necessary records, I have contacted the California Dental Board to report their unprofessionalism. If you ever need to transfer your records, don't expect them to make it easy. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

I had lost several front teeth and needed implants, and Dr. Wachtel handled the whole process with such warmth and compassion that it made an overwhelming situation feel manageable. She clearly cared about getting the outcome right -- not just functionally, but in a way that restored my confidence. Dr. Wachtel has since moved on, and the staff from my time there has likely turned over completely -- but what impressed me recently is that the current team was just as wonderful. When I reached out years later needing help obtaining my old records for an ongoing medical case, they were responsive, helpful, and went out of their way to assist me without hesitation. That kind of continuity of care and genuine helpfulness -- even for a patient from years ago with a completely different team -- says a lot about the culture this practice has maintained. Highly recommend.

Overall, I enjoy my experiences at this dental office…read more Scheduling an appointment with the front desk staff is quick and easy. Usually, I have been able to schedule my appointments within a week. The wait time after checking into the appointment is long. There is a sign at the front desk stating to expect long wait times. It's the one aspect I hope the office improves on. During my first two appointments I did wait over an hour to see a dentist. After taking x-rays I was advised that I need a deep cleaning. The office would have to contact my insurance to get it approved. I was quoted it could take up to five weeks for approval; however, it was approved in less than two weeks. When I went to my appointment to receive a cavity filling it was switched to a deep cleaning on the right side of my mouth. I was experiencing great anxiety, and I let everyone know what my concerns were. Rigo, the supervisior, was compassionate and patient with talking me through my anxiety. Dr. Gabro was light-hearted and nurturing during the prep and throughout the procedure. Possibly I will get braces. The orthodontist briefly spoke to me after getting numb, and I was asked if I'll be interested in starting payments for braces at a discounted rate. I need some more time to decide so I did not start a payment plan. If you are seeking a dentist I would recommend giving the business a look.

Appointments are easy to get, their schedule is very accommodating and the best part is - you get a rose when you leave!! :) It can be hectic getting in all of your Dr appts while working so for your convenience they have snacks and drinks for you in the lobby as well as freshly baked cookies (sounds contradicting, I know) for you to take on your way out. I believe they also have BBQ Friday's during the summer where they have hot dogs with all the fix-ins. They make the "not so pleasant" procedures tolerable, almost pleasant. I've been recommending them to everyone I know. My only gripe is that the service can be slooooow. I guess its because they give everyone personalized attention. Most people: "I don't like going to the dentist but Me: I have anxiety and a true fear of the dentist and needles, etc, that causes me to be nervous wreck the moment I even think about going, let alone actually sitting in the dentist chair. My ROOT CANAL experience. Dr. Sugita was AMAZING. I usually wear headphones with volume up so I can't hear anything. Dr. Sugita's calm voice and the methodical way he requested the next tool he needed was soothing and actually calmed me down. I'm not exaggerating this, but I DID NOT FEEL A THING! Not even the initial shot of novocaine, not the ones after. I usually feel everything and while the pain isn't much, it's the thought of the needle that gets me. The Doctor and his assistant were efficient and I was done in no time at all. In short, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SUGITA
