Which is the best kind you can get. She works by feel and doesn't take x-rays if not absolutely needed. She's honest and she speaks our language. You know those doctors who throw big words at you and assume that you understand? Or those doctors who assume you don't understand so they speak to you if you are kindergardeners? She not either one of those. She talks and explains to you on a intelligential level without making you feel like a idiot!! She's been where we are, working the under appreciated jobs and living paycheck to paycheck. She knows that sometimes we are just trucking along and barely scraping by. And I feel as though that experience has led her to be really generous when it comes to the bill. She gave me a 10% discount on my service since I didn't have any insurance. But the nice thing as that she let me split my payment into two months without interest! Yay! Since I'm a working student, this really helped me out. I think she's the kind of person who is willing to make a compromise with you if you really need it. And that is what is so great about her!

Unfortunately, due to some internal accounting error I am now being billed for work completed over 2 years ago through medical insurance I no longer have. Was contacted today by her office. We have moved away and mail forwarding orders expired long ago. I was told by the new office worker that there was an employee problem in 2013 and that is why the billing was wrong; and was threatened by collections for $17, etc bills. Not a professional way to do business. Now it becomes my problem. I will not return though we plan to move back to San Leandro soon, and suggest you carefully work out billing details to avoid such a trap. Threats turn me off.

The doctor provided a care plan that included frequent treatments and evaluations and most importantly I never felt rushed and was afforded the opportunity to make a full recovery and return to work when I felt capable. This was extremely important to me as many providers are hasty in discharging patients well before they are fully recovered leading to re-injury and relapse. I would absolutely recommend this doctor to friends, family, and anyone seeking a chiropractor who is thorough from admission through discharge. Thanks again!

Dr. Derek spent a full two hours with me--actually going through each issue, testing, treating, and explaining what he was doing the whole time. He used a mix of techniques on both my muscles and joints, and what really stood out was how comfortable he made me feel. He talked to me like a real person, gave me the medical terms, and then broke them down using everyday examples so everything actually made sense. I walked in feeling tight, compressed, and honestly a little worried about how bad the pain was. I walked out feeling noticeably looser, more aligned, and incredibly relaxed. He truly has a magic touch. Highly recommend!

My knee hindered my mobility and prevented me from doing squats, jumps, and other exercises. After relating the pain to Dr. Ko, he discovered my pain stemmed from my ankle, which did not align properly after a sprain. After aligning it, he asked me to stand and I immediately felt the difference. Since then, I've have no issues with pain and can finally do squats and jumps again! (He also alleviated the pain in my neck and back in that same session.) In addition to him being an outstanding chiropractor, Dr. Ko is also very personable and considerate. He explained everything he was going to do beforehand, which made me feel very comfortable and relaxed since I knew what to expect (a very important thing, especially since it was my first time seeing a chiropractor). I just had my second appointment with him, and it was, of course, an amazing experience. I will continue visiting Dr. Ko and would highly recommend seeing him for chiropractic care!

Ever since I've had neck, shoulder, and back pain. At this point I can tell when my muscles are tensing up and I need to get cracked. I moved, so my old chiropractor was far enough away that it wasn't convenient anymore. Then I found Dr. Camerino. She does massage in addition to the adjustments. I'm really, really ticklish and don't get massages, but she was aware and with the heat treatment and the stimulation pads on my back muscles, I found that the massages really did help loosen everything up for the adjustments, which you have to be relaxed for (this is true of all adjustments, and I'm terrible at it). After each session I can feel better range of motion, and overall I just feel a lot better. She's basically treating all of my bad posture and work habits, and tells me exercises I can do at home to help prevent my problems. Dr. Camerino is a wonderful and knowledgeable chiropractor and I would definitely recommend her. She's also a nice lady. :)
