I wish to sincerely pass my gratitude to Mike. His trainings are so thorough intense and to the point, it only took me only few seconds to pick the correct answer. I passed the state exam in 1st try. Honestly, it took me about one and a half hours to complete the exam and walk out. If you know the answer, the test finishes up faster. A little test to ourselves. If it takes more than 2 hours to finish the exam, probably you will not make in the test. I only took the regular classes and not the crash course. I remembered most of Mike's memory gimmicks which were very helpful. My next step is to go for fingerprints. Again, a huge thank you to Mike! 5 stars for this course! I focused on the Exam Success Workshop (ESW) videos and Practice tests. I took the 6 practice tests, and the 5 test drills, and about 4 of the 20 "Take these if you have time" practice tests until I was achieving 65-75 %. I diligently reviewed the wrong answers to understand the underlying concepts for the questions I got wrong, and practiced the specific questions again till I got them right. Based on the reviews here, I was expecting to see the same practice questions on the actual exam, and zip through the exam and finish early. Boy was I wrong, maybe 10 questions were exactly the same as the practice exam, others were similar, yet the vast majority of others were completely different but still tested the same concepts as the practice exams. So be forewarned, the exam is not easy breezy. Focus on the concepts as you review the practice test questions you get wrong. Be willing to put in the time and start studying at least 6 weeks pror to the exam. Memorizing the practice test questions and answers will not help you pass since you may not see the exact questions, but could still be helpful to reinforce the concepts. I ended up finishing the exam in 2 hours, and was the 2nd examinee to complete the exam, and I was pleasantly surprised to pass! The exam was tough, and although I was thinking I may have to retake the test, I'm glad I won't need to. BTW,I ran into 4 other examinees as I exited the building, all 4 of them had failed. P.S.: I also took the Kaplan RE prep class, but did not find that nearly as helpful. The Kaplan question bank is huge and the course is overhwhelming. The Devlin course is a lot more structured, especially with the exam success workshop videos. I also found Devlin as an instructor to be a lot more engaging than the Kaplan instructor I had. read more

The videos are very engaging and Michael explains the concepts extremely well and in a fun way. It was certainly worth the investment as it makes a huge difference. I was so new to the area and real estate jargons, it would have been a miracle simply understand the questions on the test. Because he was so good, I not only passed the exam but my score was 98%. Fantastic program! Right after my exam application was approved I started to get exam crash courses through the mail. I checked out the websites and reviews and none of them stood out ... until I found Mikes program. I read the reviews on yelp and liked the value offered by course. All the information you need to pass the test is there, just make sure you study it. I watched the recorded Exam Success Workshop video, which was about 6 hours long but took me like 10-12 hours to get through it. I kept pausing for note taking, and ended up taking 17 pages of notes. Practice tests 1-3 are gone over in class, I would take notes and then do the test after he went over it. Tests 4-5 aren't gone over in class but automatically grade when you submit it. I did both of those and printed them out and on the ones I got wrong I wrote out what the right answer is and why. Hearing, interpreting yourself, and writing it out = retention. I will give this School a fair, deep review due to my own experience: 1. Instructor Michael Devlin is very dedicate person during the class. You can ask him anything relate to real estate. But off the class, he may or may not reply your message. (Please dont call his phone, he won't answer. Email message will be best choice.) However, you can always reach to his assistant Miss Lee. She isn't quite as knowledgeable as Mr. Devlin about Real Estate Exam questions, but she surely can deliver your message to him. 2. The class price is about average cost compare to the other Real Estate Schools I was looking for by that time, only around +-50 dollars difference. 3. Convenience: The school provide both physical and online class for the students which is really convenient. Be honest, I am a lazy person, I barely attend physical class even I used to live in San Jose area. I prefer the online class for my examination preparation. Its actually no difference compare to physical class, you can see Mr. Devlin live stream, you can also interrupt him for questions. All you need is a high speed internet. Only thing I am not very satisfied is the equipment for recording live stream is sometimes unstable even disconnected from online students. But it only happens for few times (around 3 times) during my entire study period. 4. Special events, yes. You are right. there are some special events you can attend if you are a student under Mr. Devlin's class. Most likely Mr.Devlin will introduce some very successful and famous Real Estate Agents from bay area to the class or some special location for a great presentation. You can ask them any questions you want about Real Estate. What can be better than learning from a Real Time successful business gentlemen or ladies ? This is a very awesome feature of Mr. Devlin Class, you probably will not see a Real Estate star from the other school to do a real time speech. 5. The State Exam Preparation Simulation: Here is the most important part for this class. I would like everyone who treat passing the exam as their final goal to read this part very carefully. The 1200 State Exam Simulation Practice Questions that Mr Devlin provide to me only match around 60% to 70% questions with the Real Estate State Exam I took from LA county. I did not take the State Exam in Oakland, may be that is the reason. But I am not sure. (I wrote a email to ask Mr.Devlin after I passed the exam, he didn't explain that to me.) The rest of 40%-30% exam question is similar but not exactly the same with the simulation questions. For example: The state exam will ask you: By definition which statement below is correct about Easement? Then give you A, B, C, D option. However, the practice question is something like: Under the statement below which one is incorrect about Easement? A, B, C, D. The answer options from both questions are completely different. Therefore, if you don't fully understand the term of Easement, but just memorize the answer from the practice questions. You may still get wrong. This was the most challenge part to me. Unless you fully understand the terminology of each word from the Glossary, you will probably fail the exam in LA county. I am so glad that I was fully prepared before I took the exam at LA county and passed it at first time. But I don't consider its very easy. As matter of fact, its very challenging. I spent almost 5 hours on the simulation practice every day for a month before I took the test. I highly suggest ppl to take a look at the glossary before you start doing the practice question. It will be very helpful. Make sure you fully understand each word from the glossary. 6. Conclusion part: Overall, I will give this School a 5 stars, why break the tradition? I just wish that someone had turned me on to Michael Devlin's Real Estate School earlier! I can't recommend him enough. As anyone can tell you, the three required classes that everyone must take are dry, boring, and difficult to tie together if you are doing it online. His online lectures with powerpoint presentations and bullet outline brought all of the information together. I was able to get through all of my study time, while working, in two weeks. With so many stellar reviews, what more is there to add? I will say, I took a pretty comprehensive approach to studying: I incorporated the class textbooks (Yes, I actually read through most of them), podcasts, study guides, practice exams, plus Mike's live classes/webinars, slides, and Saturday cram class. My MO can be intense. No regrets with taking the long road, but if you're wanting to be more direct and efficient, Mike's materials hit the key areas... and Mike is extremely approachable and helpful. I could have shaved off months by following his advice to take the class exams as soon as I was eligible (after 18 days) and by applying for the salesperson exam + license at the same time instead of serially. You decide how fast you want to get that license in hand. Don't be fooled though: no matter how you cut it, prepping for the exam is A LOT of work. Even the highlights are a TON of information, so be ready to cram your brain. But just know that Mike has a system that streamlines the process, focuses on the essentials, and just works. I finished the exam in 1 hour 50 minutes - ONLY because I took the full course from Mike Devlin which helped me to UNDERSTAND the material not just memorize (which is impossible anyway, I think). Passed September 28, 2016. First attempt. I searched for about 2 months reviewing all the different programs available for all the different price commitments. From high pressured sales and closing techniques to receiving no response from some of the options, I finally found a REAL PERSON that I could SEE and even ATTEND a class if I chose, or tune-in online and participate from home, or do the lectures when they fit into my schedule. Then, I read his YELP reviews, impressive - I took the free class ... enjoyed his approach to teaching ... and I signed up instantly, as any serious person would do! I only attended 2 classes in person, however, Mike and his assistant, Rha were and are readily available to assist you and they have your best interests in hand. I have to write the BIGGEST thank you note to Mike. Figured it's even better to post it with a review on Yelp. So, I didn't buy the entire package (wish I did) that he has to offer. I did purchase the weekend cram session that comes with the 7hr course, online questions/answers, slides, test strategies and bullet points. I decided to purchase this (cheaper) package thinking it would refresh what I already knew. I couldn't have been more wrong.... The class stated with test questions. I found these incredibly hard to answer and was suddenly aware of how under prepared I was (this is when I really started to panic). In total there was 150 questions and answers. Not only did he give the answer, but an explanation that I would remember. The class flew buy, providing so much information that I was terrified that there was no way I would retain all the information. Mike to the rescue again! The materials included in this (way underpriced) package was invaluable. He provided all the slides from the class to help jog my memory, as well as, bullet points from the class. I would have paid a fortune for just the bullet points. They provided an answer to every question I would have been stuck on. All of these I studied the spray before the exam. The morning of the exam I watched his course on test strategies. This in so many ways helped calm my nerves. I recommend anyone who pays for his service watch this clip the morning of. Nerves will get the best of you, this really helps. I passed my exam, on the first try, in 2 hours and calm as a cucumber. I can honestly say that I owe so much of that success to Mike. Please don't hate me for saying so, but looking back at what a service this is, I would've paid soooooooo much more. Don't worry, I don't think he'll do that, but it makes my point. A slightly lengthier review: I purchased the package from dreclass.com which included the 3 college courses, PDF books, live training sessions and Saturday cram session. The package also included an online test exam which looks and feels very much like the real deal. I had my test on 08/21 and started the Real Estate Crash course on August 1st as I had completed my course requirements through college and first tuesdays.
